I always had the theory that Azula had the potential to be the most powerful fire bender of all time, but what held her back was her deteriorating mental state
I don’t think that’s a theory, it’s basically a fact. Azula is 14 and her firebending was almost in the same tier as Ozai and Iroh. And her tactical skills and abilities allowed her to conquer the Earth Kingdom and critically injure Iroh, both something she even the best Firelord couldn’t do
@@fafafr-mw8rc actually she might be the second strongest firebender during the era of aang. With ozai depowered it leaves iroh to take his place and other than jeong jeong azula is top tier. So yeah
@@rhythmicmusicswap4173 honestly its annoying. people chose on instinct and without thinking and any thinking they do is baseline. my favorite baseless feat is: "zuko got trained by the dragons" (I'm about to rant) first off he did not get trained by the dragons, the dragons shot fire at him and showed him visions of the true purpose of fire, giving him a new drive. secondly, meeting ran and shaw only gave him a new motive for firebending and he picked up the dancing dragon on the way. thirdly, zuko and iroh said outright that azula was simply too much for him to take alone, zuko only agreed to fight her himself because she was off. *minor side rant: people have this very childlike and stupid notion that iroh and zuko are the only ones who bend without anger or rage and that they're the only ones who mastered breathing. breath control is a FUNDEMENTAL of firebending and all masters have learned how to control their breathing. additionally, every firebender we see save for zhao (with a name) is able to bend without anger. rage and harmony are not the only ways to fuel firebending. it is fueled by passion, emotion, ambition and willpower. sorry for the rant. you cut a hole in the baloon and I just went all out
It is likely that Uncle Iroh held back, since he didnt want to kill people ore do unnecessary property damage, so he is probably a lot stronger than he seams
@@AllAboutAvatar.iroh got one shot by azula and captured my earth kingdom soldiers twice. He isn't deserving of best dragon, that spot rightfully goes to ozai as even avatar extras CONFIRM ozai as the strongest non avatar firebender to EVER live. Y'all are putting way to much stock in the dragon dance over ozais technique, ozai could handle a 99% realized avatar with one element. Aang also had enhanced firebending, and mastered the other 3, yes even earth, idc what perfectionist toph says, in terms of skill and strength, aang has the third best earthbending feats in the series, and he was still running from ozai. His raw firebending skill is better as well, as the highest tier difficulty move for a firebender, lightning generation? He can do it in under a second. One one else, not even azula has shown that feat. The only thing iroh has on ozai is lightning generation, and if ozai and iroh were fighting AFTER his confrontation with zuko, he'd know where zuko learned such a high level bending technique.
@bussinnutsfuckinbutts5368 he got captured but he got out too, plus he discovered lightning redirection and and breath bigger flames than most firebenders can kick or punch
The fire nation’s method of firebending involves using your hatred and anger to fuel your bending, but I never got the vibe that Azula was ever excessively angry when fighting any of her opponents. I believe Azula’s fire is blue because she fuels it with malice; *her desire to cause pain*
I think that Azula also uses precision and focus, not really anger. The precision can be seen when she often uses two fingers to fire or lightning bend. She has incredible focus when firebending and this is even more obvious during the eclipse when she dodges all attacks like a freaking acrobat. She could probably rival Ty Lee if they competed.
I never thought about it like that. I was going to mention something about it also being why she's proficient at lightning bending, but it would've made the comment too long and I feel like her dedication to precision is the better reason for that @@brooklynd.756
It was also a creative decision that the writers made because they knew she would be fighting Zuko. Orange on orange wouldn't have been very visually interesting
No her fire is blue because she is a perfectionist and fire needs to be pure and perfect to burn blue. She went to an all girls school for fire bending since she was a child
There was more to the Zuko/Azula Agni-kai than Azula's mental state. Zuko was able to block Azula's attacks while she had to dodge his, blocking is more encouraged in martial arts as it offers a greater amount of control and opportunities to counter effectively, Zuko had demonstrated that there was nothing she could do to beat him and she knew it. She needed to attack Katara to win, though by doing so she broke the rules of the Agni-kai so lost anyway.
Yeah! I don't know why people still keep saying that Azula beat Zuko in the agni kai. Azula is a better firebender than Zuko (at least a little). Azula broke the rules and lost by definition.
I feel like its a huge pitty Zuko didn't got the chance to fight her at her best becouse i feel like hos journey especially in the last episodes made him stronger and he would be a match even if azula was stable. He learnd how to use different bendingtechniques to firebend and was extreamly stable with his breath.
I’m pretty sure that the canon agni kai rules don’t say anything about attacking spectators, of course that could just be what is revealed to us, but I think it makes sense since usually it wouldn’t provide any advantages so there’d be no reason to ban it
something people don’t consider with Jeong Jeong is that on top of being able to generate massive flames, he was also shown to have absolutely incredible skill manipulating existing flames. I think one of his subtle flexes is in one of the first scenes we get with him, where he makes several candle at once become geysers of flame. We almost never see firebenders controlling more than one flame at once.
this was very old zuko though, arguably still skilled but not a master - so i doubt making candles burst into flames is that impressive of a feat. just playing devils advocate i do agree jeong jeong is hella good
And if I am not wrong Jeong Jeong is the only firebender that created flames without phisical contact with fire. Every firebenders fire comes from hands, or mouth or some part of their body bud Jeong Jeong created fire coming out of ground.
Iroh was in general mode and ready to go to war. He wouldn’t make such as humble statement at that point if it weren’t true. Iroh just seriously doubted his chances but did not deny there was a possibility
@P N because he simply isn't. Iroh has the single greatest feat of firebending in the series, that's no coincidence. Also iroh specifically stated that it was not right for him to beat Ozai, it had nothing to do with him saying he couldn't.
As someone who grew up with avatar as a kid, and loves uncle Iroh, I think people overestimate him based off of their love for him as a character. He is incredibly powerful, but ozai is better. Even iroh said "even if I could defeat ozai, and I don't know that i could". Keep in mind iron knows lightning redirection, so even with Ozai's deadliest weapon nullified (ozai has been shown to create lightning far faster then any other character in the series) iroh still thinks ozai has a fair chance of beating him. Ozais fire shot on top of the air ship has larger then irohs fire ball (that he spent more time working up towards) that he used to destroy the walls of ba sing se. Love iroh but power wise iroh < ozai
I think its fine for anyone to say Iroh = Ozai based on iroh's statement, the problem with scaling Iroh is his feats are always going to be nerfed by his control and pacifism. he wasnt trying to melt ba sing se, he was trying to blow open a wall. ozai goes all out multiple times because he has no restraint
@@yoyo777 I’d say Katara is underrated and Toph is easily one of the best benders of all time I think the only other earthbenders who beat her are Kyoshi and Kuvira but Kuvira and her soldiers retreaded when Toph showed up while the Beifongs were fighting her and Toph went toe to toe with Bumi when she was still young
i agree in terms of who'd win in a fight, but in terms of who's a better firebender, i reckon iroh's open mind (taking techniques from water bending) and actual genius-level smarts - lets not forget he developed an entire new firebending technique just. casually. - make him the winner. ozai is more powerful, but can't be named better because his bigoted views restrict him (if that makes sense?)
Iroh did not get the name Dragon of the West because he could breathe fire. The honorary title of dragon was given to Fire Nation personnel who had hunted and killed dragons. When he met Ran and Shaw, he returned to the fire Nation saying he had killed them earning him the title. We know obviously that he did not kill them. But that's TRULY how he became known as "The Dragon of the West." He said that line to make a joke and catch the earthbenders off guard.
