This adds a sobering understanding of the commandment, "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain", when you believe and call yourself a Christian.
These concepts really help me realize just how unfathomably great God is. The concept of God goes far beyond what we think we understand. The name alone has so much depth. For Him to be so great yet so loving with us is really a testament to His character.
Everything he says is twisted by false trinitarian dogma and false equivalence that he plays you on. So what are you so thankful of?

@@lanegregory6367 The “angel” (Heb. Malak = “messenger”) is no ordinary angel. Nor is he Moses or Joshua, though both were foreshadowing Christ. Only God can pardon sins. This angel “won’t” not “can’t” forgive. This unusual “angel” is mentioned elsewhere in Scripture. Malachi referred to the Angel of the Covenant (3:1). God’s name is in Him, not Joshua. The people were to “obey his voice” and that included Joshua. Jesus, the Logos (Word of God) is the Author of our salvation, not Joshua. Before He came, Jews may have guessed that this angel was Joshua, and indeed Jesus shares that name, meaning “salvation.” But Jesus is the unique Messenger of God, who pardons sin and whom Moses explained would be the final Prophet. God commands us all to “listen to Him” (Deut. 18:15).

Thank you for this teaching from the Jewish perspective. Alot of us Christians do not revere the name of the Lord our God with reverence.
No wonder that the 3rd of the ten commandments forbids the misuse of the name of the Lord our God.
I have learnt something new today.
Heiser explains in another video the meaning of the 3rd commandment about taking the Lord's name i vain. It is not profanity, cursing or being irreverent as many think. It goes far beyond that. Heiser explains that when someone comes to faith, they are saved and born-again, they "TAKE" the name of the Lord. We call ourselves "Christians". This idea perfectly matches the exhortation of the Apostles to live in such a way that it gives glory to God. For we have His Name!

In the New Testament, those who have been baptized in "The Name" ... the name of Jesus Christ, have God's name in them as well. See Acts 2:38:
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
notice its says baptize them in the name (the one name)
but 3 persons are mentioned - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
so why does it not say baptize them in the names (plural - 3 names of the 3 persons)

Should a Christian really follow the example of modern Jews regarding whether to pronounce the name of God?
Ancient inspired Jews used God's name YHWH (English Jehovah) all of the time. It is in the Hebrew Bible nearly 7,000 times!
(Joel 2:32) "everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved"
This is verse repeated for Christians at Romans 10:13. Using God's name is a requirement for salvation.
If Jehovah did not want people to use his name he would not have told it to them.
(Exodus 3:15) Jehovah . . . has sent me to you. This is my name to time indefinite.
Jews not speaking God's name is a misapplication of Exodus 20:7 "You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way."
It wasn't commanding not to use God's name at all, but simply not to be disrespectful in using it, such as in cursing or swearing to something falsely.
Boaz would say to his field workers, "Jehovah be with you" and they would reply, "Jehovah bless you." (Ruth 2:4)
Isaiah 12:4 says "Give thanks to Jehovah, you people! Call upon his name."
Sadly, many follow that Jewish custom and have even removed God's name from their Bibles and substituted with "LORD" everywhere YHWH is in Hebrew.
The King James only left God's name Jehovah in 4 places. Exodus 6:3; Psalms 83:18; Isaiah 12:2 & 26:4
This has made God impersonal to many and creates confusion as to who is being spoken of since Jesus and others are also spoken of as "lord."
Psalms 110:1 Jehovah declared to my Lord "Sit at my right hand . . ."
is much clearer than KJV "The LORD said unto my Lord."
Luke explains that Jehovah is here speaking to Jesus. (Acts 2:34-36)
Saying "God's name is in him" is no endorsement of the Trinity doctrine.
Jesus is "the Word of God." He is Jehovah's representative.
(John 8:28) Jesus then said . . . "I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me, I speak these things."
This does not make him God any more than it makes Moses God.
Exodus 7:1 Consequently Jehovah said to Moses: "See, I have made you God to Pharaoh"
Verse 2 "You will speak all the things that I shall command you."

