OMG I love this kind of videos. I feel like we are always talking about the same books over and over, there is nothing better than having something different to add to our tbrs! My hidden gem is also The Sword of Kaigen, I don't know how is not more popular, everyone loves that book. I also love Malice by John Gwynne, but his books are a bit more popular. I'm actually reading Foundryise LOL It's a good one, it reminds me of Brandon Sanderson's style a lot!
Yayyy! Thank you!! I also adore them!! I am legit outraged about The Sword of Kaigen not being more famous lol! Ohhh! Let me know how do you feel about Foundryside afterwards!! 💕 I do think it has a Mistborn vibe!!
Just finished reading Guns of the Dawn because of your standalone video and really enjoyed it. So thanks! Looks like I'll be reading Sword of Kaigen soon 😂
Yay! Thank you so much Hanna!! Yes please!!! Read them! Guns of the Dawn was fantastic! 🎊 and the Winnowing Flame trilogy was amazing! 🥹 thank you so much for watching!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!!! I recently finished Sword of Kaigen, LOOOVEDD IT, and have been searching high and low for more Asian-inspired fantasy ever since so will be reading The Bone Shard Emperor or Shadow of the Fox next!!
Yayyyy!! I am so so glad it helped!! 🥹✨!! Ugh! Sword of Kaigen is incredible! It deserves more love!! Shadow of the Fox is really young adult & a quest w/ a grumpy vs sunshine trope, meanwhile The Bone Shard Daughter (book 1) is adult fantasy and a blend of almost sci-fi & horror! Btw, I just finished “Magic Steeped in Poison”) also Asian inspired) and loved it!! And although this is not Asian-inspired, really it conquered my heart just the same as Sword of Kaigen: Guns of The Dawn! Pleeease give it a try!!
@@FunFantasyBooks Ooooo okay well if you think Guns of the Dawn is on par w Sword of Kaigen then I'll give that a go next!!! I've watched a few of your vids now and I trust your judgement :P Thanks again for the recommendations / fantasy content, hugely appreciated!!!!
Thank you so much!! Haha yay!! I am always on the fence on whether or not to share my Spanish editions so really, thanks for saying that you loved it! It gives me the confidence I needed to keep sharing them!✨🥹
Awww! Thank you so much then!! I am really happy you did! ✨💕 it warms my heart to know that the videos make sense to you and have the chance to know you! Hopefully i can keep delivering value to you!! 🎉
Great recommendations. I did figure out why so few have reviewed them however. Every book here costs more tha $9 in Kindle alone, and much more for paperback or hard bound books. Most YA readers don't have more than that budget for weekly, or even sometimes monthly purchases. Fascinating reviews, subscribed anyway. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for taking the effort of checking them out!! It’s a shame that less known books remain expensive! (although I just bought Sorcery of Thorns for 11€ in Kindle and I like “WHAT”)!! Thank you so much for watching & the sub! Welcome to this small family! 🫶
I gotta recommend "The Traitor Baru Cormorant". Emotionally heavy but a great examination of how imperialism works on and through people, I just finished the third novel and am looking forward to the next. Currently sitting below 17,000 ratings. Already had Foundryside and Black Sun on my list and will probably add Sword of Kaigen too, now.
Just checked the series on Goodreads! Sounds really interesting! Although it does sound as an something emotionally charged read!! Added to my TBR list! Yeees! Please add Sword of Kaigen it’s honestly fantastic! Thanks for watching & sharing a rec!!
I always like hidden gems videos- there are so many great books out there that we’ll never find so these videos help! Sword of Kaigen has been on my TBR for awhile - I really need to get to it
Yay!! I’m glad you like these type of videos! I also find them very helpful!! Pleeeeeease! Give Sword of Kaigen a try soon! It miiight become one of your favorites 🥹✨!! Any book you’d like to share? Thank you so much for watching!!
@@FunFantasyBooks no recommendations because I'm going to do a video like this sometime soon! :). No spoilers lol. I will be reading Sword of Kaigen at some point, the problem is the TBR is TOO BIG

I loved the Shadow of the fox series. So I search for something with a similar wibe and found the Red winter trilogy by Annette Marie. It is a fantasy romance in an eastern setting with lots of action and magic. I think it's fantastic and really recommend it. Also the firs book Red Winter has only 8741 rating, with an average of 4.28 stars, so I'd say it's also a hidden gem 🤩 The other books on your list are also on my TBR. Now I feel motivated to read them as soon as possible 😊
Oh!!! But it sounds amazing!! Now I am absolutely obsessed about Res Winter haha I need to finish some books this month, but really if I can.. I’ll read it this month! Sound really fantastic and 100% a hidden gem! Thank you so much for watching and sharing a rec!! 💕
Bone Shard Daughter and Bone Shard Emperor are soooooo goooooood. I preordered the final book because I NEED TO KNOW so many things that were left in the air with BSE. Not enough people are talking about these. Lol
The Drowning Empire series is SOOO good!! I can’t wait for book 3!! I hate it is next year lmao!! I agree it deserves more love!! How! Just how is this not more famous! So so happy to find other lover of the series! Thanks for watching & sharing your thoughts 💕!!
Great recommendations and video!!! I have one for you, after hearing most of your recommendations I believe you will love the Shattered kingdom series by Angelina J. Steffort. Don’t know if you read it, I don’t hear it going around at all so you might check it out! Fantasy, adventure, great, smart heroine, mystery, hidden fae and magic and dragons and great world building. I could not put the books down, read the first three one after the other, now I’m on the 4th
Yay!! Thank you so much!! I’m very happy you liked it!! 💕 - I have not read it! Just added it to my TBR list 🥹! It does sound as something right down my alley! Thanks for the recommendation!
Dark Rise!! Please get to it when you can! I loved it so much! It has such a strong beginning and really, I was so surprised overall! Did not see any plot twist!! ⚡️ And massive yayyy for Julie Kagawa! I feel as well that not enough people love her work!! Thank you so much for watching! Any book you’d like to recommend? 💕
Yay!! I’m so glad you think it’s wonderful!! ✨🥹!! Is there any book from the list that has grabbed your attention? Or some book/series you’d like to recommend?
Vita Nostra by marina and sergey dyachenko is one of my recent favorites and only has 12k ratings, dark/psychological fantasy. no action/fighting but still great none the less.