The only thing I would say to take into consideration is that while in the series Korra is technically stronger than Aang, its only because she was trained on the elements since 4 years old, and she was 17-21 in the series. Meanwhile Aang learned 3 new elements in about 1 year, and the series ends there.
Yes! You're totally right. I mentioned that in the video too :) People shouldn't get mad that Korra is better/stronger than Aang, due to the fact that we only see Aang learning the elements in a very short time span. Good point!
@@ImperatorNocturne korra still better tho, aang dies at like 30, giving him 20 years to master the elements, and we take like 5 or 6 due to family and avatar politics. He got 14/15 same amount as korra
People shouldn’t be mad at Korra being higher than Aang. It’s very obvious that Aang struggled the most with fire bending. Fire and Earth are his opposites where as with Korra her personality fits fire and earth very well.
she strugled more with air! she never could made air before the blood bending incident... aang could use fire but affraided from it... he could not use earth but relativly short time aang become master of all elements! korra strugled with air around a year... what i seen aang more talented in elements but korra more spiritually talented! aang's strugle mostly physical while korra's sturgle is mental
Honestly, if I didn't know better, I would've though that Korra was a firebender, I swear it was the bending she used the most despite her being from the south water tribe.
I think with just a few more years, Azula could've easily surpassed Iroh and Ozai. She was already a master of her own at such a young age, which I don't believe for a sec was her peak. Too bad her mental state played her dirty
@@juliankanzuki2013 Beating Zuko and beating Iroh/Ozai are two very different things, but eventually it’s pretty obvious that Azula would have surpassed both
@@benlewis5312 deffo. she was already pretty close to them despite being only 14 years old. people always seem to forget Iroh and Ozai are much older than her and thus had many more years of growth and training. imagine if she would be their age and had the right teacher lol she'd probabely make them both look like amateurs
Fire seemed like korras most natural element. Probably the convenience of being able to generate it unlike earth and water, but it also fit her character
It fit her character, but she was a more accomplished water bender by far. With fire the only things she could really do is blast unimpressive fire balls which any fire bender can do, though she was more agile. With waterbending, she could heal, she could move huge bodies of water, she could counteract blood bending attacks and create a water tornado that Aang could only do in the avatar state. It also seems like water bending feels the most natural to her. In season 1 and 2 we see her waterbend most of the time, although her personality doesn't seem like it at all, but she uses waterbending for all of her attacks as soon as water is around. Aang on the other hand almost never used waterbending for any attack even when water was there to work with.
no, its just that korra was restricted to fire and air bending for most situations becuase she didn't ahve water nearby. whenever she finds water she uses it and does massive feats even without avatar state
Two things we have to consider: Azula was around 14 years old - her full fire bending potential was surely greater when she grew up. And also: We never saw Uncle Iroh in his prime, we only saw him when he was older. I think prime Iroh could easily handle prime Ozai.
Since you’re basing this off of the show, I completely agree with Zukos ranking. However in the comics, after the show, he learns to master rainbow fire, like the dragons. People theorize that he could do that by pulling chemicals out of the air and into his fire to color it. He’s said to have surpassed ozai while he was in his full prime. :D
Even without the comics I think it should be logically to conclude that Zuko eventually became stronger than Ozai. Since Zuko had an understanding of firebending that Ozai never had.
I believe some of the skills he learned in the other bendings managed to translate to fire bending itself (like control, power, agility, and technique). But Aang is also insanely naturally gifted (maybe because he is the Avatar and all). He even manage to become the youngest Airbender Master in history at that point.
Roku is definitely a dragon, seeing as he was a fire bender prodigy before the avatar. And was even respected and feared nearly all. Even at his weakest he was actively bending and controlling a active volcano via lava bending, air bending, etc. Roku also is the creator of lava bending, and truly is the best fire bending avatar to date.
I agree that Roku deserves to be dragon, however he didn’t create lava bending as we’re shown a previous avatar using lava bending. Szeto is his name I think
idk why being the creator of lava bending is an argument for him being the best fire bender. lava bending is earth bending not fire bending. secondly, no, he isnt the creator of lava bending.
My theory on why Iroh said he might not even be a match for his brother was not so much down to technique or skill, but more so due to physical prowess. Iroh was older while Ozai was much more in his prime. Yeah Iroh bulked up in preparation for the comet, but take into account the way Ozai moved while against aang, he had the stamina, agility, technique, and more so raw power to overpower even aang with four elements and then even avoid the avatar state for a bit of time before he was caught. Iroh is greatly capable, but he probably meant that they were pretty even in skill, but his brother had the edge due to his younger age and raw power.
I think that Iroh wasn't sure if he could defeat Ozai because Iroh doubted that he would be able to kill his own brother. Ozai would throw his own children under the bus for his own benefit without even thinking about it (yep, even Azula) but that's a line Iroh wouldn't cross so easily. He would definitely hesitate to kill anybody (especially a family member) and hesitation is all Ozai needs to toast someone.
I still think iroh is better than Ozai in terms of skill and power and he could've won against his brother even in old age, he just didn't want to kill him. Not because of brotherhood but because Iroh didn't want the crown, he was relieved somewhat not to have to carry the legacy of his father's bloody empire. And in the last book/season he mentioned to Zuko he didn't want to kill his brother because he didn't want the legacy of the fire nation to be a fight of succession between Ozai and Iroh.
it has been stated (by the creator) that Ozai was the most powerful bender of his time period, he was such a prodigy that he made Azulas growth look slow...
Zuko even though he didn’t start off that good, Zuko’s firebending was always pretty top tier simply because of his royality. He was able to receive access to professional training and ancient knowledge in a world ravaged by war where people couldn’t even get a decent simple education. Let alone proper bending arts education. Ozai was the most powerful and even most skilled in the world at the time. Iroh was the most powerful 15yrs, maybe even little bit sooner, 10yrs earlier before the start of series, but due to Ozai’s ambition and traininghe finally got the upper hand on Iroh.
If we're talking about the most powerful firebender, it's definitely Ozai. Iroh is a better firebender because he incorporates other styles and philosophies into his bending, making him well rounded.
@@lucaslacer5366 but that’s not a guarantee that he can’t either. Pit me against someone of equal size and strength and I’d be unsure if I can defeat him too. To me it seems like Iroh is just being honest and not being overconfident, so I can see him being just as powerful as Ozai or at least comparable.
Personally, I think Azula is the best firebender in the series. Iroh and Ozai's most powerful feats take place during Sozin's Comet, when all firebenders are buffed, but Azula is at her lowest point in the series. Also, in a 1 v 6 Azula made sure to take Iroh out.
Iroh rarely had a scene with he wanted to fight anyone the only time he actually showed true firebending was during the white lotus episode bro held back everyday ever since his son died
And also azula never showed powerful fire bending moves they were flashy and fatal but they weren’t as destructive, but what makes azula so great is the fact that she is an S tier fighter her hand to hand combat skills mixed with her blue flames makes her a dangerous foe and don’t forget the fact that she has immense speed and that’s just a huge advantage azula is a combat prodigy not a dragon like iroh or zuko azula just always bested zuko about what he lacked the most “hands”
Based on not much else but my own logic, I always liked to think Jeong Jeong was the most powerful firebender. Only drawback for this theory is simply the fact we don't see him bend too much. However, given how absolutely massive his bending was without comet enhancement, I think it's not too hard to imagine him being the most powerful firebender.