Messiah raised Himself up from the dead, which only the most high יהוה Yahuah the Almighty can do!
The second witness was :
2 Corinthians 6 : 16, And what union has the Dwelling Place of El,Elohim(God) with idols? For ((you)) are a Dwelling Place of the living El,Elohim, as El,Elohim has said, “I shall dwell ((in them)) and walk among them, and I shall be their El,Elohim, and they shall be My people.” 17, Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה Yahuah and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you. 18, “And I shall be a ((Father)) to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says יהוה Yahuah the Almighty.”
And יהושע Yahusha Ha-Mashiach (Christ) is the Temple in which the Name הוה Yahuah most high dwells, He is the ((I am)) that raised Himself from the dead, & will be a Father to all who love Him, follow Him & keep His/the Fathers commandments, & those who follow Him in spirit & truth, are also apart of that Temple of the Redeemer; His living Temple stones :
1 Peter 2:5, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to El, Elohim through יהושע Yahusha Ha-Mashiach (Christ).
More proof in scripture : (after Philip ask Mashiach to show him the Father) :
John 14 : 9-11, יהושע Yahusha answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10, Do you not believe that ((I am)) in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works. 11, Believe Me that ((I am)) in the Father and the Father is in Me-or at least believe on account of the works themselves
Note : the 2 'I am's' here in John 14 : 10-11
Isaiah here also tells us the coming Mashiach(Christ) will be the Father in the flesh :
Isaiah 9:6, For a Child shall be born unto us, a Son shall be given unto us, and the rule is on His shoulder. And His Name is called Wonder, Counsellor, Strong Ěl, Father of Continuity, Prince of Peace.
All Praise to the most high, the Redeemer & Father & Creator of all things in heaven & in the earth : יהוה Yahuah El, Elohim.

Were did you get the written forms "Yahuah" and "Yahusha" from? I've seen them a lot lately, but I don't know who or what source originated and popularized the form.
@@Moshugaani my understanding is the original name was given to Moses by Abba Father Himself as YHVH (Yod Heh Vav Heh). These are all consonants. Later the V (Vav) was given a “W” sound. So people refer to YHVH as Yahuah or Yahweh.I listened to a Rabbi teach when he asked Father to reveal His sacred name with vowels, he was given “YaHaVaH”. As there are multiple meaning as to who He is which are revealed in this sounding.
1.Yah in Hebrew means EL (G-d),
2.Av means Father in Hebrew,
3.Avah means Strength or source of means “strength” (from Germanic “aval”), “sound” and “voice” (from Persian “āwāz/آواز”), “water” (from Persian “âb/آب”) or “life”, “living one”, “source of life” or “mother of life” (from Hebrew “haya/הָיָה” = to be/to exist or “kháy/חַי” = to live/alive)...
4. BEST of all, Ahavah" means "love" in Hebrew!! Our Lord is LOVE.

Similar to those who refer to the Messiah as Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Yahusha or Yahshua), Yeshua meaning Jesus (German/English) or Iesus (Greek). Hebrew meaning of Yeshua is Salvation, with Yah in this name we can see God of Salvation. Ha Mashiach is The Anointed One or the Christ. ImmanuEl, God with us!

YHWH is also called the Tetrgrammaton which is the Tetractys. A 10 dot triangle which happens to describe the ratios of musical harmony. Sound has symmetry.

I understand the reverence toward the name and not wanting to blaspheme it but in Ruth, Boaz greets people in the Lord's name. Bible writers do a disservice by translating the name into LORD. That is not how the original writers wrote it.
Also, they hid the fact that Elyon was a different being by translating his name to be a title for Yhwh. Yhwh was under Elyon.
Never understood why we would not use the name of God, didn't He give us this to use and to proclaim to the world? When the world hears His name ,used properly, it has redeeming properties.

