DJJ and Gaff under 10 min, THJ getting minutes. Sure it's the best reference but it isn't a true representative. Also the C's shot the ball crazy well, something they haven't kept up in the playoffs
It's a one game sample so it doesn't really say much plus Gafford and Jones Jr played for 6 and 7 minutes respectively so they might as well have not played partnered with this only being 1 month after the trade. Plus there is the nerves of the finals, for example looking at 2022, Tatum only averaged 21 in the finals, and he has grown but can we expect him to show up and drop 32 like in that game? Dallas is full of young guys, how will they play? It's an incorrect statement but the existence of this game doesn't really tell us much.

They DID NOT give up a first round pick for Daniel gafford. They got him for a pick swap. HUGE difference. A 25-year-old stud for a pick swap. Massive steal. Have no idea why everyone gets this wrong.

Out of everything in this finals, there’s only one thing I want to see. Tatum guarding Luka. Statistically in the regular season Tatum has been one of the most impactful individual defenders of luka in the league. I think he might be the exact build for a Luka stopper and if he can’t stop luka I don’t think anyone can

Daniel Gafford went crazy in his first game as a Mav. We knew right away that at least that one was a great trade, they needed another big

I think that contextually the Rudy shot attempts were not as bad as it seems on paper.
The Mavs had Luka on Rudy, clearly in an effort to get him some rest on defense. It seems to me that the TWolves gameplan was to attack Luka and wear him on the other side of the ball. When Rudy's 1st possession had him posting up Luka and hitting the And-1 on him the plan probably looked great to them, but when it stopped working nobody else picked up the slack to compensate.
The moment that plan failed on back-to-back possessions they should've called it off and said 'Conley & Ant make some plays' but they didn't. Initially tho, for a brief few minutes, it was a solid gameplan.

The thing about this series and what made the Wolves so easy for the Mavs is that they could hide Luka on defense with little to no issue. There is no hiding him against the Celtics. Can’t hide him on a center, they’re both great from 3 and too big. Can’t hide him against D White or Jrue. Definitely can’t put him on the J’s. I think we will see a similar story to the Pacers where the Celtics hunt Luka and Kyrie matchups with their wings and go to work. I think this series goes 6-7 and the Celtics take it. Especially with how good they’ve been on the road in addition to having home court advantage.

One question I have is :could analysts and pundits of the nba do abetter job making predictions and properly rating teams? It’s so crazy how everyone had the Wolves as favorite to WIN THE LARRY O’BRIAN and they’re not even making it to the finals or even worse they got gentleman swept and were shot out of the gym in the last game.

Every contender is extremely expensive. This is the deepest team in franchise history, it would be dumb to break them up. I don't know why people are even seriously discussing trade ideas. Paying the 2nd apron for 1-2 years is not the end of the world and after 2 years, Rudy's contract ends and can be restructured to get back below the 2nd apron.
They have to pay the luxury tax, this was one of the last 3 teams with a shot at the title! All great teams require great cost.