@@yoyo777 Depends on what one would mean by "the best" I guess. I'm pretty sure overall Ozai, Iroh, etc were more influential, maybe better strategists, maybe had more open mind (at least Iroh did) not to get disenchanted with the fire bending as a whole, but imo, when it comes to power my choice comes to Jeong Jeong.
Combustion Man is too high, that spot should go to either Mako or Korra And I think Avatar Wan should be above Aang based on the fact that Avatar Wan completely mastered Fire bending and was also defeating multiple experienced fire benders with ease
2:33 My theory; after returning from his training, Roku showed Sozin some techniques of bending and perhaps even taught him about the philosophies of other bending styles- much like Uncle Iroh’s lesson to Zuko. The bending style he uses seems to have an air bender stance and a water bender motion, so he is probably channeling the heat around the mountain top and directing the volcanic steam and gas with air pressures generated by that channeled heat. Perhaps if Roku was able to teach him more, he could have had a better outlook on other bending and therefore other nations.
Interesting theory! I think that could have something to do with it. Overall, I think Sozin before realizing his imperialist desires, was probably very knowledgeable about other bending techniques and the other nation’s cultures. As the firelord, he probably had to do those things.
@@AllAboutAvatar. it heavily looks like air bending, so it’s possible he learned some air nomad knowledge as he was planning the air temple raids. If fire bending can involve heat manipulation (like how in Fire Force the character Hibana can control heat waves as an aspect of her abilities) then he likely understands how to channel heat around air to guide it the ways he wants as a fake air bending method. Heat waves -> water bender arm style Hot air currents -> air bender footwork That’s just how i interpret it
IIRC Iroh specifically says that he would never confront Ozai, with reasoning along the lines that he does not want fire nation history to remember the tyranny of Ozai to be ended by his own family.
Everyone always sleeps on Mako's firebending prowess. Without writing too big off a wall: He's a pro-bending champion His team's Captain, above even Avatar Korra. He's fairly intelligent, a quick thinker, and naturally gifted, all as shown by his fights. He's the greatest lightning better we've seen in the entire series, bar none, with the fastest lightning generation, with the least effort, is one of only two characters that can both generate and redirect lightning, AND is the only character we've ever seen to be able to continually channel lightning. He defeated and killed Ming Hua in single combat, a Red Lotus waterbending master, who bodied Kya, Aang and Katara's own waterbending master daughter, pretty hard. He's the only non-waterbender to break out of a bloodbending grip. I don't understand why everyone puts him around B tier. His showings, especially in season one, but also beyond then, are better than most of what any other character in the show has accomplished, especially among firebenders. He would probably beat any character from either show, but especially the original show, that couldn't deal with his lightning bending, by that alone. As it's essentially a one hit kill/ko, in most cases, and with the speed as to which he can generate it, lol, well, yeah gg. Even if you think his firebending in particular's skills are not on the level of Azula, Iroh, etc, which I would disagree with but I'll hear you out, he should still be in S tier on his lightning alone. His firebending skills should be at least A tier, definitely above the likes of Zolt and Zhao, lol, and his lightning skills are like S+ tier so balance it out and put him in S.
He's not the greatest lightning bender, not even close. Azula is. She does stuff with lightning that he couldn't dream of doing. Azula also generates lightning faster than him. Only 2 characters who can generate and redirect lightning? Azula can too. Even the nameless fodders working with Mako could continuously channel lightning. Lightning bending seems to have been retconed in Korra and the comics, it hit people all the time and nobody wasn't even knocked out, it was one hit kill only in the original Last Airbender... or Mako's lightning is weak as hell and couldn't kill the bloodbender, while Azula was holding back to not kill Zuko in the comics ( which is quite possible considering the context ). Azula one shotted Avatar State Aang with lightning, killing him, Mako couldn't even knock the bloodbender off. Anyway read the comics, Azula is by far the best lightning bender, maybe Mako is the second best, though his lightning has never been show to have the power to kill which is the whole reason why lightning was so deadly in the original series, meanwhile Azula's was shown to kill in one hit and Iroh's and Ozai's were implied to do the same.
@@reinsaxony4623 Azula has consistently been shown to take the longest to use lightning in the series, of those that can generate it. And unless in new media, that I'm unaware of, she's been shown to redirect it, then she cannot. I wouldn't hold Mako not killing Amon against him, Amon was armored, compared to Aang who was in rags. And it's not like Mako was able to really charge it up, via moving his hands in the air and gathering energy. He did it while entirely restrained in a bloodbending grip. And Mako killed Ming Hua with lightning. Azula is the fourth best lightning bender, at best, and that's wanking her, and discrediting anyone from Korra's era because lightning was such widespread knowledge at that point. I won't defend Korra's writing, but lightning bending become common knowledge actually makes sense, as it made sense that the Fire Nation Royal Family probably kept the knowledge secret and suppressed, and with the fall of their tyranny, Zuko, (if he ever actually learned how, lol, since we never actually see him generate lightning), and Iroh would have spread the knowledge of the technique.
@@JawaThePwn Yes you're unaware of the comics. She can instant generate lightning, can quick generate, can generate an AOE lightning, can generate a huge lightning ball, can generate lightning with both hands like at the same time like Ozai could ( but instantaneous ) and can redirect. Nobody comes even close to her mastery of lightning bending. Armor, if anything, would just conduct the lightning better. Ming Hua got electrocuted by a huge amount of water which boosts lightning a lot. Azula is the GOAT lightning bender, there's no comparison with anyone else, again, read the Ursa comic and the Smoke and Shadow comic when she is sane again.
People seem to forget Azula was fourteen in the show. If she didn't lose her marbles and grew up all the way she would be number one hands down in my op
Korra is kinda underrated here. She solod three firebending teachers with ease, can create massive fire blasts that knock out a room full of equalists as well almost blowing up a sand shark, has jet propulsion and showed the best feats of defensive firebending, where she can just run through massive firewalls and easily blocks two firebenders attacking her at once.
I think she deserves master, but definitively not dragon, she has a lot of fire power, but in terms of technic, I think she lack, she has a lot of raw power and speed, but that's kinda it, she doesn't show that many advanced or different technics from other fire benders, she just have more raw power than most, so she is enough for a master, but I think she isn't as insane as a dragon
Comics Azula is the strongest firebender and overall non-Avatar bender/fighter ever. She was the only character able to defeat Aang master of 3 elements ( twice ) back in the original series and at the time of the comics she became a crazy lightning bender doing all sorts of insane stuff with it on point of being able to generate lightning instantly, and after recovering her sanity she even learned how to redirect lightning, she solo'd EoS Zuko with negative difficulty before proceeding to take multiple fighters at the same time and bitchslap Ty Lee who is the strongest non-bender of all, literally, in a brawl she bitchslapped Ty Lee.
