Complicit is a kind adjective... she is evil and driven by money. Not only did she set up Lacase, she strung him along..hoping that he will take the bait..and make something happen to Dan.. As if that was not enough, she ensure that her brother is sacrificed so that she beamed heir apparent. Only Georgia seems to have touched on the money motive. I think she is ker;ing the insurance benefits, social security bonuses and the obvious sole beneficiary of her parents’ estate..the Motive under wrap.. the child custody..was Wendi excuse to go for the money..everyone knows she is anything but maternal..

@@donton07fulno he couldn't, who would take another lawyer seriously about killing a law professor especially when she made poor tasteless jokes about her husband. Also him dating her he likely really took her comments as nothing, but the usual complaints. By that time she was complaining about Dan often and nothing happened he probably saw her moving on with him as a sign she was letting the bitter divorce go. Plus she had seemed to settle in Tallahassee had her own home plus Dan was being extremely petty going back n forth in the courts filing motions against her. She had a good reason to be bitter with Dan even the judge told him to stop filing useless motions. He went around to make appointments with different lawyers with the intention of forcing her into running out of lawyers, he knew once he seem them she couldn't hire them due to conflict of interests. That is some meticulously pettiness. He wouldn't have known this was something extremely serious until Charlie ended up dead plus he's not a law professor himself so he wouldn't know when things were getting out of hand. He isn't the only person that heard the joke either.

    • @benzocorbynista3321
      @benzocorbynista3321 5 років тому +12

@@hawkesworth1712 its seriously strong testimony for few reasons:
      1. Shooting took place on the day and just about the time Jeffrey was SUPPOSED to travel.
But he changed plans & travelled a day or two earlier!!
And according to him, only Wendi knew of the travel plans from him...which could explain a third party gleaning info from her and using it to plot the hit. But unfortunately with no time for update info to know that Jeffrey had changed travel plans there was no fall guy to offer a protective screen.
      2. Wendi testified albeit under immunity that she did not know her brother's sports car make, Jeffrey testified she brought it up a few times that he drove a ferrari.
Wendi knew her brother drove a Merc, an unmarked car but wasnt "... big on cars" enough to identify his sports car...!!!
      3. Jeffrey testified about Wendi telling him about her brother trying to hire a hitman after she lost the relocation court application.
In her testimony, Wendi only mentioned a passing comment regarding a tv.
      4. IMHO Jeffrey was a perfect fit for a frame. It appears he was in love with someone who may only have loved "relocation" ...and since he wasnt getting the hitman hint, was dispensable. The email was probably a reaction for changing his travel arrangements which left the hit without a fall guy when the wheels were already in motion!!!
      5. Theres no question it was a hit and no question there was animosity given the court decision against Wendi's intended relocation with the kids. Jeffrey testified the hitman comments were specific to court ruling against relocation.
In answering the cui bono of the case, its fair to extrapolate that Dan Markel was killed bc no Markel means no court authority thwarting the relocation.

This whole interview makes me sick to my stomach, honestly. As someone who was single for a very long time, I know how difficult it is to find a good, kind man, not to mention a good man who is willing to take on your children. Knowing this is one of those rare men and realizing what could have happened to him had he not left for his trip when he did is horrifying and disgusting. His character is crystal clear at 32:19 when he’s asked if he contacted law enforcement after hearing about the threat; you can see that he’s experiencing deep regret and remorse despite being completely innocent of any wrong doing. THAT is a decent man! Although It is a little baffling that despite being quite intelligent and intuitive, he was willing to accept her very mercurial and often irrational behavior, I understand that sociopaths can be incredibly charming and manipulative. Regardless, thank God he listened to that inner voice that pushed him to leave earlier than planned, and he miraculously dodged a life changing catastrophe. He deserved to be treasured not used, and I truly hope he will be able to get past this horrible experience & find someone who will appreciate him & make him happy. As far as Wendi Adelson & her family; if there is any justice in this world, they will be charged and convicted for this senseless murder!

Based on Jeffrey’s statement, it seems that Wendi’s behaviour during her relationship with him was to provoke him into wanting to rescue her from the situation with her ex husband. By telling him that her brother wanted to get rid of Dan was her way of planting an idea in Jeffrey’s head. Then she engaged in different behaviours that would provoke him into jealousy and empathy. She was all over the place with her emotions, trying everything she could think of for him to do anything to save her, “the damsel in distress”. When she realized that wasn’t going to work, she planned to set him up hoping to kill two birds with one stone; by getting rid of the ex husband and the soon to be ex boyfriend who would have probably been executed for her ex husband unalive.

Tandi Caldwell oh wow I didn’t know this that does make it seem like she tried to frame him. I was under the impression that as they were broken up at the time of the murder they weren’t in daily contact telling each other what they were doing every day; this is what he seems to be saying at the testimony. I didn’t realize ... but the only thing that doesn’t fit about that is that the hitmen seemed to be on their own schedule. But then again we obviously don’t know all the details but it didn’t seem like they were telling the hitmen what exact day and hour to go do it because they made an initial trip the month before, chickened out or couldn’t do it and then came back. So that led me to kind of believe they were on their own time, but if what you’re saying is true that means the Adelsons were in constant touch with the hitmen and telling them really exactly when to go, even skipping the middle-woman Katie... which then makes them even guiltier.

Wray Rae I was listening to one of the other testimonies that followed this one and it seems not it seems they were so stupid that they used their own cell phones. The authorities were then able to triangulate using the cell towers exactly when they were calling and home and it turned out that there was one direct call from I forget which one of these two idiots directly to Dr. Adelson Senior. That’s the link that everyone says they keep looking for. Before that I was under the impression that the reason why the family wasn’t arrested yet is because they have never been able to find an actual link between the hitmen and the family, i.e. Katie has always been the missing link SUPPOSEDLY - but now I find they did call Dr. Adelson Senior as they were preparing to drive back home after the murder. He let it go to voicemail. Because they’re such morons and did not get burner phones but useD their own phones so this tells me there is a link which makes it a TRAVESTY the Adelsons have not been arrested yet.

It’s so scary how close he came to being a main suspect, he was smart enough to go with his hunch to leave the night before and not tell her, even if his cell didn’t ping right next to his house the fact he would have been in the area and any witness to his car in the area that morning potentially could have resulted in his arrest,.. thank God he was strong enough to follow his hunch to leave a day early and not tell her.
Ironically in this case I think if he had reported it to police that close to the 4 day window the police wouldn’t have acted quickly enough to save Dan, and the only people who could’ve stopped it is someone in the adelson family changing their mind or fate intervening like the hitman getting really sick etc. This man Lacasse in leaving the night before and not telling her was the smartest thing he could’ve done. If he had told Dan markel he might have had trouble believing his ex wife would do that and become more of a target Im just glad under the unbelievable circumstances Lacasse had the fortitude and insight to follow his instincts

Because "the hit" had been delayed so long at that point in time, there probably was some fresh impetus then to make it happen sooner than later. There probaby was a decision to make LaCasse the fall guy so they waited until she learned when he was leaving town and that his route would take him near Markel's house at a specific time. So Wendi had grilled LaCasse on the specifics of his trip info and then passed that on along with info on Dan's schedule so that the hit would occur at roughly the time and place of LaCasse's innocent, unrelated drive-by. So . . . same car, same color, same area, same time.
On the other hand, cell phone data would have shown LaCasse would never have been at the PRECISE location of Markel's residence. And not only that the cell phone would have passed only NEAR that neighborhood, it never stopped moving either on LaCasse's route out of town and state. But it shows how hard the murderers TRIED to set LaCasse up.
