I do a cake with this recipe during the summer. I make a two-layer white or yellow cake, poke it and soak it in either orange juice or sweetened condensed milk. Then I double this recipe and "frost" the cake with it, with plenty in that middle layer. I pipe some Cool Whip dollops with an orange segment on each one for some decoration. Store in the fridge and serve slices on a hot summer day! Not many people can or will say "no" to this cake! It is amazingly refreshing! Thank you, Marie...I haven't made this in a while! One of my favorites , was so yummy and a easy peasy dessert. I remember eating orange dreamlike ice cream on a stick that used for taffy apples. We'd get from the ice cream man. This does look so yummy, will definitely try this one. I make a similar side dish for Thanksgiving with orange jello and cottage cheese, mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple. The night before I make it I put the oranges and pineapple in a sieve over a bowl in the refrigerator overnight to drain. I used to make this for work for our department dinners. Wish I had this recipe then, it would have been a big hit!!! Thanks for sharing.🥰

This kinda reminds me of Watergate salad which I printed off a recipe for the other day and plan on making this summer. My Momma used to make watergate salad when she would have parties like Tupperware or gatherings at her house.. so good. I like dreamsicles. Looks good Marie.

Delicious... I substituted the banana pudding for vanilla pudding.. Keeping it more to the creamsicle taste... I'll try banana next time or I may even "improvise" and try vanilla ice cream in there.. Thank you
I always use orange juice instead of cold water, always, so much more flavor, I've also seen someone use orange sherbert instead that sounds wonderful. Lastly I always use real whip cream in place of cool whip. Only because I left a bowl of the cool whip sitting out for several hours by accident and oh Lord if you would have seen the ugly of what it turned into you too would never want to put that into a recipe ever again! Just saying you can't go wrong with the real Macoy!