that was not an official 1v1 they threw a 3 clashes fire in their hands “basically a hand to hand combat” and zuko tries to ask questions trying to talk to azula not subdue her which of course as smart as azula is the human genius takes advantage of zuko and takes him down there. Honestly that panel wasn’t really a good feat to prove that she can still beat zuko with ease because we know if zuko does have the intention to fight “like in the Agni kai” he’s no easy foe, plussss in that comic they are still about the same age not too far from the events of the Agni Kai so safe to say, we don’t know who would win after the events of the Agni Kai in an all out death battle. “ALTHOUGH” azula is more ruthless and more likely be out for blood unlike zuko would probably try to talk her out of it which gives him an advantage and a disadvantage
And also azula was never really that overpowered firebender like jeong jeong or iroh or ozai, she was just the best hand to hand combatant azula is a combat prodigy and strategist and her speed made her greater than any other foe she was to good of a fighter and too quick of a chick she was bound to be op even if she didn’t have fire and boom guess what She got the most broken version of fire bending “blue flames” which adds on to her being so great her combat skill was unmatched plus adding her flames gave her an advantage over everyone. Zuko honestly is definitely the better fire bender he is basically a fucking dragon who still hasn’t mastered much yet and still has more to learn. Azula is a flashy bender. She relies on her combat to make her fire bending relevant and zuko uses his knowledge from iroh and the dragons, and his overall understanding and connection of fire is far greater than azula ever will because she views fire as a weapon and a weapon only, zuko s time with the dragons taught him more than that like I said he is basically a dragon
@@reinsaxony4623 Oh, are you talking about that “easy victory” when Zuko defended May, tried to talk to Azula and was not hostile to her at all? Well, this is when he went hand-to-hand with her in a narrow dungeon space, without even trying to attack with his signature techniques, so as not to kill his sister?) It's up to you to accept it. Azula lost back in Agni Kai when she constantly ran away and dodged, and Zuko simply stood still and blocked any of her attacks. (Oh, and yes, in reality, most prodigies are surpassed by more hardworking people as they age).
@@ЮраСидоров-т4э You're coping hard aren't you. Azula was insane when she was losing the Agni Kai and had none of her Comics power ups. Azula beat him easily and without any context, 1v1.
Yeah, Sozin forcibly cools down the lava. Which I think should've put him a tier higher, because heat absorption is clearly an advanced technique. Not too advanced like lightning, but enough to put him in skilled benders tier.
7:09 You did not just put S4 Korra and Mako in prodigy. What??? The same guy that could breath fire, lightning bend and redirect. And the literal Avatar who could do huge fire blasts in and out of the Avatar state, fly with fire, has been training since she was 13, fire breath…like come on. Korra and Wan should be in Dragon tier and Mako master. You can’t tell me S3 Aang, S4 Korra and S4 Mako are in the same tier. That’s just viewing the shows through rose tinted glasses. 😂😂
The 4 dragon level fire benders: + Iroh is civilization, warmth, homefire, growth. - Ozai is war, anger, destruction, domination. ' Azula is lighting, young, the new fire, fast, precise, electric, dangerous, even her fire is blue. _ JeongJeong was fire, old, a primal bonfire, even older, a forestfire, fire without human, without control, fire for fire's sake, enormous, consuming, a force of Nature, uncontrolable. He Was fire, but now he knows what unbound fire does, it happened to him, he happened to his loved ones, he was the one who did it, and now he's always pulling his punches, afraid of hurting someone, of losing control, of himself, because he knows, he knows for sure what could happen, because it already happened, what he could do, what he already did.
The thing with Aang is we never really get to see how powerful he really is because at heart he's a pacifist and would never really put all his power into his attacks for fear of accidentally killing someone.
Korra would take Sparky man in a 1vs1 agni kai, even with his power she is far superior. She should be at master, you didn't put her with the excuse of lightning but some of the tier don't user lightning and are amazing. Her fire is amazing even without lightning. But is Korra, we shouldn't be surprised of people underestimating her abilities.
The writers of the show said ozai was the most powerful fire bender in the world🤨I mean I know we all love iroh but even the writers specifically stated that iroh would lose to ozai c'mon now
Yes good point, I was aware of the creators saying that. But still, we can theorize about what we are shown. They also hinted at Iroh potentially beating him and personally, I think he could. However, I agree that it is close and you can really choose either one.
@@AllAboutAvatar. yeah I get that and I can understand why you have certain characters low on your list because we haven't seen them fight enough but at the end of the day we all know that most of these firebenders on this list would get completely destroyed by Firelord sozin. I mean we don't need to see sozin firebend to know that mako would definitely lose to him
@@aestheticxyz2409 all of ozai's family are masters by born right. So sozin would destroy anyone lol. Think about it why else would they name the Comet after him. Also zuko technically should be considered advanced as he actually wasn't a master or a prodigy. He is just a good example of when hard work beats untrained talent. Hint hint his battle with azula showed that when she started to slip, zuko could match that
@@mario125ww I agree with you but I think zuko finally had achieved master status by the time he had his final battle with azula. He was at piece with in himself and had learned the true nature of firebending and had an actual lesson from the original masters the dragons. Also he could redirect lightning which is something only him aang and iroh had achieved. Also I agree that for most of the show he was advanced I mean even before he learned from the masters he was easily defeating most firebenders but I believe that to beat azula even a slipping crazy version that it would take a master and honestly if it wasn't for katara being there I think he easily would have defeated her because of the lighting redirection I mean aang almost killed ozai with his lightning redirection which forced ozai to complete stop using lightning and zuko even was able to fend off his father with the redirection technique. But even more so zuko still beat azula in simple firebending battle and one could say he has mastered neutral jing or however you spell that lol. I think he was advanced but once he learned from the dragons he became a master
There is no question that Ozai is more powerful and perhaps more skilled. But I would say Iroh is more controlled and more innovative. Ozai has the power and stamina to constantly use extremely powerful attacks in quick successions while Iroh takes his times and finds a balance.
I don't necessarily disagree with the rankings of Mako and Korra per say, but it's a bit weird because they're definitely like...about....200% better than the other people in their bracket/tier, so it's a bit weird to see who they're next to, even if they are technically ranked as above them in that tier. I don't know if I would call them 'Masters' though (and I don't even think **they** would call themselves that either), but I think I would almost make a tier for these two alone, just in between Prodigies and Master if that makes sense?
Jeong Jeong being Dragon is great, dude is a serious threat. The first soldier to leave the Fire Nation successfully (though forever wanted by the Fire Nation). I have a theory that Fire Lord Ozai knows exactly where he is at all times and just actively never sends anybody after him cause he knows what will happen if he does send an army. He doesn't even send Azula whom he know is more powerful than most if not all firebenders after him, and like Iroh he probably has perfect balace and a complete understanding of fire meaning he could use lightning but just doesnt because he doesnt find it necessary to his style.
The fact that the wall that took an entire army of fire benders, and a giant mechanical drill for an entire ARC to get through only took Iroh a single blast to completely destroy is proof alone that he deserves the top spot. Good list man!
As a proud Firebender enthusiast, even though I hated Ozai, I got to admit that his style of fighting is phenomenal! I mean two lightning whips? Jet propulsion? C'mon you cannot deny how awesome those abilities are in Firebending.... I cannot believe that Wan, the very person who first started the Avatar cycle, was a Firebender. All the more to love the Fire Nation.
he could generate lightning faster than azula, who is faster than iroh, with just a tiny sliver of the sun showing in the eclipse if that doesnt prove how OP this guy is then i dont know what will
Zuko being in the same tier as combustion man and general iroh is stupid as hell, especially when even in the comics zuko literally overpowers azula in many instances. He's relative to azula at the very minimum, that's why he's dragon tier
yeah, I think it makes a lot of sense, but I think Combustion Man shouldn't be so distant from Combustion Woman, of course she have more control over trajectory but her explosions were only a fraction of his, there is no comparison when it comes to power, I would still put her on top of him, but not by much
Interesting, I do feel like P'li has a lot of advantages. Not only can she bend the trajectory of her explosions and be a lot more precise. She was also a lot faster in her combustionbending. I also disagree that her combustion explosions were less powerful than those of combustion man. I'd say they are pretty much the same.
