I think, and I could be wrong, I often am, the mat liner case can be used to carry gear/bait and the liner can still be stored round the case. I get that it could also be used to store the liner. Anyway that's the way I'm going to use mine. If I ever get out to catch owt I'll wipe it down and rinse off when I get home. Great but of kit and mine came with a big sticky label too! More gear reviews please, tho your fishing videos (with Dad) are always enjoyable and entertaining to watch
I prefer the Supalite as it seems less bulky but they both have sides to stop the fish getting injured Only time I use a mat that has no sides is when roaming
I dont use the padded liner, its thick enough to protect the fish without it. Then you can use the internal bag to store all your bits for the session and you only need one bag.
I wholeheartedly agree with fish welfare, but feel the sport of fishing has got too commercial. I am a 79 year old pensioner. When I started fishing as a boy I had a rod, centre pin reel, 6lb line, floats, weights, hooks, disgorger, landing net, keepnet, Silvercloud ground bait, gentles (magots) and a fold up garden chair. Simple tackle. Now it is poles, rods with no end of top sections etc., unhooking mats, enormous keepnets (when you are allowed to use them), heavy 42 inch landing nets (which I never see match anglers use), feeders, bombs, bait boats, bite detectors, fishery pellets, boilies, wafters, attractants, Carp care kits, the list goes on. I have 2 sizes of unhooking mat, but I have now got to get one with sides. The tackle is so diversified and expensive now, fishing as a recreation for me is too expensive, so have had to give it up. I can't fish rivers and canals etc. for free because clubs have bought the fishing rights and impose restrictions on tackle etc. All I can do now is watch UA-cam fishing channels and yearn to be able to fish again. Commercial venues down south are expensive to fish on a day ticket and then you have to use the fisheries pellets etc. More expense. All the commercialism is fine for match anglers who win fast sums of cash, but the recreational angler is being financially squeezed out. It is no longer an everyman sport it is big buisness. Even the UA-cam channel makers earn lots of money doing it. Another sport ruined by commercialism.
i was at fishery the other week and some old fella was saying ive never had a unhooking mat in 20 odd year i just use a towel... a mean how scruffy and trampy for the sake of 10-20 pound at most theres some right clowns out there... he was asked to leave the fishery 🤣
You a gud in Westy . Honest to. Great product but to big for me . I walk and carry my stuff , only basics, but do carry an unhooking mat that fits rolled up on top of rucksack. Good review.👏🤝
Im really impressed and have become a huge convert to korum over the last few years their kit and terminal tackle is very good quality and well priced
Great video, totally agree that a unhooking mat is 100% necessary on the bank. I have the korum super lite fast mat.
Got one for specimen fishing and for carping when I take my stalking gear.Great bit of kit.
Love korum great kit and well priced as a specimen angler they cater for multiple disaplins

You took the words right out of my mouth!
I remember that Spratts silver cloud groundbait. At the time it was all that was available. Used to soak the whole muslin sack for a few minutes.
Yes! @newsmonger77 those were the days.

Looks safe enough to me 👌 nice and comfy with that stinky bag 👌❤️
I use a Westlake unhooking mat . Costs just a few quid .
Nothing wrong with that !
What is the bag you have in your videos that holds, your chair, landing net, mat, flask etc?? Cheers
Just a big NGT holdall
Had a look at buying one of these but cant get one for less than £50, which is too rich for me. Any idea where i could get one for £30 ish? Thanks
Mine was from angling direct buddy ! Just hold out till a sale 😁
@WestysAngling many thanks Matt. They are out of stock nationally at the moment. I will keep checking for when they come back into stock 👍
@HinckleyHammer I may have had something to do with that 😂

So much gear needed now for carp fishing, I will need a bigger barrow and even a bigger car! That's not going to happen at 75.
