I milked for over 40 years and your videos bring back so many good memories. Thanks for another great video! Been a loyal subscriber since very early on and have enjoyed watching your channel grow! We farm land that is very hilly also,so you can truly appreciate the silage chopping and hay videos too. Most folks that farm level ground don’t understand the value of simply unhooking a loaded wagon without checking to see which way it is going to roll and parking it with the lay of the ground,or planting your corn in such a way that you are not turning on a steep hill. Fun to watch your dad always planning for that!
Thank you for sharing your experiences! It’s incredible to hear from someone with over 40 years of milking experience-what a wealth of knowledge you must have! I'm glad the videos bring back those fond memories for you. Farming on hilly terrain definitely adds a unique set of challenges that many might not fully appreciate, like the careful planning needed for tasks as simple as parking a loaded wagon or planting on slopes. It’s fascinating to watch how experienced farmers like your dad anticipate and adapt to these challenges. Your insights highlight the skill and foresight required in farming beyond what most people might realize. Thanks for being a loyal subscriber and contributing to the community
I am an old guy but I grew up on a registered holstein dairy farm back in the 60's and 70's. A great way to grow up, learned hard work and dedication. Your farm reminds me of ours. We milked about 40-45, and had a total herd of around 100.
Aaron my favorite type of videos with the cows…that jersey/brown swiss in the beginning is beautiful ❤❤❤❤ And the close to white one after that is gorgeous. On another note, where we are at we are lucky if we have even gotten an 1” of snow. Keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad to hear that the calf with the broken leg has recovered and is doing well, it warms my heart. Also, my hat's off to you guy's for not giving up on her, that's how good herdsmen care for their animals. Thanks for giving the update, I very much appreciate it.
If he says she’s gonna have twins, I’d say she’s gonna have twins. He seems very knowledgeable about animal husbandry. I enjoy watching the milking and feeding videos.
While it’s great to see someone knowledgeable in animal husbandry, predicting twins in livestock isn't always foolproof. It’s important to remember that even experts can’t guarantee outcomes like twin births, as many factors can influence such predictions. Watching milking and feeding videos is fascinating, but do you think they always show the full reality of the challenges in farming? It’s worth considering whether these videos sometimes oversimplify the complexities of managing animal health and reproduction
I wish I knew your dads secret to maintaining his energy level. I’ve been watching for a while and he never loligags, he is always just like he just started a task. He could be shoveling something and he looks like he’s looking for a gold bar in it or something. Please tell us the secret!
Hey Aaron.... thanks for this video! I had requested a video showing what you all do at milking time a few weeks back. This was perfect. Nice to see what the barn looks like when it's full of cows and the milking process. Must be pretty nice there. You guys are dressed pretty light. I'm surprised to see chains on back of that 7405 with the front wheel assist. Does it get icy around your yard?
Love your videos, you need a feed wagon that unloads from the side, would save from all the pict fork work, I know from experience. Take care and a happy new year
Just a thought young man? Make a long bar to keep at the silage pile so you can hook it up to the skidsteer and move the tires around rather than climbing on the pile? Love the channel and thank you.
A Video topic could be why you guys choose not to have some sort of feed wagon, tmr or just regular style feed wagon versus hauling it with dump wagon and then scooping it around
I have a feeling that Laura Wilson, out in Nebraska, would really enjoy the work here. A bit different from the beef cows her dad Cale raises. Feeding calves would be right up her alley!
It would seem that a forage box with side delivery would be so much easier than your dump wagon and then all that physical labor you have to put into spreading it out after you make several dumps.
Exactly, take a forage wagon and turn it into a trailer instead of wagon style, all that manual labour is great but it’ll break the body down over time, we use to have a stationary mixer and wheelbarrow and pitch fork to feed our dairy sheep little over 200’ of feed manger. When we switched to jaylor A50 drive on tmr we really noticed the difference it makes on your body. Can be done without breaking the bank.
Have you guys looked into a TMR mixer or an old style mixer / small chopper box to feed your cows. Alot of work with the dump trailer. The older you get you will think about it more body's don't stay strong forever
thats how i did it 41yrs silage pile & wagon to 66stall barn & 12 more switch group sand freestall shed why fight frozen silage in stave silos all winter. it was cold/foggy better part of december kept thinking about the dairy farmers its hard on cows calves and those who work in it no day off
No need for TMR mixer based on the way they build their silage pile. They put silage hay down to start the pile and cover it then uncover the pile and add corn silage on top of in the fall. Then Recover pile until they are ready to feed from it. As they scoop up the pile, it’s already mixed with 1st and 2nd cutting hay along with the corn silage. Then they feed it out directly.
I wouldn't want to bet against your dad's experience. Let's say, yes the cow will have twins. The bet is, will it be two bulls, two heifers, or one of each? I say two heifers.
My dad wanted me to ask (he loves watching your videos) if you will have anymore cow bells for sale? Apparently he wants to buy one for me since I love cows.
you work so hard, lots of manual labor, cant you find a better way, a feed wagon would be great, a small bobcat that will fit in the barn would speed up feeding, instead of all the fork work, load the feed wagon with a tractor and leave the bobcat by the cows to spread the feed. You have a great farm, just thinking of ways to make it easy and faster for you. Its hard to change old habits.
I give your Dad a lot of credit for doing the videos, even some by himself and explaining things. My Dad would have never been bothered with it.