@@AllAboutAvatar. it's been quite some time I watched both shows but at least from what you show in the video and my memories, his explosions were a lot more powerful, mainly at his debut episode, I remember Toph putting enormous rock formations in his direction to be destroyed and Katara used flood levels of water just to be completely boiled with ease, P'li had her explosions stoped by door sized shields and a novice airbender just made a small whirlwind and evaded the damage
Uncle Iroh is no question the best firebender can firebend in whatever ways he likes, master tactician, great at combat, can generate and redirect lightning as well. How awesome that is
Iroh probly wouldn't lose to Ozai, I mean he could, like, lets say they fought 100 times... I feel Iroh wins like 66 times, or 2/3. But I do think Iroh is a superior bender, relying on the true nature of firebending.
Yeah agreed. If you paid attention you'll also know that Ozai merely became fire lord because of foul play and because Iroh just lost his son. Their father Azulon clearly knew Iroh was the better one and the more fitting heir to his throne hence why he got angry at Ozai for suggesting taking Irohs rightful place
As a major Mako fanboy, his ranking hurts me. I feel like he should at least get Master. His feats of Fire Bending are exceptional, and he was well-rounded in pretty much all his stats. Amazing control, technique, formidableness against stronger opponents, etc. An excellent combatant in all areas I'd say. Korra would get into Master if she could redirect lightning, so no reason Mako isn't Master considering his amazing ability and control. (I love Korra by the way, and understand her placement. Just feel like Mako deserves that much since he doesn't have her weakness in the style). I think Mako's ability to generate lightning is definitely important here since regardless of it's widespread practice, it's still a technique that requires emotional balance and control generate consistently, and Mako--regardless of what's going in his life--always seems to be in control when in a fight. I think that control is great strength for a Fire Bender even if they couldn't generate lightning for some reason simply because don't run the same risk of getting swept in emotion during combat which is universally a good thing. No argument on the other placements. He's my only issue. Great video regardless. I really enjoyed your in-depth analysis.
I think azula is the most powerful bender on the list If she matured a bit more, she’s only 15 and she’s incredible. Not to mention her fire is objectively hotter than everyone’s else
zuko and azula were equals at the end of ATLA. They are just like iroh and ozai, in both cases the younger sibling was naturally more powerful and relied on hatred and anger to fuel their firebending, while the older sibling was more controlled, trained with the dragons, and chose to fight for good. Also you didnt mention that zuko could use the dragon fire ability seen in the comics after he and aang met with the sun warriors.
You mean the same comic where Azula defeated zuko clear wash and where did you get that they were equals please Azula at her best is tactical that Azula at was not that.
@@dumisaniphiri they were equals, at the end of ATLA, they have several battles where neither one is clearly victorious or dominating the other. In the search zuko bests azula in an altercation, in smoke and shadow azula bests zuko in an altercation, soooooo yeah theyre equals
@@rmc6335 no they were not beating someone who is mentally struggling doesn't mean equal and besides Azula has better feats than zuko because we can clearly see that she ranks high in agility, IQ, battle IQ, power in comics she bested zuko as the fodder that he is, he has nothing.
@@dumisaniphiri he has strength, durability, determination, lightning redirection, dragonfire, mental stability, and better weapon mastery. You also act as if he doesnt have impressive feats of stealth, agility, and creativity as seen in episodes like the blue spirit, the boiling rock, and the southern raiders.
I think I saw a video from the official Avater UA-cam channel showing that Aang's firebending was actually better than his water and earth bending. I think firebending would be his second best element given he was able to easily produce before burning Katara, him meeting with the dragons and him being close friends with Zuko after the war.
I feel like Ozai is a more powerfull bender than Iroh, since he appeared to be superior in lightning generation, summoning a big lightning strike against Zuko, in contrast too the (wounded) Iroh slowly generating fire, which may be because Iroh was much more carefull than Ozai while working with lightning. Also, the firebending Ozai showed off during Sozin's comet seemed to be at a larger scale than Iroh's fireball was at Ba Sing Sé. I would still put Iroh in front of Ozai in pure skill, with his more defined firebending, but Ozai would win in sheer power, which Iroh is too scared for to use (maybe he would show more power in an actual fight).
I would also take into account that Aang could have killed Ozai by redirecting his lightning. A skill that Aang learned from Zuko, who learned from Iroh.
Sozin is using a technique that we see Iroh briefly mention to Zuko in the North Pole. It is essentially a heat transferral ability. Firebenders get their bending from the Sun, that’s how they produce fire, while water and earthbenders have to have the material in front of them. Essentially, they are “heat” bending not firebending, they take the heat from the sun and concentrate it to produce fire. In the North Pole, when Zuko is alone in the ice tunnel with the seal turtles, he finds a water passage and eventually runs into an ice blockage while completely submerged in the water. You cannot produce fire underwater, but you can produce heat. He heats up his hands, which glow red like fire would, and melts the ice to break his way through.
Sup Spinoy! Yeah, definitely agree with that. Zhao was actually a really good villain up until The Deserter episode. He imprisoned Aang, found out Zuko was the Blue Spirit and planned his 'end' (gotta keep it pg in the comment section ;)). Hope you enjoyed the vid bro.
Well, there was also the match against Zuko way at the beginning of the series, but that mostly showed him being overconfident/prideful and dishonorable, but a case could be made that the latter part of that could be anger problems. Though I agree that episode wasn't great for him, but I guess they needed someone as the example for Aang, and he definitely seemed like the kind of firebender that drew their power from rage rather than the breath. But he was still a good villain after that episode, that was just his low point.
Great video! just discovered this channel recently has been watching the video about the spirits and water-bender tier list back to back and really enjoyed it hahaha, im really interested in seeing your thoughts about a non-benders tier list in the future! keep up the goodwork haha
The fact that Azula only lost when she was mentally ill says a lot, she is capable of winning in every situation and she was able to hold avatar team during the eclipse without bending and kill the avatar
She technically didn't lose she won the Agni Kai even if it was dishonorable there is no Canon rule against it. She lost against Katara who some how mastered water bending in 2 months of training which is mad
Roku blocking 6 fire shots at once, lava bending the temple and most importantly, melting the chains off everyone without burning them easily puts him in dragon for me
@@sr_echo I think it's kinda like 'mudbending' since Lava has both Earth and Fire elements in it (or heat, I suppose). So both earth and fire benders should be able to master it
In the comics we do see Zuko beat Azula in a fair fight for the first time but more importantly we see him bend rainbow fire similar to the dragons fire bending. With your reasoning for putting Iroh over Ozai I think it would be fair to put Zuko at the top of master.
Nope later azula slammed him and learned to redirect lightning after only seeing him once, and she’s a master in hand to hand as she beat suki and Ty lee at the same time azula slams mid diff
It wasnt fair tho, yeah azula got a bit better but she has been stuck it the asylum for year without any practice and also she didnt fully recover her state of mind, she was still broken and mentally fucked up even in comics
As to what Sozin was doing, he was bending the heat. He pulled the heat out of the lava and directed it away causing it to cool on the surface and crust over faster. Pretty simple. Firebenders can bend heat. Look at Zuko in the north pole. He bent heat to warm himself. They say chi. But it’s heat bending. Fire bending is bending the heat of flames.
Bending in Korra is undermined, I don't really think it's fair to put them on the same list, as in ATLA at all. Since you see completely regular fire benders bend lighting, they're clearly not playing by the same rules.
