I got into a JRPG kick recently and just beat Chained Echoes, another phenomenal indie RPG inspired by SNES era games. I never played The Messenger, but knowing how well received it is and how incredible SoS looks visually, it's one of my most anticipated games of the year.
Oh yea, Chained Echoes is an incredible game! Everything about it was so much fun. The battle system was what really impressed me, it was so fresh. And you should really give The Messenger a try if you get the time, it's a fantastic experience.
I'm really looking forward to those too, Octopath 2 is going to be awesome and FF7 Rebirth is my favorite portion of the story, it'll be really cool to see what they do with it.
I found that out last year! I had no idea about the Soul Blazer trilogy, even though as a kid Illusion of Gaia was one of my favorite games, and I would've loved a sequel or spiritual successor.
Omg my hype level for this game is beyond comprehension! Chrono Trigger is without any doubt my GOAT (sorry FromSoft). Mitsuda my favorite composer (next to Uematsu). Then there is the way this games looks! The attention to detail is insane. The dynamic lighting, insane animation, artstyle and color. They could have gone with just another pixel look, making it easy on themselves. But THIS right here... is the best effort in bringing the spirit of Chrono Trigger back to live. @SquareEnix. Hire them!! Please let this game turn out being a 9+! I pray everything checks out so well that this is the stellar experience I hope it will be.
It is pretty much the exact game that I had hoped for when I heard they were making a "sequel" to Chrono Trigger during the PS1 era. That's one of the reasons I was so disappointed by Chrono Cross. This game, however, would've been perfect back then. But hey, if it's taken this long to get a proper successor, then so be it. And yes, 9 or 12 hours would be the perfect length for a game like this. Indie studios like Sabotage are just nailing it though. Yacht Club's upcoming Mina the Hollower also looks incredible.

Besides FF7Rebirth, this game and Octopath 2 are my most anticipated games this year. So excited

I backed this game on Kickstarter in 2020. And it has only looked better as time goes on
That's awesome, man. It was clearly a good investment!
Dude, awesome choice! I had this in my 2023 hype video! Sea of Stars I think will get GOTY status! anyway subbed man!
Oh I think it'll absolutely have GOTY potential, even with all the other awesome titles coming out this year. Thanks for the sub by the way!
@@gabegoforth Not a problem dude! looking forward to more content!
@@chickenfillets thanks man, still trying to work out a good rhythm for content and everything, but there will definitely be more soon!
Did you know Illusion Of Gaia and Terranigma are part of a trilogy?