that silage was a Christmas dinner! Great video . My bet is on twins.
Cattleman will always take cold over warm and damp cattle look good happy new year

i have a soft spot for brown swiss i remember $10.00 a 100 wt it wasn't much. watching you guys brings back memories love the cannel.
Prices today still aren't much, when you compare how much they've increased compared to operational costs.
I love you guys and wonderful videos ❤
HI good evening Gierek farms from Indiana
Love the farming. Lots of work!!
I wonder if you could come up with a better delivery system when bringing in the hay? One fork at a time seems like a lot of running back and forth?
For any farmer that raised tobacco in Wisconsin. This is perfect case weather for taking it down out of sheds.
Been there done that - then the nasty job of stripping!
Happy New Year
thank you

Great content!
When you clean out your pens have you ever used lime on the wet floors before spreading new bedding?
I think twins too. Are you thinking about building a free stall extention with a milking parlor ?
A Video topic could be why you guys choose not to have some sort of feed wagon, tmr or just regular style feed wagon versus hauling it with dump wagon and then scooping it around
nice

How many times a wk do you haul up the silage from the pile sir ??? Thanks for sharing!
did you ever think about getting a belt feeder for the barn and a TMR would work out better for you
thats how i did it 41yrs silage pile & wagon to 66stall barn & 12 more switch group sand freestall shed why fight frozen silage in stave silos all winter. it was cold/foggy better part of december kept thinking about the dairy farmers its hard on cows calves and those who work in it no day off
TMR mixer round bales and corn silage
Would a feed wagon or mixer wagon work for fence line feeding. Great video. Thanks
I feel like a tmr mixer of some kind would save you guys some time and labor! Just my 2cents
Veri nice bhai jan
Do you guys still use the trainers?
Should think about a used tmr mixer would mix your feed better could put baled hay in with silage and just have feed tmr

i see you guys don't have a mixer wagon that would make it easyer to mix your feed
What brand wagon do you have? It seems very versatile.
Awesome vdeo

Good
How many cows are you milking?
You guys need a TMR. It would save a lot of labor and time
I see the tire chains are on. All you need now is a really big snowstorm !?
Why don't you use feed troughs for your herd?
You boys make me tired just watching 😅
I’d would say she’ll have twins . I can almost smell the corn silage.
Please more milking videos
My dad wanted me to ask (he loves watching your videos) if you will have anymore cow bells for sale? Apparently he wants to buy one for me since I love cows.
Hope that calf with the broken leg continues to do okay.
Great video, your merchandise is low on XL and 2XL
I bet your dad is right with the set of twins
you work so hard, lots of manual labor, cant you find a better way, a feed wagon would be great, a small bobcat that will fit in the barn would speed up feeding, instead of all the fork work, load the feed wagon with a tractor and leave the bobcat by the cows to spread the feed. When we gonna see that sweet magnum dualled up??
Sweet and magnum shouldn't be used in same sentence
DAD IS KNOLLAGE.
Do you live in eau Claire
Is milking the only income off the farm? They don’t pay enough for what the milk is worth.
Snow not to deep.
Bale un roller is the job,but U doing fine
Has she ever had twins before
Or was she a twin
Do you kill the cows for meat? They are too cute to eat 😂
Looks like it’s a little froggy lol foggy
If that was the case every one would be farming

Devi parlare meno e fare vedere gli animali grazie
