I love this Adaptation of Zuko. He’s on point accurate while still being a little bit different. He’s more hardened and fierce, but also still human as well. Especially when you can see the pain in his eyes and hear it in his voice. The Agni Kai took place with him fighting not because of fear, but because he did not want to disappoint or shame his father. He still showed compassion and hesitation because he did not truly want to harm his father. And even though Ozai beat him he still burned him regardless. With not a single once of emotion or remorse. Stared upon his own action as if it were a work of art. Zuko in this adaptation is just as good if not more so.
Read that this actor has a martial arts background and it shows in every scene, your eye is immediately drawn to him when he starts moving to the point where even though the fire is CGI, his movements make it feel so natural.
7:05 What a sight! You can really see the agression on his face, voice and movements. It projects the power and stength of his firebending so amazingly.
no his face is too chubby, he doesn't have a jawline and he isn't musculature at all and is also too dark, zuko in the show is really pale as are all firenation-ers, the only dark skinned people are some earth benders and southern water tribe
@@tomber7411 ? He embodies Zuko's rage and innocence perfectly. Looking like the role isn't necessary as much acting it out is and Dallas is doing it amazingly.
Dallas just made me love Zuko even more than I already do! I can't imagine anyone else that could play Zuko and he even sounds sm like the og voice actor! And I love that I get to see this Zuko incorporate hand to hand combat with his firebending! And to top it all off, both Zukos are so fine!😍🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like the show. Characters are good, the cast is great. I'm not easily pleased by live action adaptations. I like it so far. Uncle Iroh is just as good as the original.
The flash of his skills in martial arts in the trailer is what got me really excited for this show. He portrays a really soft Zuko with clear emotions. Just a lost, hurt boy desperately trying to act tough but is self-aware and hates how he has to be tough in order to please his father. Truly emphasized his character. They were lucky to have casted him, and you can tell he's really passionate on trying to get his role right.
I think live action firebending is the easiest to get right, because of its aggression, and fight scenes look great being aggressive Airbending and waterbending, i feel suffers from this, because they're meant to be the 'softer' elements. Katara in this show, waterbends like a firebender being very aggressive and not fluidly reverses the force of the enemy
I think they also messed up the water bending with Katara because they didn’t give her a master so you never see her learn out the roots of water bending. That’s why she’s always more aggressive instead of flowing.
@@aaronmontgomery2055very nit picky, it’s a tv show not a 2 hour movie where they can go crazy on the cgi, it would be even more expensive than it already is
@Andrew-qi7wc are you telling me the earth bending looked good? My real problem is the writing. Everything was tell and not show in a bad way. The character writing was dry and long. It felt melded together badly.
My only issue with the fire bending is the lack of closed fists when doing the bending, most of the time in the original show firebenders struck with their fists rathers than their palms which looked alot cooler and more accurate to the martial art fire bending is based on.
Also a minor gripe of mine. They slightly changed the way firebending works. The fire comes out of the palm in this show, and they often hold the fire in their hand and then throw it. It's disappointing to me, because it comes closer to a typical depiction of fire magic, and loses some of what makes firebending unique. I still think it looks solid though.
@@Nobody-tt4uh Not sure exactly what moment you're refering to, but it is possible in the cartoon at least. I found that Aang usually firebends with a flat open palm.
I love the influence Taekwondo had on the Firebending style. The mic of the strong powerful strikes and the flashy, spinning kicks was actually pretty accurate to what it’s like to get to practice the martial art.
Zuko's fighting stile is just so intense, sometimes too intense , like wtf lol did he really need to do this 1:52 to grab that stick ? 🤣 great martial art display though 🙏
I love his fights so much! He is the best lead actor in this series. Netflix should give Zuko more screen time & epic fights in S2 & S3. Hopefully they can manage Azula actor to match Dallas Liu’s skill cause I’m most excited to see their fights specially the final agni kai.
I actually love how Sokka held his own against Zuko for a little bit instead of getting knocked around in less than 2 seconds like in the cartoon. I bet by the end of the show he might actually be able to fight on par with Zuko.
in case people complaining about fire not burning remember it s just spiritual energy wave shaped like fire so it depends on what the firebender goal is to burn or hit hard and incapacitate his oponent he ll shape it like that
The fire effect could have been more believable if there had been less sparks and smokes, because sparks and smokes come from burning solid materials, aren’t they? However, fire that is created from firebending as we know it in the Avatar lore comes NOT from burning solid materials, but it can be created in the air without burning anything except for the air itself/oxygen. Thus, less sparks and less smokes, at least dark smokes.
Unlike in the cartoon, Ozai doesn't underestimate Zuko, he knows how powerful his son is. He sees Zuko as an extension of himself and believes that everything Zuko is is a part of himself that he needs to cut off.

He even got the 'grunts' of animated Zuko.

fire bending was the cleanest out of the 4 in terms of animation.
As an artist fire is easiest to animate, water the hardest
Dallas is so good at the choreography. Also 0:33 that moment during the fight between Aang & Zuko was sooo good
black belter thats why
Their non-bending fight in Omashu is perfect ❤
This actor is going to be the next big action star! He’s tooooo sweet!!!
Like the show where Zuko was using anger and hatred to firebend.
They definitely cast the right person
Honestly it's so much better then the movie where they need fire around or not they can't firebend
