    I give your Dad a lot of credit for doing the videos, even some by himself and explaining things. My Dad would have never been bothered with it.

    I milked for over 40 years and your videos bring back so many good memories. Thanks for another great video! Been a loyal subscriber since very early on and have enjoyed watching your channel grow! We farm land that is very hilly also,so you can truly appreciate the silage chopping and hay videos too. Most folks that farm level ground don’t understand the value of simply unhooking a loaded wagon without checking to see which way it is going to roll and parking it with the lay of the ground,or planting your corn in such a way that you are not turning on a steep hill. Fun to watch your dad always planning for that!

      Thank you for sharing your experiences! It’s incredible to hear from someone with over 40 years of milking experience-what a wealth of knowledge you must have! I'm glad the videos bring back those fond memories for you. Farming on hilly terrain definitely adds a unique set of challenges that many might not fully appreciate, like the careful planning needed for tasks as simple as parking a loaded wagon or planting on slopes. It’s fascinating to watch how experienced farmers like your dad anticipate and adapt to these challenges. Your insights highlight the skill and foresight required in farming beyond what most people might realize. Thanks for being a loyal subscriber and contributing to the community

    I am an old guy but I grew up on a registered holstein dairy farm back in the 60's and 70's. A great way to grow up, learned hard work and dedication. Your farm reminds me of ours. We milked about 40-45, and had a total herd of around 100.

    Aaron my favorite type of videos with the cows…that jersey/brown swiss in the beginning is beautiful ❤❤❤❤ And the close to white one after that is gorgeous.
    On another note, where we are at we are lucky if we have even gotten an 1” of snow. Keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    If he says she’s gonna have twins, I’d say she’s gonna have twins. He seems very knowledgeable about animal husbandry. I enjoy watching the milking and feeding videos.

    • @wildfarm6789
      @wildfarm6789 13 днів тому

      While it’s great to see someone knowledgeable in animal husbandry, predicting twins in livestock isn't always foolproof. It’s important to remember that even experts can’t guarantee outcomes like twin births, as many factors can influence such predictions. Watching milking and feeding videos is fascinating, but do you think they always show the full reality of the challenges in farming? It’s worth considering whether these videos sometimes oversimplify the complexities of managing animal health and reproduction

    Hey Aaron.... thanks for this video! I had requested a video showing what you all do at milking time a few weeks back. This was perfect. Nice to see what the barn looks like when it's full of cows and the milking process. Must be pretty nice there. You guys are dressed pretty light. I'm surprised to see chains on back of that 7405 with the front wheel assist. Does it get icy around your yard?

    It would seem that a forage box with side delivery would be so much easier than your dump wagon and then all that physical labor you have to put into spreading it out after you make several dumps.

    • @haraldoudevoshaar7894
      @haraldoudevoshaar7894 14 днів тому

      Exactly, take a forage wagon and turn it into a trailer instead of wagon style, all that manual labour is great but it’ll break the body down over time, we use to have a stationary mixer and wheelbarrow and pitch fork to feed our dairy sheep little over 200’ of feed manger. When we switched to jaylor A50 drive on tmr we really noticed the difference it makes on your body. Can be done without breaking the bank.

  • @Mr.Becker-fq4bj
    @Mr.Becker-fq4bj 15 днів тому

    Have you guys looked into a TMR mixer or an old style mixer / small chopper box to feed your cows. Alot of work with the dump trailer. The older you get you will think about it more body's don't stay strong forever

    Should think about a used tmr mixer would mix your feed better could put baled hay in with silage and just have feed tmr

    • @DickAnderson-k9y
      @DickAnderson-k9y 15 днів тому

      No need for TMR mixer based on the way they build their silage pile. They put silage hay down to start the pile and cover it then uncover the pile and add corn silage on top of in the fall. Then Recover pile until they are ready to feed from it. As they scoop up the pile, it’s already mixed with 1st and 2nd cutting hay along with the corn silage. Then they feed it out directly.

    you work so hard, lots of manual labor, cant you find a better way, a feed wagon would be great, a small bobcat that will fit in the barn would speed up feeding, instead of all the fork work, load the feed wagon with a tractor and leave the bobcat by the cows to spread the feed. You have a great farm, just thinking of ways to make it easy and faster for you. Its hard to change old habits.