I know Iroh has fire breath and asked if they knew why they called him Dragon of the West but the real reason is because he “supposedly” killed the last of the dragons. Even then he isn’t stronger than Ozai and the Zuko/Roku disrespect is real in this video lol
I would switch Mako and Korra to MASTER, over Sparky man. The thing about Mako firebending is that is very precise and modern but that doesn't mean it is not powerful. He is able to create, control/redirect lightning, his style is phenomenal and is smart too. He should be at master too but I see him and Korra being underrated here.
The tier should be: AZULA Dragon Master Prodigies Advanced Not enough scars made Azula deserves her own exclusive category over all the top. The best and most talented firebender with absolute no shade of doubt. Her fighting style is the deadliest. She literally dominated all the abilities and showed even more. Ligthning, fire breath like Iroh, jet of fire like Jeong-Jeong. She created a fire shield blocking attacks of all the elements and disappeared in front of Aang, Zuko, Katara, Sokka and TOPH, like she teleported. She OWNED Aang more than once. She was able to create blue fire, the hottest fire. She was so calm and cold that she was able to outwit Toph. Her mind strength was so great that she was able to use lightning while she was having a mental breakdown, Iroh stated that to use lightning it requires mental peace from the user. Every firebender shoots fire using their whole fist, Azula was able to shoot fire using just two fingers and her shots were so fast that she knocked Iroh down before he could even react. And she was just 14 years old! No one could defeat Azula at her full capacity in a 1v1.
When does Azula ever went back to a barely normal mental state after the animated series? Plus she had in mind to shape Zuko into a "better" fire lord, not going all out on him.
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" isn't just a show; it's a journey I've embraced repeatedly, discovering new magic in bending and the strength of friendship with every episode. Each rewatch unveils deeper layers in characters, relationships, and the intricate world they inhabit. From Aang's self-discovery to Zuko's redemption, I've laughed, cried, and cheered alongside them. Sokka's wit and Appa reuniting with Aang are pure joys. The show's seamless blend of humor, action, and heartfelt moments is sheer brilliance. It's not just a series; it's woven into my story, reminding me of balance, resilience, and the power of change. This isn't just a three-time watch; it's an adventure I'll gladly revisit.
I love lists like this. Only thing I disagree with is Azula being in the dragon tier, personally I'd put her just under Roku... She's a strong bender but don't confuse being a good fighter with being a good bender... Also Ozai is for sure the strongest bender we've see despite how sad that is to say!
About Ozai creating large amounts of fire, he got the from the comet. It amplified his power. But also Sozin should be way higher up since he used the comets power as well to wipe the air nation.
Yes, but compared to other firebenders (Azula, Zuko and Jeong Jeong), the fire that Ozai produced is beyond incredible. Concerning the second part of your comment, we didn't see Sozin wipe out the air nation by himself. We don't know how powerful he really is. That is why he is in the not enough scars made tier. Nevertheless, Sozin is probably really powerful, we just don't really know.
Its a shame that novels character arent here. Rangi, the teacher and girlfriend of Kiyoshi is the only fire bender in avatar history able to bend white fire (the hottest fire of all) Is said that was so hot that was almost a laser, and was a extremely skilled fighter, great shape, amazing overall, Rangi es top 2 EZ
That is true! I am reading the comics one by one. I really want to read them in order and in their physical form. However, they're so expensive... so I have to wait before reading all of them :) Hope you understand.
This ranking got me Hot... See what I did there. Azula should be second only to her father, only because she is ruthless. If you put Azula against Iroh I can say for a fact Iroh will hold back simply because Azula is His niece. Azula will see red eventually leaving Iroh to see his Son....
Overall one of the most precise tierlists I've seen, very nicely done, placing Roku got me thinking for a while, but after rewatching him creating a huge fire blast without using the avatar state when he learned all the elements, I think you're right. Also, does him destroying the Fire temple means he is a lavabender?)
Ok, he is not lavabender in the same sense Bolin is a lavabender, he can bend lava because he is both firebender and earthbender, Kyoshi also bended lava at one point I think.
Wish we got to see and learn more about flying with fire bending Cause I think that it’s cool as heck The best case I’ve seen is actually with jeong jeong cause unlike the others who just actively propelled themselves mid air, he was able to easily Levitate with it
In the comics, Zuko can also bend fire with all the different colours like the dragons so it's not just Azula who can bend colourful fire. Also I'd say Mako could be a master, considering how much he can do without ever having "proper" training in his life (I'm assuming).
@@Lighty-rn4ns Part 1 Smoke and Shadow. When Ukano and the New Ozai group attack Zuko's family. They all target their fire at Zuko, thinking that he wouldn't survive. But Zuko firebends it in the way that the dragons taught him and saves himself + his family. He creates a powerful colourful fire.
@@Abhaaa I've reread what you said. And yeah,he showed colorful flame. But the fact that Zuko showed such a multicolored flame once doesnt mean that he can use the blue flame permanently during a battles. If he could do it, he would shown it at least once later. He had many chances to demonstrate this in a battle with strong opponents. But he didn't show it. Zuko doesn't know how to use advanced blue flames all the time in the battle. Only Azula can do it.
Interesting. Given you went by who you saw bend most I was surprised you didn’t put Jeong Jeong lower. I’d like to see these lists not by who you saw bend their element the most but who was clearly a master. Perfect example of that is Jeong Jeong.
Hi bro, I think you misunderstood the point. I rank them by how strong they are. However, I need to see a minimum of bending the respective element to properly rank them. That is why Jeong Jeong is high, we know he is extremely powerful from what we’ve seen on screen. Hope that explains it

Can you make a video about the history of the fire Nation?
So yeah
the fact that people think zuko is stronger than her just because is loved is absurd
@@rhythmicmusicswap4173 honestly its annoying. people chose on instinct and without thinking and any thinking they do is baseline. my favorite baseless feat is:
"zuko got trained by the dragons" (I'm about to rant)
first off he did not get trained by the dragons, the dragons shot fire at him and showed him visions of the true purpose of fire, giving him a new drive.
secondly, meeting ran and shaw only gave him a new motive for firebending and he picked up the dancing dragon on the way.
thirdly, zuko and iroh said outright that azula was simply too much for him to take alone, zuko only agreed to fight her himself because she was off.
*minor side rant: people have this very childlike and stupid notion that iroh and zuko are the only ones who bend without anger or rage and that they're the only ones who mastered breathing. breath control is a FUNDEMENTAL of firebending and all masters have learned how to control their breathing. additionally, every firebender we see save for zhao (with a name) is able to bend without anger. rage and harmony are not the only ways to fuel firebending. it is fueled by passion, emotion, ambition and willpower.
sorry for the rant. you cut a hole in the baloon and I just went all out
And her mom.
It is likely that Uncle Iroh held back, since he didnt want to kill people ore do unnecessary property damage, so he is probably a lot stronger than he seams

@@AllAboutAvatar. He is called the Dragon of the West for a reason.

@@andrewferguson6901 ozai never would've got captured is my point lmao, and ozais shown the biggest fire breathe in the series besides aang

I agree, without the comet, he showed the greatest firebending feats!
something people don’t consider with Jeong Jeong is that on top of being able to generate massive flames, he was also shown to have absolutely incredible skill manipulating existing flames. I think one of his subtle flexes is in one of the first scenes we get with him, where he makes several candle at once become geysers of flame. We almost never see firebenders controlling more than one flame at once.
