I’ve spent the last 6 years questioning everything about the world, history, reality and yes, even having to re-learn Bible truths that were run over by long held church traditions. Deception is everywhere (not always malevolent) but false nonetheless. We have been lied to about most things, so it takes a while to cut through it all and come out on the other side. I am so immensely grateful for Dr. Heiser!!!! The generous sharing of his wealth of knowledge has been an answer to prayer. I’ve searched high and low for decades to find this type of info. Due to chronic health issues and minuscule income I couldn’t afford to physically or financially attend a routinely scheduled class. Yet, when I’m able to jump in here I am blessed beyond measure to have access to so much in depth content that he puts out. Much easier for me to follow than a podcast. I have read nearly EVERY book of yours though Doc! All my questions from long ago answered and thoughts confirmed! I literally shouted for joy and praised the LORD for having you brought into my life. I truly can’t thank you enough kind sir!!! Yes! This is what the Lord told me when he showed me 25 years ago that Mose's life was a prophetic timeline of his plan, just like the Feasts. The crossing of the "Red Sea" is a prophetic shadow of the valley of Blood in Ben Hinnom that is up to a horse's bridle (Revelation 14:20). That's why after the battle we sing "The Song of Moses" (Revelation 15) because that will be the fulfillment of "Pharaoh's armies" cast into the "Red Sea." Why red? Red stands for the south but it's also the valley where the kings of Israel started murdering their children at the town of Tophet to Baal (Jeremiah 19:6-7). It will be a visual symbol of the blood spilled by parents who killed their children at the "spiritual Tophets" around the world. The Judgment of God begins at the intersection of the two valleys of Ben Hinnom and the Kidron Valley where the ashes of the idols were scattered after every revival in Israel (2 Chronicles 30:14). You are the ONLY Bible scholar who teaches what the Spirit of the Lord has been telling me all these years. I don't feel so alone anymore! Thank you.

@Julian Clarke interesting, after a bit of study I see where there is argument on the translations because it came from the Septuagint and Vulgate rather than the Hebrew bible, however another argument is ( the Israelites crossed as יָם סוּף (yam suph), meaning “Sea of Reeds”) If יָם סוּף (yam suph) is to be understood as “Reed Sea” or “Sea of Reeds,” it would be located in the marshy delta region of Egypt. However, if יָם סוּף (yam suph) is taken as “End Sea” or “Sea of the Border,” then the body of water today known as the Red Sea may be the correct referent (compare O’Rourke Boyle, “ ‘In the Heart of the Sea,’ ”)
Also in your comment you referred to "The the LAW Keeping Israelites who the World Calls Negroes Will be Lead Back into our Land by Christ" I have never heard of the jews being called "Negroes". However to me I dont care if Christ was Black, White, Yellow or red it makes no difference to me and should not be argued among YHWH's children because we are all Humans...Gods Imagers and thats what we should do is image YHWH (God) as best as we can. Thank you for your comment its all about learning the word together. Blessings