Per Wm G MacDonald, "has my name in him" is a Hebrew idiom meaning "he has my full authority". This a a description of authority given, not an ontological declaration.

I never did buy into this form of pronunciation. Nehemiah Gordon has done some good work in this field of research to show Ye-ho-vah from a grammatical, lexicographic, and historiographical perspective. And over 1,000 manuscripts have the full vowel-pointed pronunciation. The Hebrew Bible also uses word play to point to this combination of vowel pronunciation, and many names of the Hebrew people use this ye-ho prefix (English transliterated "Je-ho") combination to advertise which God they followed.

Psalms 68;4 says what his name is YAH, YAHUAH means YAH the mighty one.
What I find interesting is people will say the title my master YHWH is actualy a lesser god of violence, but yet in every important name you find YAH from the messiah's to most important beings all carry his name so Yah is most certainly the most high. It's all usualy at the end or beginning of the names.

Can anyone help me understand how the Angel of the Lord is a human when it’s called an Angel. What allowance is there to be able to reach that conclusion?
It's because the Hebrew word for angel ("malach") is equally interpreted as messenger in reference to human messengers (Genesis 21:17, Job 1:14, 1 Kings 19:2 all include "malach"). Curiously, the entity who wrestles Jacob is referred to in Genesis 32:25 as a man ("ish"), but when the story is recounted in Hosea 12:4 he is described as an angel ("malach"). I think we can learn from this that an "angel" is better understood as a role than a species.
There is also an immense difference between "AN angel of the Lord" and "THE Angel of the Lord".
Exodus 4:16
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
Exodus 7:1
7 And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
Both times the word Elohim are connected to Moses as a position of authority…. Not as deity. Second if Elohim is 3 then Moses would be 3 as well…. Forcing text to prove the trinity is un textual and adding to what is not there. God is not confusing.

Is Dr. Michael Heiser right in interpreting that God is in the man (in the verses that he quoted - Exodus 23:20-23, Isaiah 30:27 etc) when the reality is that it is the "Angel" of the Lord who bears HIS name and the angel is made manifest in human form because a spirit needs to be embodied to become visible to humans.

There are certain Mysteries that are only available to us whose blinders have been removed. Clearly it's a manifestation of the Son as he wrestles with Jacob and shows up to Samson's parents and appears to Abraham Etc.

Remember that an angel in itself is only a messenger. They are distinct from other Spiritual beings such as Cherubim or Seraphim.

I'm curious to know how do people who pronounce יהוה as "yaweh" came to the conclusion that that's how the tetragram is pronounced. Nobody knows what the real name of God is and it certainly isn't "yaweh".

This confirms that Jesus is over all things ONLY because Jehovah gave him this authority. This verse goes out of its way to clarify Jesus is subject to Jehovah, but Jehovah (God) is not subject to Jesus.
It's like when the owner of a factory appoints a manager and everyone in the factory becomes subject to the manager EXCEPT the owner.

Here is the revelation for you - it has always been pronounced YEHOWAH. Keep on learning.
To never say Yehovah (YHVH) is to render it vain, or to nothing! These rabbinic traditions actually violate the commandment they claim to protect! This is Judaism, not found in the Bible! No where. Judaism and Catholicism are two sides of the same coin of the traditions of men (vs. the actual and not burdensome commandments of YHVH).
I have found what confounds Jews about God is to understand that YHVH is called “Father.”

Seeing YHVH as Father makes it easier to accept if there is a father, there may be a son (although thy see themselves as all children of God). But, being of like kind, or begotten, is unique, and Yeshua is the only One to make this claim.
It also helps to use more accurate translations of the Hebrew (it’s ironic Heiser doesnt do this). Angel is actually malawk and really means messenger. Angel really connotes our ideas of cherubim, etc. There is also a key distinction bn “a messenger” and “THE Messenger,” which should not go unaccounted. THE Messenger is none other than Messiah, or the Son, that is, Yeshua (Yah saves). This is how Abraham can dine with Him, Moses can see Him face to face without being destroyed, etc. Elohim’s humble or human form is as Yeshua (how Elohim demonstrates the quality of humility for us). It is also our example of Elohim as Onewith whom we may have a personal relationship!