@@that_guy1186put some respect on zukos name, when he was meditating and iroh was like i have bad news, he made his meditation candles spew fire
this was very old zuko though, arguably still skilled but not a master - so i doubt making candles burst into flames is that impressive of a feat. just playing devils advocate i do agree jeong jeong is hella good
And if I am not wrong Jeong Jeong is the only firebender that created flames without phisical contact with fire.
Every firebenders fire comes from hands, or mouth or some part of their body bud Jeong Jeong created fire coming out of ground.
iroh said he was not sure if he could beat his brother. the thing is, iroh is humble asf

Someone as smart as Iroh would know whether he’s strong enough to defeat Ozai
I don’t know why it’s hard to believe that Ozai is stronger.
@P N because he simply isn't. Iroh has the single greatest feat of firebending in the series, that's no coincidence. Also iroh specifically stated that it was not right for him to beat Ozai, it had nothing to do with him saying he couldn't.
@@qGods what feat did we see Iroh do?
People do the same with toph and katara
I think its fine for anyone to say Iroh = Ozai based on iroh's statement, the problem with scaling Iroh is his feats are always going to be nerfed by his control and pacifism. he wasnt trying to melt ba sing se, he was trying to blow open a wall. ozai goes all out multiple times because he has no restraint
@@yoyo777 I’d say Katara is underrated and Toph is easily one of the best benders of all time I think the only other earthbenders who beat her are Kyoshi and Kuvira but Kuvira and her soldiers retreaded when Toph showed up while the Beifongs were fighting her and Toph went toe to toe with Bumi when she was still young
i agree in terms of who'd win in a fight, but in terms of who's a better firebender, i reckon iroh's open mind (taking techniques from water bending) and actual genius-level smarts - lets not forget he developed an entire new firebending technique just. casually. - make him the winner. ozai is more powerful, but can't be named better because his bigoted views restrict him
(if that makes sense?)
Plus hes just more mobile and agile.
Good point!

Yeah for real. Born a waterbender but a firebender at heart.
no, its just that korra was restricted to fire and air bending for most situations becuase she didn't ahve water nearby. whenever she finds water she uses it and does massive feats even without avatar state
She sucked with it though. All she ever did was a normal fireball punch. She never showed any impressive fire bending.
Glad general Iroh wasn't forgotten. Though his prescence was brief, he did some extremely impressive things.
Yup
His tea humor is also the best, whenever he made jokes it was so funny fr
He was my favorite character from Korra!
@@umm890I think they’re referring to General Iroh from Korra and not Uncle Iroh from the last air bender.
What I want to know is did zuko learn lightning
@@thecensoredmuscle563Yes, indeed. Completely explains why Zuko never presented himself as fighting Ozai ALONE.
@@Anton17335yes
No tf he did not 😂 zuko has no talent js luck
Considering we only ever saw Aang firebend with very limited training I’d say that’s a good ranking

You can't put combustion man as a master and leave Marko a tier below tbh
@@opeoluwakuku5056yeah mako as fire Bender is really good, but his lightning capabilites are even better
Yeah I agree he did Roku dirty
Avatar kyoshi did lava bending before him
And avatar Szeto did before Kyoshi
@kurtis521 sure doesn't feel that way.
Iroh was the most powerful 15yrs,
maybe even little bit sooner, 10yrs earlier before the start of series, but due to Ozai’s ambition and traininghe finally got the upper hand on Iroh.
If we're talking about the most powerful firebender, it's definitely Ozai. Iroh is a better firebender because he incorporates other styles and philosophies into his bending, making him well rounded.
Also, Iroh outright stated that he wasn't sure he could beat Ozai
@@lucaslacer5366 I assumed that was mainly due to the fact he didn't like the idea of killing people.
Azula is the most powerful firebender. Ozai is featless. Next.
@@randomidk8781 with a sliver of the sun,Ozai generated deadly lightning inside a mountain bunker.
It should be noted that Azula's mental state did recover somewhat in the comics with her even gaining the Lightning Redirection ability as well.
Katara beat azula in every encounter they had
Based on not much else but my own logic, I always liked to think Jeong Jeong was the most powerful firebender. Only drawback for this theory is simply the fact we don't see him bend too much. However, given how absolutely massive his bending was without comet enhancement, I think it's not too hard to imagine him being the most powerful firebender.
He is the strongest but not the best
I also think jeong jeong is underrated.
I feel Jeont Jeont is the most precise firebender (other than maybe Azula) but not the most powerfuk
@@yoyo777 Depends on what one would mean by "the best" I guess. I'm pretty sure overall Ozai, Iroh, etc were more influential, maybe better strategists, maybe had more open mind (at least Iroh did) not to get disenchanted with the fire bending as a whole, but imo, when it comes to power my choice comes to Jeong Jeong.
when it comes to raw power he stomps
Combustion Man is too high, that spot should go to either Mako or Korra
And I think Avatar Wan should be above Aang based on the fact that Avatar Wan completely mastered Fire bending and was also defeating multiple experienced fire benders with ease
Right
2:33 My theory; after returning from his training, Roku showed Sozin some techniques of bending and perhaps even taught him about the philosophies of other bending styles- much like Uncle Iroh’s lesson to Zuko.
Heat waves -> water bender arm style
Hot air currents -> air bender footwork
That’s just how i interpret it
The general iroh bait got me bruhhhhh
IIRC Iroh specifically says that he would never confront Ozai, with reasoning along the lines that he does not want fire nation history to remember the tyranny of Ozai to be ended by his own family.
Everyone always sleeps on Mako's firebending prowess. Without writing too big off a wall:
He's a pro-bending champion
His team's Captain, above even Avatar Korra.
I absolutely agree
@@reinsaxony4623 Yh I don’t think he’s the best but definitely underrated nonetheless
Combustion man literally kicked zuko's ass and threw him off a cliff while simultaneously fighting team Avatar.
Uncle iroh would win 100%
Less than fifty percent

Did u know Brock Lesnar?
People seem to forget Azula was fourteen in the show. If she didn't lose her marbles and grew up all the way she would be number one hands down in my op
Korra is kinda underrated here. She solod three firebending teachers with ease, can create massive fire blasts that knock out a room full of equalists as well almost blowing up a sand shark, has jet propulsion and showed the best feats of defensive firebending, where she can just run through massive firewalls and easily blocks two firebenders attacking her at once.
i rewatched the series the other day and for a waterbender avatar, korra really loved her fire and used it a lot
@@ClxoudyRxin You're coping hard. That is a comic, they can't animate fights or make them long, they fought and Azula won easily, deal with it.

It's up to you to accept it. Azula lost back in Agni Kai when she constantly ran away and dodged, and Zuko simply stood still and blocked any of her attacks.

2:41- sozin is actually taking away heat, not smoke. Similar to how the show shows air being bent, it also shows heat being controlled
That's a great point bc heat is related to infrared light, and that's maybe a fire bending specialty

Korra and Wan should be in Dragon tier and Mako master.
You can’t tell me S3 Aang, S4 Korra and S4 Mako are in the same tier.
That’s just viewing the shows through rose tinted glasses.
😂😂
The 4 dragon level fire benders:
+ Iroh is civilization, warmth, homefire, growth.
This is a really cool outlook
I am CACKLING at “evil son of a” “HONOR”
The thing with Aang is we never really get to see how powerful he really is because at heart he's a pacifist and would never really put all his power into his attacks for fear of accidentally killing someone.
Korra would take Sparky man in a 1vs1 agni kai, even with his power she is far superior.
