Wow!, music is such a time machine! this song takes me back to late August 1993, I remember marrying my second wife on August 30th, and driving to a local mall afterwards and buying a pair of Cerwin Vega speakers and this Cd. Going home and hooking them up and jamming to this song and others on it. Great memories!
Boy does this song bring back some serious memories! The 90s gave us some timeless classics that I still rock too in 2024.. so blessed to have lived in the Seattle area when the grunge era exploded with bands that a year earlier were playing the club scene and not even known outside of Seattle
Yes ! It was so hard for me to get into the grunge music of the 90s, but God I am so happy that I did. I never realized how much this music truly resonates in my soul.
Ikr,Their follow up album didn't live up up the high expectations that fans was expecting and they fell off the radar, but their first was just freaking amazing .

Your comment is exactly what ice been feeling/thinking about so many of my friends. Here we are after 40 all trying to go back through old connections or other ways. So many people trying to figure out where things went wrong but also just wanting to live in this era again because it was amazing
It's true there second album fell short if 1 song on the level of the first complete album, but why? And when the initial album is an across the board success, how could their producers & handlers not keep them fully committed with total buy in after such greatness. 3 simple things. Change up of a key contributor, life choices & the sole biggest, Grunge. I f'ing love Candlebox seeing them in Boston 94'. Hey love Pearl Jam & Nirvanna who changed the music landscape. And Grunge did just that as bands like Alice in Chains & S.T.P. RULED the music world. Hell the grunge movement had rules while Cobain called out GnR especially Axl Rose and Curt also said Pearl Jam wasn't really grunge despite he really liked Vedder. The grunge Movement went beyond sad lyrics or a perceived atitude. It was anti-fame. Reluctant stardom and not profit driven by the concept of the music or you're a sell out attitude. Candlebox is a blues based, alternative rock band with great music & songs, but it wasn't grunge Which was to more than the first half of the 90's as hard rock & heavy/hair metal was to the 80's! At that time for me a 80's generation guy I loved Candlebox and grunge, but rock based blues classified as alternative rock had an audience identity crisis by the masses of that day in the eyes of the industry resulting in such and under exposure to the masses for their greatness during that time anything out of a specific feel and sound mostly fell through the cracks
They did not reach for fame, and more power to them. Look at what became of their contemporaries, being eaten up and spit out by the music industry of the 90s.
The battle against evil never ends. God please give me shelter for someone who needs saving.! The journey and battle begins again. Give me strength, light, love, and shelter!!
This band kind of got lost in their era. They put out a bunch of solid songs. When I'm searching back to the good ole days I always listen to a few of their songs
The first two minutes of this song....my goodness. I was 12 when it first came out. I'm 38 now and I still can't believe how hard it hits me. I can remember one time listening to this in my family's car as my mom drove me to a mall or something...I wasn't even a teenager yet.
Seriously this brings back so many emotions from my teens. This song was my all time favorite and still rocks me to my core. Kevin is an amazing talent and he deserves to be in the spotlight again, because this voice is just amazeballs.
You only hear about maybe 3 grunge bands if you weren't there or know someone. Nirvana, maybe Soundgarden, and maybe pearl jam. Bet you can guess the only three maybe five song 😂😂
Thanks for the great love ❤️ and support you show me as a special fan of mine😍, I hope you won't stop listening to tracks , and thanks for your sincere Compliment and love towards my tracks ❤️may God bless you.
Just saw these guys yesterday in concert in LA and was blown away. So much raw energy and Kevin's voice was better than ever. They stole the show from Jerry Cantrell and Bush.
Love these guys...wanted to see them for so long. Finally get to in September 2021!!! Ive had tickets for a yr and a half...cant wait!!! Give me my music back...go away Covid!!
This song drew me to Candlebox when it came out. I love how it has loud & soft under tones, yet cranks the entire song! Used to cruise w/this cranked up & wouldn't stop riding until i listen to the entire cassette all the way thru! I turned so many ppl onto this band yrs ago. And they still live them as much as I do at 58 y/o!!
They are under rated by some and I guess I am surprised that they are not spoken of more often. But never have they been under rated in my book, nor in my head. Welcome 2025. Back in 1992, this band never received the critical acclaim it deserved. My early college years were defined by Candlebox, and songs like this. There is nothing but synthetic garbage and overproduced noise pollution now (with some rare exceptions?). This song still evokes the power and passion of a generation, along with "Far Behind" and "You". Totally underrated.
I mentioned this on another site when I was 11 12 years old living in Portland Maine me and my friend went into this guy's apartment and stole crates of cassettes I was only 11 12 never stole again felt so bad Candlebox was one of them and I've been listening to them ever since I'm not a thief it was a one-time childhood thing but it got me to Candlebox... In my only thought is how come the neighbor did not hear me blasting in the summer with my window open all of his cassettes LOL
Listening to this song, this underrated band, reminds me, in a very sad way, that what young people today do not have is music. Real music with real heartfelt emotion. I'm a proud Gen X'er and I had it great! Great music from childhood (70s), teens (80s), and my disillusioned twenties (90s). If I had a time machine, I would not hesitate and go back. Would ya join me?
How is this band underrated? Every person I talk to (including the people who don't like rock) says that Candlebox is one of the better rock bands out there. Honestly, this song is probably one of my most favorite songs of all time.
Only people who were really into 90s music even remember them. And a lot of them probably only remember Far Behind and maaaybe You. I listen to Lithium on SiriusXM all the time and those two songs barely ever get played compared to stuff like PJ, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.
I'm from a small town on the outskirts of Lisbon/Portugal. Well, this friend of mine went to Paris on vacation almost at the same time this album was released. While she was there she went to this club ... Candlebox were playing to 7 people .... True story! Love them and this album his the shit! Please bring back the 90's!
Candlebox doesn't ever get old to me
One of the most under rated band of 90s
Underrated now... but overplayed in the 90s.