It's not bogus - I encourage Michael to be more humble and cautious in presenting such a complex study. I know Michael likes to question traditional interpretations of Biblical passages (which I like), but he's off on this one. We mustn't be so quick to believe someone, only because he is called "Dr." and because he calls the traditional interpretation "bogus" which is an aggressive rhetorical tool to convince his viewers of the truthfulness of his statements. I appreciate and respect some of Michael's research but that doesn't mean one has to accept everything as truth without questioning - even when he can make a seemingly good argument as in this case. However, things are a little bit more complex than that and Michael is not correct in this case - let me explain why:
*1.* First of all, there are Greek equivalents in the Septuagint for the Hebrew word "Moed", which are mainly kairos καιρός (G2540) and martyrion μαρτύριον (G3142). The word kairos is used in the sense of an „appointed time“ and martyrion is used for "Moed" in translating the Hebrew „Ohel Moed“ (Tent of Testimony/Appointment).
Thus, if the Greek "Armageddon" were a transliteration of the Hebrew „Har Moed“ - then the writer/transcriber of Revelation would have probably used one of the established and well-known Greek equivalents of Moed - a frequently occuring word in the Old Testament. A transliteration as "(Ar)-Mageddon" would, thus, not only be highly unlikely, but even unnecessary. Moed was never transliterated as "Mageddon" in the Greek OT.
*2.* Secondly, the NT in general, but Revelation in a special way, is a book of OT references. There is no known „Har Moed“ in the OT in an eschatological context. There is one place where „Har Moed“ actually occurs in the Hebrew OT - Isaiah 14:13 mentions a „Har Moed“, but this mountain is in heaven and not on earth, and the equivalent word of the Greek Septuagint is „ore ypsaelo“ ὄρει ὑψηλῷ and not "Armageddon“ Ἃρ Μαγεδών. Again - if "Armageddon" were a transliteration and/or translation of „Har Moed“ - the writer/transcriber of Revelation would have probably used one of the established and well-known Greek equivalents.
*3.* Thirdly, the Aramaic translation of the NT renders the word for “Armageddon” as “Magdu” (Megiddo) מַגדוּ - without any reference to a „Mountain“. The question is why? I assume that the emphasis is on Megiddo itself and the Jezreel Valley as a known place of war in Israel’s history. The reference to „Mount“ or „Har“ may have simply been an additional hint to the mountainous surrounding of Megiddo and the Jezreel Valley. Thus, in addition to the aforementioned arguments, we have a very early text witness that explicitly names Megiddo in Rev. 16:16.
*4.* The ones being gathered to Armaggeddon are the Kings from the rising of the sun and their armies (Rev 16:12). The gathered army will be probably very great (probably millions of people strong) - the Jezreel Valley has plenty of place for them. If a great army will come from the east, they will probably have to choose the most natural way through the Jezreel Valley, where they will challenge YHWH, who is Jesus Christ. Any other way would be strategically disadvantageous to a great army.
*5.* The ending “-on” in "Armageddon" was most likely chosen to represent an alternative rendering of Megiddo as found in Zechariah 12:11 - *Mgiddon מְגִדּֽוֹן* (G4023) - which makes „Armageddon“ a very literal and logical transliteration of „Har Mgiddon“. Considering everything, the implied message behind the term "Armageddon" ("Har Mgiddon") is probably: "The mountainous region at the war-associated place Megiddo" hinting to the spacious Jezreel Valley and mentioning Megiddo explicitly because of its association with war and Israel's history.
As complementary information on the arguments I presented, I can highly recommend these two videos on UA-cam that give additional insight into the military significance of Megiddo and the Jezreel Valley and the significance of it in Israel’s history: 1. *The Important Role of Megiddo in the End Times | Episode 8 - Season 1 | The Holy Land* (Channel: Our Daily Bread)

The reason it's perplexing is because our pastors don't go any further than seminary. They don't know the ancient Semitic languages or even know ANE history or culture. Those are HUGE when trying to understand the Bible. You can see by this one video that we miss a lot in translation. You can't simply equally translate from Aramaic, ancient Hebrew to Greek to English. It takes a biblical scholar knowledgeable about those languages and their derivatives to piece it together and place it correctly grammatically and in it's proper ancient context in line with the customs of the time period in which it was written.
For instance, the word "snake/serpent" in Genesis 3 is actually very convoluted and not as simple as "snake". The ancient word used in the original text is "nchsh". It's an ancient Hebrew word derived from Ugarit & Akkadian. This means you have to take those two languages into account as well. Next, grammatically within the sentence, it's used as a triple entendre (noun, adjective, & verb). All to say that the actual meaning is "divine shining being". So Eve wasn't speaking to a "snake/serpent" but a divine shining being. This explains why she wasn't shocked by a talking snake. Lastly, you must take into account ancient iconography from history. The "snake/serpent" motif was commonly used by ancient peoples of that time to denote an entity from the supernatural realm. This is all teaching from Dr. Michael Heiser in is book, "The Unseen Realm".

So this is the initial point where most of us are, however the Holy writings, throughout history appeal to our (better half) evoking wellbeing. We internally hold to our hearts desires and expect that to suffice, contrary to the divine grace, which is ignored. And since I have done some archaeology, I tend to take city mounds fairly seriously. And of course, God knew it would be a dead mound. But if you think it's going to be at the "Mount of Assembly," then we will just have to wait and see. And yes, we already know that Jerusalem is a flashpoint, where conflict is likely.
