Blondie just performed at Coachella in 2023.
Can't say I remember this one either. But really good to hear Blondie. Real icons of the music industry 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
The first badass girl in music for me was Patti Smith. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻. Very similar age to Debbie Harry
This is from the Eat To The Beat album (the one that followed Parallel Lines) with Lorna Luft (Liza Minnelli’s half-sister) on backing vocals - she also did backing vocals on another track on this album, Accidents Never Happen (also a great song). Singles from this album were Dreaming, Union City Blue and Atomic, but all the album tracks are great, too - I’ve always enjoyed Die Young, Stay Pretty for example (with its eccentric, dark humour). I’m surprised I didn’t wear out my vinyl Eat To The Beat and Parallel Lines albums, the amount I played them - I’m old enough that I bought them when they were released. Ah, I was so disappointed that I didn’t look anything like Debbie Harry - and I still am! 😂
Great song that was almost a single. Blondie always had a strong influence from ‘60s girl groups so the the Supremes reference was spot on and I would imagine they even did it as a homage with the “stop!” part of this song. I just noticed recently, after hearing it for decades, that it takes a really long time for the chorus to come in. Debbie is still rocking today at 77 years old.
Wow, long time, no see! They sounded just like this band I knew in the old days named Blondie.😊😉
I've akeays loved Blondie and this song over the years has grown on me so much that is more one of my favourites (which is saying something!)
She was a force.
She still is ! Still performing today .
When I was a teenager I had huge posters of Debbie Harry (& Kate Bush) on my bedroom wall. Of course I did..
Debbie harry still performing today turning 80
Definitely a buried album track from 1979's "Eat To The Beat".
This is from 1979.
Sugar on the side by Blondie , plz
Don't forget about "Rapture'.
What? Not Union City Blue??
