- Good Morning, Reptilians! Crested Geckos - especially babies- can be a bit stressful at first, when you’re learning their eating habits. This video contains tips to knowing whether or not your baby is eating, and adjustments that can be made. As always, if you’re worried about your pet, and/or they are displaying concerning behaviors, PLEASE take them to the vet to be checked out by a professional.
Also this video was recorded several weeks ago, so I don't mention it in the video, but THANK YOU FOR 100K SUBSCRIBERS! You're all amazing. 🎉🎉🎉 The channel actually hit that number on Christmas, so that's pretty cool.

Morgan is getting big, our little one Sammie was only eating off my fingers. But now has discovered that there are two bowls with food in the enclosure and he/she takes turns out of whichever one to eat from. Happy New Year!
That's so awesome! Two bowls is a fantastic way to help little babies find food 🥰
Happy New Year!
I just watched the video Brian Posted and I’m in tears 😭
I haven't seen today's yet 🥺 I had to pause the last one several times and take breaks. He's an absolute icon in this community and he will be so greatly missed 😔💔
As someone with a baby Crestie this really helped thanks.
Yay! So glad it was helpful 🥰

Happy New Year!
Your baby is so cute!
This is what I’ve been asking for, thank you. What a relief!😮
How do you tell the gender?!!!!?
I think my crested gecko looks like that.😂
We don't own a crested gecko, but loved seeing your content on them. Congrats to reaching 100K subscribers!❤️ What a great Christmas gift. By the way, love your bloopers at the end of your videos. 😎
Thank you so much 🥰 I couldn't do it without you all!
Great advice on baby cresties. Your baby Morgan is so cute nice to hear he, she is growing.

Thank you so much 💜💜💜
I watched this video last night, and i put a smaller amount of food and my crestie ate it all, thank you so much Elle!
Great video! Can you do a video on a Leopard Gecko not eating? Thanks! Congrats on 100k subscribers!
Thank you so much! And yes! Added it to my list 😊
@@ellesreptiles Thanks!

Thankfully I never had this problem. My girl Basil loves her Pangea and CRUNCHED on those bugs… (she’s obsessed with insects ahaha)
Same advice works for gargoyl geckos.
Yep! 🥰
Hope you are doing well 😊
I am! Thank you so much 💜
I just picked up my crested yesterday and brought him home. The whole night i was so worried about him not eating. And i randomly looked around three am and saw him on the ledge with his food bowl, a couple hours later i saw him by his water bowl. I think i even see some poop. I've never been so happy to see sht in my life.
There such funny lizard to watch
Hi i have the same problem with my juvenile brown anole. It ate mealworms previously but not eating it anymore. Can i apply the tips you suggested or you have any other tips? Thank you
I have a question. My baby crested gecko seems to stay in one spot all the time and I have to take him out to feed him, because I never see him eating the small amounts of food and crickets I’ve put in his tank. I’ve gone to check on him in the middle of the night and he doesn’t move around. Could there be something wrong? Could his enclosure be too cold. Thank you for your help.
I made the mistake of only ever putting a very small amount of pangea in my baby cresties water bottlecap. I assumed it was plenty because she never ate all of it. Once I started putting more in she ate more. She eats more now that there's some depth to it and it's not just a thin layer. For some reason she only eats from one spot. Hopefully she'll start growing now. She's around 18mos and only 13g or so :( Total bummer
How long should i leave him alone after bringing him home before i can handle him?
My crested gecko poo is white is it Normal
Thank you so much for this video! I got my second crested gecko a while ago, and the seller lied saying he was young and that he was a great eater. (Also my fault for not asking the proper questions.) He is in fact, the worst eater ever. I have tried EVERYTHING and he just will not eat. I am so worried. I have tried different settings, adding more coverage to the enclosure, different brands/flavors of food, and all the bugs. He won’t eat.
Oh no! I'm so sorry you're having a hard time with your little baby crestie. What size enclosure is he in?
Another commenter said they use multiple food dishes in the tank to ensure the baby can find it. I thought that was a really good idea, too.
@@ellesreptiles he is a small gecko, I have him in a converted 10 gallon with plenty of space to hide. That’s a great idea! I’ll try it. He’s about 3 years old and absolutely tiny because he just will not eat. I feel like a horrible owner.
Hi Elle!
This is off topic but I need help.
I am going to adopt a leopard gecko next month, and I want to make sure that leopard geckos are okay with being handled? Like is once a day fine?
Yes, usually leopard geckos like being handled! Definitely give them a week or so to settle in before handling (sometimes they're just really outgoing and will come out to you before that, if that happens, it's fine 🥰).
Thank you so much! This is very helpful!!!!
Also I love your videos and learn a lot from them!! :)
is it better to get an adult crestie or a baby ?
Up to you! Adults will generally be easier to handle/care for. They're also much hardier.
But babies you'll get to watch change and grow. And you'll be responsible for "handling them down" (whether you view that as a positive or negative)
I prefer getting animals as baby’s to get them more accustomed to you and so you can watch them grow
