Some lucky cattlemen will go home with some fantastic Sonne Farms bull calves soon. You chose the right cattle handling equipment with your Arrowquip setups, makes the processes you choose efficient and effective. Your knees held up with your calf chase, Cole, nicely done.

Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian. It was interesting.
Wonderful job of working your herd. Absolutely great teamwork.
My compliments to both of you for being amazingly fine herdsmen. You both are the best!!!!!!!!!
You give your calves the finest care that is for sure and the moms also. Amazing to watch you manage the herd. Nice.
You got the tractor cleaned up getting it ready for a paint finish job like the other had earlier. Means you liked the first one done I hope.
Cleaning out the stock trailer and the manure smell means money to me. Hang in there.
Good run Cole catching that calf. Yea.
Great song and music Brian for the song of the day. Thanks Brian.
About it I guess. You both take care and be safe. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Thanks.

Great song Brian, I had forgotten all about it. “We’re gonna get wild, wild, wild.” I guess it was not too wild, Cole didn’t tear his meniscus whilst dodging a cow. May I just say…all the cattle looked great! In fact-they looked delicious!❤❤❤

You make working cattle look easy! I was asked to brush hog a friends field on his ranch on Saturday to get it ready for goose hunting and his young black Angus kept charging at me when I came though the gate and was trying to get to the tractor. I was thinking I could use a slappy or a Brian or a Cole to help. I sure didn't know what to do!

I like watching your videos more than watching Yellow Stone. Only the calves get shot and in the end everyone is happy. I also use barbwire gates. I swapped the 3" wood posts supports for 2" galvanized tubing, much lighter & easier on the back. Add a foot pad for muddy conditions? You guys have the best looking weanling calves. You must have really good DNA in your bulls & cows. Awesome!!

As a youngster, standing in line at the feed store, I complained about the smell of a nearby dairy farm. The well heeled farmer type standing behind me said “sweetheart, that’s the sweet smell of money, lots and lots of money!”
    I’m 78 now, never forgot it😉.

I'm a city girl that finally got away from pulling a reefer after many years & started pulling a hopper. My favorite runs were always to farms with their feed. I loved dealing with farmers. Good people, gave me lots of info on the way they did things, etc. But I remember one older gentleman that said that same thing while I was unloading his feed. It was a particularly hot day & the breeze was FULL of that scent of $$$. I miss ALL of that now.

  • @hackatak
    @hackatak Рік тому +2

I must compliment you and the quality of your equipment, many ranchers tend to piece meal a makeshift pen together and get more labor to help with the gathering, hauling, working, etc. not realizing the money they may save (from labor costs alone) by just having better equipment has a pretty good ROI.
Secondly, the cost of a high headed calf or cow pushing through a less than stellar pen, make them just that much harder to catch again and they will inevitably try to find a hole in the pen and escape or try to, which in turn drives up expenses and wastes time.
Keep up making the great videos.

Have you and your dad thought about expanding the pool of cattle processed through "Farmer Grade" All heifers and bulls not passing Veterinarian review for breading stock. Another Possibility would be pulling some of the backgrounding maybe not registered Angus but Angus to feeding out to add to Farmer grade? The fall born backgrounding calves selected could also add a second Farmer Grade Beef time slot.

Do you ever get used to them as they beller like that year after year? I grew up on a farm and I have always felt a bit sad for them being separated from their moms.. but I also know it’s important to do it because the cows can’t support them and their new calf at the same time
You definitely get your workout unfolding that chute

Cole here is a million dollar idea for you, you should put a slot in the front of the cattle trailer so you can slide in a spray bar and hook a garden hose up to it, then when you want to clean it, park it some where and put the spray bar in and let it run for awhile and maybe most of the stuff will run out on its own, then you can go it and scrub the rest out.