Is it ok to desire wanting his name in us. I want to experience what the OT called “the Lord came upon him”. Im not talking about just the Acts 2 experience (which Paul said was a worthy thing to want). Im talking about I want my identity to be in Him if that makes any sense. I had a dream once a demonic spirit was doing something to my wife. & this yelling came out of my mouth but it wasn’t me, it was God thundering judgement through me against this thing. I’ve never felt that pure raw clear perfect emotion ever again in my life. It’s hard to explain. But I want him in me like that again. When I proclaim His word I don’t want it to be me talking.

How can you say that angels can forgive transgressions when the text you read is straight up saying that this angle will not forgive his transgressions? It sounds to me like you are blatantly denying scripture.

Maybe someone could answer this question for me. Did priest have authority on earth to pardon and forgive sins? I was recently in a debate talking about Jesus’ divinity, and I referred to his ability to forgive sins and they rebutted with saying priests could forgive sins and Jesus was just a priest. I know that priest could offer sacrifices on everyone’s behalf to atone for their sins, but were they able to just forgive sins?
Priests were intercessors between God and man. Representatives of God. So if a priest says your sin has been covered or forgiven because of a blood sacrifice or other sacrifice, really it's God who has forgiven the sin or covered them temporarily and the priest is the communicator of that message. Christ is a priest or was a priest and King.

If we are to judge angels one day, how could we do that if we didn't exercise righteous judgment in this life. If lord can mean baal why do we use it.
Probably for the same reason that English translations use "love" in the new testament when that can me "eros" or "agape". The purpose of translation is to convey meaning, and if Adonai was always used it would be more difficult for someone who didn't know the meaning of the word. If both words were translated as "lord" that would be more of an issue.
Lord is a title for a ruler. God isn’t just a lord, he is The Lord, or the Lord over all other lords.

Should a Christian really follow the example of modern Jews regarding whether to pronounce the name of God?
Ancient inspired Jews used God's name YHWH (English Jehovah) all of the time. It is in the Hebrew Bible nearly 7,000 times!
(Joel 2:32) "everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved"
This is verse repeated for Christians at Romans 10:13. Using God's name is a requirement for salvation.
If Jehovah did not want people to use his name he would not have told it to them.
(Exodus 3:15) Jehovah . . . has sent me to you. This is my name to time indefinite.
Jews not speaking God's name is a misapplication of Exodus 20:7 "You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way."
It wasn't commanding not to use God's name at all, but simply not to be disrespectful in using it, such as in cursing or swearing to something falsely.
Boaz would say to his field workers, "Jehovah be with you" and they would reply, "Jehovah bless you." (Ruth 2:4)
Isaiah 12:4 says "Give thanks to Jehovah, you people! Call upon his name."
Sadly, many follow that Jewish custom and have even removed God's name from their Bibles and substituted with "LORD" everywhere YHWH is in Hebrew.
The King James only left God's name Jehovah in 4 places. Exodus 6:3; Psalms 83:18; Isaiah 12:2 & 26:4
This has made God impersonal to many and creates confusion as to who is being spoken of since Jesus and others are also spoken of as "lord."
Psalms 110:1 Jehovah declared to my Lord "Sit at my right hand . . ."
is much clearer than KJV "The LORD said unto my Lord."
Luke explains that Jehovah is here speaking to Jesus. (Acts 2:34-36)
Saying "God's name is in him" is no endorsement of the Trinity doctrine.
Jesus is "the Word of God." He is Jehovah's representative.
(John 8:28) Jesus then said . . . "I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me, I speak these things."
This does not make him God any more than it makes Moses God.
Exodus 7:1 Consequently Jehovah said to Moses: "See, I have made you God to Pharaoh"
