BRO I WOULDNT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE REF PIC LOL
Haha yes it's not easy!
I'm a beginner and would love to see a gun modelling tutorial. Aryan showed one with an assault rifle but then I would really love to know the topology study behind it.
It's in my to-do list!
@@ThomasColin3D any chance it's a Remington 1858 ? :D
I'd love to see you do it. Frame part in particular.
I've been struggling with it for a while. I'ts a pretty complext part (at least for me) with several holes and curvatures. At least it's symmetrical on one axis.
I see Diamond polygons, they’re everywhere, how often do you see them, all the time 💎
Man, you nailed it again. I got a headache recently trying to model one of those complex oni masks. Not only does the facial side of the mask has to look organic and nice with all its complex details, but it has to have the right curvature and even thickness as well. Not even to mention that the inside has to have somewhat of the negative shape of the face it attaches to.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
you finally posted this man ❤🔥
Yeah! I went on vacations for a week so I posted it late
Wait a thousand year for your new tutorial lol, still awesome as always!!!
Hahaha thanks so much 🙏
nice edge flow
Thank you Guillaume!
God of blender lol very good distribution of quads!
Haha thank you, it means a lot 🙏
is it a coincidence that I started playing God of War recently again
Ragnarok is the best solo game imo 💪
At the end with the smoothed wireframe view that is just insane
Thanks !! Pretty cool isn't it ? 😄
@@ThomasColin3D looks extremely professional to the point that I think professionals would use a bunch of workarounds to avoid the work lol, great stuff
Thank you so much haha
You are the fucking topo KING 🙏🏼
Thanks man!
Thank you so much for such a thorough tutorial on Topology!
Thanks for watching !
Need lattice to make it more rounded, i think. Topology was insane ❤
Thank you! Yeah you're right that would be a nice way to make it more rounded!
Let's gooo. Been looking forward to this video
🫡💪🙏
@@ThomasColin3D I'm honestly amazed how easy you make it look. Also, what does Zflow do exactly? I thought it was doing the same as "space" in Looptools
@@homborgor thanks :D Set Flow does the same thing than Space from the loop tools but on curved surfaces, it allows to evenly space out the edges while keeping a good curvature
@ThomasColin3D ohhh nice. Funnily enough, I was struggling with that in a model I was just making
@@homborgor try to add it to your workflow, it's game changer!
You are the saviour of my life ❤
12:57 take my money 💰
When she realizes it’s not texture baked 👰🏼♀️
Wow.. This was awesome.. How do you guys get so good at this.. Wow..
I do this since 11 years :)
Good job!
Thanks!
another awesome tutorial !
Thanks!
Amazing work!
I'm a beginner so it would be nice to get your oppinion. Sometimes it feels wrong to add 20+ vertecis in a edge cut just to fix one or two triangles. Is it correct approatch? Should there be a balacne between triangles/ngons and vertex count or perfect all quad topology is always worth extra vertecies?
Well it depends. You don't have to get quads everywhere is this is what you mean. Triangles and ngons are fine on flat surfaces, and if they don't make any shading issues, it's ok. I would usually avoid using them, but if you really want to get rid of them, you can add apply one level of subdivision and they will be turned into quads.
You can also add extra edge loops, the poly count doesn't really matter if your modeling a high poly mesh.
beautiful
Thank you!
This is some good topology porn. God of Blender never fails to disappoint
Thanks haha
amazing tutorial! thank u!!!
Thank you ! :)
maestro
🙏
i'm speechless
TOP
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful ❤❤
Thanks man !
I really really would like to know how you would go about doing the patterns, if you are going to do it with displacement, will you actually model the entire pattern?
What patterns are you talking about ?
The patterns that are on the weapon, The texture on it
Thx man I learned alot
You're welcome! 🫡
When u worked in the industry did you always model them in all quads? Im curios because how much time consuming to make sure it got perfect quads 😅
I still work in this industry! Yes I always use quads because I manly make film assets. It's not that time consulting because I know perfectly what I do and I don't even think about it anymore. 🙂 It's just a matter of experience !
He’s the one 💊
😂😂
more videos please
How did you make your reference picture transparent in the white areas? Is it a different image? Thanks!
The picture I imported was a png, it already had a transparent background around the axe :)
Easier to manually draw it and save it as svg then use a plugin to convert to polygons
That's not the point of the tutorial, people are here to learn about hard topology !
It was a veryyyy nutritious video for those who want to really learn modelling. If you are curious whether or not should you watch it, well I recommend you dont even hesitate! Just watch it and learn it!
Genius
@@Xizilqou thank you!
coming from Aryan's channel, I loved your videos that's all helping me a lot.
Thank you very much man 🙏🏻
This is some insane stuff dude. I tried getting into 3D years ago and struggled with modelling, getting back into it now for games dev. The detail required in this model is incredible and the way you keep on top of the topology throughout the process rather than just cleaning up at the end is so interesting. Please turn on the screencast keys, there are so many awesome things you’re doing here that I don’t want to miss.
Thanks man :) I can't enable screencast keys because I have my own custom shortcuts. You could not follow the tutorial haha
@@ThomasColin3D ahaha fair enough. Have you just changed some of the default shortcuts to something else or are there features that you use so often that you’ve mapped them to a shortcut?
@@YMRGUITAR I have something like 15 custom shorcuts haha and 4 on my mouse buttons
Amazing! I learned a lot from this video
Thanks 🙂
I wonder how usuable that is as a game object. Does it have to many polys?
It's not! My models are film assets, not game assets :)
@@ThomasColin3D what would be the next step? Retopoloty to bake?
@@cyberzs4285 decimate the high poly to make a low poly, then bake
I would have cried
@@Xzipiit xd it's a hard model yeah !
Ugh this is so cool. How can one learn proper modeling? Do you offer mentorship? I really want to get better but UA-cam University isn't super helpful in that department. Videos are soo dry
Yes I do, I already thaught about doing mentorship, i'll add a new subscription on Patreon for people like you who would be interested. Join my discord server and send me a DM to talk about that :)
I just started the mentoring program, all the informations are on my discord server and on my patreon page !
@@ThomasColin3D Oh snap. Nice! Will be reaching out soon :) thanks. The road to becoming a 3D generalist is challenging but been very rewarding
@@Shka_maru Thanks man :)
Thomas how do you get hte edge flow option?
You have to install the set flow Addon, it's free and it's in the description !
@@ThomasColin3D Thank you very much
Thanks, you have amazing knowledge and control on the topology!!
Thanks Elric :)
How an amazing work you did!I learned so much from your video! Thanks!
Thank you very much my Friend! I'm glad you learned something 🙏🙂
Thank you very much my Friend! I'm glad you learned something 🙏🙂
Impressive man
Thank you very much 🙏
Hello, Topology god. Thank you for your blessings.
Hey man! Thanks for the kind words 🙏🫡
@@ThomasColin3D I have a question. Is this also the way to retopologize sculpted models to be low-poly?
@@phy6geniuxYTcreations yes you could do that to retopologize
