i honestly hate the fact the media hyped up ant to be the next mj .. they literally jus set him up for failure if he didn't win a chip this year . the dude is 22 years old his frontal cortex isn't even fully developed and the whole world put an immense amount of pressure on him . and people are trying to compare him career wise , but literally the only comparison should've been game style . their games look similar , but their careers are completely different and idk why people tried to compare them in the first place

Luka just turned 25 and the HATE/CRITICISM he gets is just as bad or worse. They treat Luka like a vet instead of a young player that is still learning and growing. Luka hasn’t even peaked yet.

Jaylen Brown is an excellent second option but it’s very clear Tatum is the better all around offensive player

Correct. JB is a very efficient scorer and even more so in the playoffs, but he is nowhere near Tatum when it comes to running and offense. Tatum is also an elite defense rebounder in the playoffs. He's averaging the most per game out of remaining players and was only behind Jokic and AD with all players included.
And defensive player, tbh. Brown gets more credit as a defender because people focus on on-ball defense, but the things Tatum is able to do in help are more valuable. Plus, Tatum is a monster defensive rebounder, which matters.
There's a reason the Celtics have been consistently much better with Tatum on the court over the years. And Brown's on/off splits are mostly in the negative. Tatum and role player lineups are still very good. Brown and role player lineups are not.
Agreed, Im a celtics fan and that debate is so old and forced. He got a lot better this year but there were points I said i’d take white and porzingis over him.
His turnovers and lack of shot creation is why we havent been able to get over the hump imo but i think he finally figured that out.

Embiid isn’t unschemeable in the way that the other players are, the way to stop him is just to be more physical than him and tire him out. That’s what the Knicks did to him in this series and horford did last year

I think Giannis and Embiid are fairly schemeable. Giannis's lack of a jumpshot and willingness to be baited into shooting anyway is sometimes a problem. Embiid is even more schemeable. I know he always has an injury to blame things on. But we've seen that every time he plays Boston, Boston sends a late double and he struggles with handling it.
I'd also argue that Embiid schemes himself out of games by not being properly conditioned, but that's a different issue. Yeah, I'm an Embiid skeptic.

I don’t know if Tatum is a better defender than Brown even though that seems to be the common consensus. I think Tatum is better as a help and off ball defender. But I think Brown is better as POA defender so I guess overall it does go to Tatum maybe but I know if I’m assigning players to go make someone’s life difficult I’m choosing JB on the perimeter and JT in the post between those two. I think it’s insane how they don’t have to guard the toughest guys on the other teams like perimeter wise they are the 3rd and 4th option on this team behind Jrue and Derrick and post wise JT is fourth behind kristaps Jrue and Al lol

It's just that the only scheme that works against him is doubling him at the elbow and then sending a third player to jab at the ball before he passes or as he shoots, so basically you have to triple team 😂 It only works when he has little to no help around him tho. 2013 Memphis without Westbrook, 2021 bucks with Kyrie and harden hurt, 2022 Celtics with tiny lineups/awful coaching, 2023 nuggets with 3 starters out. Other times he's lost have just been that he faced a better team. You're definitely right about one thing tho, at the end of the day you will never completely stop KD from getting his. Greatest scorer of all time

People keep saying Mavs are the underdogs. If you’re a Mavs fan and watched through out the season you saw what coach Kidd was cooking. 82 games to figure out what works and what doesn’t and try new things and experiment. Just because you have a 60+ win record doesn’t mean you are the best team. It just means you figured out a system. Just wait until that system gets figured out. Celtics are without question a superteam. Brown and Tatum are stars with Tatum being a top 10 player. Jrue is an all star, White and Porzingus are both all star lvl so yes superteam
The only "superteam" in the league was the suns with KD Book and Beal. Being a great, well rounded team like Boston is not the same as a superteam. Porzingis is not same player he was in NY since injuries, he's not really an all start anymore. And Derrick white is a really good role player, but still a role player, not a star.

I just don’t understand why the general consensus is that this Celtics run is a cake walk, but that sentiment wasn’t there last year for the nuggets. Last year everyone was saying “it’s still historic! They’re playing who’s in front of them!” They also had some of the easiest rolls I’ve ever seen. I think even as a big basketball fan it is easy to hate on the celtics. They have a starting 5 of all allstar caliber players, arguably the best starting 5 piece by piece in a long time. From the start of the season they were huge favorites and all of their regular season and playoff records have shown them looking dominant but the eye test and context has just made them look weak. They are losing or nearly losing to playoff teams with their best players missing. In the regular season so many of their losses have just been bad and they have had slight wins that are just sad. They went to overtime with the pistons in the prime of their losing streak. They lost 2 games in the in season tournament. They have had zero adversity in the playoffs yet still had slight wins. They have consistantly been in the conference finals with nothing to show for it besides one finals appearance where they were all outplayed by Wiggins. I also just hate their current scheme of trying to shoot more threes than the opponent when they don't have great shooters and I think overall the coaching has been terrible.

the celtics almost sold game 1, they almost sold game 3 with NO HALIBURTON. They have nobody to match the skills of dallas' backcourt, nor the athleticism in the frontcourt to deal with Gafford and Lively. The celtics' big men are Al Horford (the oldest dude in the playoffs rn) and an injury prone Porzingis.

They’re both elite in everything offensively (Luka is a much better play maker and Steph is way better off ball) they’re both elite shooters although Steph is better. Both elite handles, curry is a bit better,luka is better at the rim and I believe in the mid range but I don’t remember Lukas mid range stats. Both have insane gravity. Kyrie stomps klay

GAME 3: was 16/8/8 and had 5 turnovers and was 54.5 % from the field and 66.7% from 3
GAME 4: 39/7/9 with 4 turnover and was 42% from the field off 31 shots and was 27.3 percent from 3 off 11 shots.