She should be at master, you didn't put her with the excuse of lightning but some of the tier don't user lightning and are amazing.
Her fire is amazing even without lightning.
But is Korra, we shouldn't be surprised of people underestimating her abilities.
I know this isn't part of the series but Azula was shown to be able to redirect lighting in the comics.
Jeong Jeong feels too high to me. He made a big fire wall but even Zhao was able to walk through it.
Nah Jeong Jeong is capable of much more than fire walls
To me Mako is definitely bottom of master tier.
Sozin’s Comet but yeah
As a proud Firebender enthusiast, even though I hated Ozai, I got to admit that his style of fighting is phenomenal!
I mean two lightning whips? Jet propulsion?
C'mon you cannot deny how awesome those abilities are in Firebending....
I cannot believe that Wan, the very person who first started the Avatar cycle, was a Firebender.
All the more to love the Fire Nation.
he could generate lightning faster than azula, who is faster than iroh, with just a tiny sliver of the sun showing in the eclipse

@@AllAboutAvatar. No, thank you brother 🥇🔝
Hmmm, actually, I think you might have a point. I'm going to keep an eye on that in my next rewatch of both series (which will start in 2 weeks).
@@DiscusvissenRocken No... He was going to give Iroh the thronw simply because he was the eldest son. Nothing more.
Ozai crushes Iroh. Who really cares though.
The show creators said otherwise.
Ozai is literally said to be the strongest fire bender
Sozin’s volcano move was that he was able redirect the heat from the lava, cooling it down as you can see it start to harden in the crater

I don't like what they did to zhao. He seemed so calm and ambitious but for some reason they just turned him into a yelling mess
Thank you for your kind comment
Iroh's strength comes not only from knowing how to fight, but knowing when to fight
I think iroh would win given his additional experience and training but the difficulty would be high
Remember that in the second season both, Iroh and Zuko, were afraid of fighting Azula. She is the strongest firebender
Yeah, *second season* meaning that it used to be true and no longer is
The fact that Azula only lost when she was mentally ill says a lot, she is capable of winning in every situation and she was able to hold avatar team during the eclipse without bending and kill the avatar
She technically didn't lose she won the Agni Kai even if it was dishonorable there is no Canon rule against it. She lost against Katara who some how mastered water bending in 2 months of training which is mad
No Kyoshi? I think she deserves to be added.
Roku blocking 6 fire shots at once, lava bending the temple and most importantly, melting the chains off everyone without burning them easily puts him in dragon for me
That was all done in a spirit avatar state form…
isn't lava bending technically earthbending?
@@sr_echo I think it's kinda like 'mudbending' since Lava has both Earth and Fire elements in it (or heat, I suppose). So both earth and fire benders should be able to master it
@@bugcatcherjacky1334 lava is molten rock(earth), there's no fire elements, it's literally just rock.
@@Noan947 But it's incredibly hot and burns things on impact so
Bro! You got me when you said Iroh on the Masters list. 😂 I was about to drop some mad hate.
You putting Iroh first shows you really understand the show, respect
In the comics we do see Zuko beat Azula in a fair fight for the first time but more importantly we see him bend rainbow fire similar to the dragons fire bending. With your reasoning for putting Iroh over Ozai I think it would be fair to put Zuko at the top of master.
Nope later azula slammed him and learned to redirect lightning after only seeing him once, and she’s a master in hand to hand as she beat suki and Ty lee at the same time azula slams mid diff
@@gamechameleon2436 Where did she redirect lightning?
Nope… azula beat zuko and again it wasn’t fair… she’s been years out of commissions by that time and her bangs were still a mess
@@Lady_Sherin Comics
It wasnt fair tho, yeah azula got a bit better but she has been stuck it the asylum for year without any practice and also she didnt fully recover her state of mind, she was still broken and mentally fucked up even in comics
As to what Sozin was doing, he was bending the heat. He pulled the heat out of the lava and directed it away causing it to cool on the surface and crust over faster. Pretty simple. Firebenders can bend heat. Look at Zuko in the north pole. He bent heat to warm himself. They say chi. But it’s heat bending. Fire bending is bending the heat of flames.
Korra is a better firebender from what we’ve seen. She is a beast
I would love to see a teir list of non benders next. Interested in seeing where the equalitst Lieutenant lands.
Kind of surprised Mako didn’t make master tier. I thought he showed enough
In hindsight, I should've put Mako in master tier.. that's the only change I would make to the list. Great point!
Мако не мастер. Он в принципе сильнейший из всех магов огня
Ozai is the epitome of his element, but Iroh is something more.
The tier should be:
AZULA
Dragon
Master
Prodigies
Advanced
Not enough scars made
Azula deserves her own exclusive category over all the top.
In the comics Zuko beat azula in a fair 1v1 while she was in a normal mental state
When does Azula ever went back to a barely normal mental state after the animated series? Plus she had in mind to shape Zuko into a "better" fire lord, not going all out on him.
@@aleatheltrashcan478 After she was imprisoned, in a straightjacket, and out of practice. Smoke and Shadow comic Azula beats Zuko.
@@kemynejire3144 Azula beats Ozai? The dumbest take.
@@dro4462 No, it's not. Azula is the greatest prodigy in the fire nation history and the most talented.
Too be a firebender and know both lightning generation and redirection like Iroh must be deady
The Myth.... The Man.... The Legend.... IROH!!!
Combustion man should swap with Korra or Mako. Aang only really used fire in the avatar state. We didn't see much as it was late in the season
This dude has the weirdest criteria
Haha, how so my bro?
This ranking got me Hot... See what I did there. Azula should be second only to her father, only because she is ruthless. If you put Azula against Iroh I can say for a fact Iroh will hold back simply because Azula is His niece. Azula will see red eventually leaving Iroh to see his Son....
you really bring over a circus guy with like 4 min screentime instead of that one 'riot' guy that helped sokka and zuko in boiling rock
Dammnn true, forgot about Tjitsang.. he's pretty fly
Dude I love these videos! Great job
Thanks bro
replacing bleep with "honour" is too pure. LOL
Wish we got to see and learn more about flying with fire bending
Cause I think that it’s cool as heck
The best case I’ve seen is actually with jeong jeong cause unlike the others who just actively propelled themselves mid air, he was able to easily Levitate with it
Yeah, cuz it was Sozin's comet
Uncle Iroh simply have mastered himself, he is a peaceful character, that is what puts him on top of the list
In the comics, Zuko can also bend fire with all the different colours like the dragons so it's not just Azula who can bend colourful fire. Also I'd say Mako could be a master, considering how much he can do without ever having "proper" training in his life (I'm assuming).
Zuko can't bend fire with all different colors. He never showed something like that
@@Lighty-rn4ns He does it in the comic "Smoke and Shadow". Read it for yourself if you think I'm lying 🤦♀️
@@Abhaaa I'v read it. But I don't remember something like that. Tell me the chapter
Melon 🍈 lord #1
Interesting. Given you went by who you saw bend most I was surprised you didn’t put Jeong Jeong lower. I’d like to see these lists not by who you saw bend their element the most but who was clearly a master. Perfect example of that is Jeong Jeong.
Hi bro, I think you misunderstood the point. I rank them by how strong they are. However, I need to see a minimum of bending the respective element to properly rank them. That is why Jeong Jeong is high, we know he is extremely powerful from what we’ve seen on screen. Hope that explains it
If that’s the case, why is General Iroh ranked higher than zuko. We barely saw him bend.
@@captincyclone23 Because it’s Iroh 🐉🍵💗
