I hope u get enough views to make a few bucks in addition to getting our admiration for your talent. Keep up the good work. I like your positive vibe.
Thank you for this! You and Marty Music are the only guitar teachers I can find on UA-cam that don't go through the lesson ridiculously fast and expect everyone to know the song! You take your time and make sure people understand.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all of the lessons!! You're the first channel I come to to find songs I want to learn! I also love the friendly environment it feels like we're just hanging out playing guitar together. Another great Soundgarden song in a similar if not the same tuning is head down that I would love to learn from you! All the best!
Great lesson, this can be a tough song ,always blows me away how they / he came up with these tunings and chord Rhythms / progressions, , they’re like alien rock ,but it also seems to match C.C unique voice , great video thanks
I learned this back in the 90s from tabliture in a guitar magazine wayyyy before Utube, smartphones or anything like that. Thanks, Pat. Great stuff. I was wondering about the latter part of the progression following the slide from the 3rd fret up to the 12th. From there you 'toggle' between an octave 'C' and then, as you instruct, use your pinky to on the G, B but not baby E strings. I actually bar the Baby E and B strings with my pinky on this cord and then do the same when sliding down to the 10th. Gives it a slightly diff character but I find it a lot easier to play. Sounds pretty good, too. Thoughts? Anyway, great lesson. Thanks :)

When I was studying the Method at acting school. I was always taught the “character” is funniest when he does not know he is being funny. :) The first two notes sound like the beginning of Sweet home Alabama. I have been trying to learn to play songs by ear. Basicly training my ear? Is there any techniques you could recommend that would help me in that journey. That’s why I really love your channel. Because you are really a great teacher, plus I needed to learn some Pearl Jam songs pretty quick. Your teach them the best. I have found in here. At least for me.
Nice work. Great vid. Why am I not hearing that funky Dom M7 sound in your opening chords? It really cries out to me in the recording, almost country, but I don't hear it here. Otherwise stellar. Thanks! Thoughts?
the crux of that tone is that ridiculous guitar which was frankensteined together from an old starcaster body that my buddies were abusing in effigy in their recording studio - we put some old pickups from one of my guitars in it and the rest is history. I believe i gave it to one of my students when I left the west coast.
ah yes, that was a junk body that my buddy put the old electronics from my Strat into when I had them upgraded. I gave it to one of my students on my departure from CA.
for sure... i've made some abalone (standalone) videos about particular tunings - not sure if this one is included though (most unhelpful reply of the decade award...)
Ryan, just like a cellmate of mine told one of the last times I was in prison, he said, "Dude, you're just alright". (Actually he said a lot of things but that's the only thing I can repeat in a public setting.)

Also, having three O buttons might seem a bit out there, but just think of how useful they would be when typing words like 'boohoo' or 'woohoo'.
IIII. We should replace the spacebar with another R button. The reasons for this are plentiful:
- Firstly, no one actually knows what the spacebar does. When you click the spacebar, the screen remains unchanged. What is a button that appears to do nothing good for?!
- Secondly, the spacebar has been the greatest source of disappointment in my life. Whenever I click the spacebar, I do so in anticipation of being transported to a cool bar in outer space. This has not happened as of yet.

- Fourthly, just imagine how useful it would be to both zombies AND pirates to have the spacebar replaced with an extra R button. It would effectively reduce the time it takes to type words like 'arrrrrrrrrgh' or 'grrrrrrrr' by IIIII0 percent!
IIIII. We should add a new button to the keyboard with a ? on it. This button would then be called the Mystery Button. No one knows what the Mystery Button does. Fun!
IIIIII. The letters P, R, O, P, R, I, O, C, E, P, T, I, O and N should be placed consecutively. This would make it much easier AND quicker to type the word 'proprioception', which, of course, is the best of all the words.

Me.
Ryan helps me travel back to a much simpler time....
:)
Thanks alot for doing this.
you're most welcome Thumpd!
Ryan - can you possibly do a bass lesson from Burden in My Hand?
that's a nice idea
@@RyanLendt it's a complicated line and it would be nice if you broke it down. Thanks!
Nice work. Great vid. Why am I not hearing that funky Dom M7 sound in your opening chords? It really cries out to me in the recording, almost country, but I don't hear it here. Otherwise stellar. Thanks! Thoughts?
Thanks Claytrell!I just gave it a listen... what is a Dom M7?
Awesome dude, thanks!
You're welcome Darth!
Yes!!! Very helpful.
Glad you liked it Saby :)
Dude how did you get this tone?
the crux of that tone is that ridiculous guitar which was frankensteined together from an old starcaster body that my buddies were abusing in effigy in their recording studio - we put some old pickups from one of my guitars in it and the rest is history. I believe i gave it to one of my students when I left the west coast.
6:27 idk what an open c power chord is on the 5th can you explain please
Ryan is there a particular kind of open C tuning they use? Is it CGCGCE, CEGCEG, CGCGGE, or CCGCEC? Or is it CCCCCC?
I don't know how to play enough soundgarden songs to be able to speak to that question. ask me in five years :)
Crossfield, YES! Nice pull, m8.
haha! first person to recognize that! your trophy is in the mail :P
Thanks Ryan- I miss Chris.
Me too :(
BTW, what strat is that and what's up with the painter's tape...lol
ah yes, that was a junk body that my buddy put the old electronics from my Strat into when I had them upgraded. I gave it to one of my students on my departure from CA.
Dude you might as well sing it too! Sounds damn good
thanks IHIS!
Thank you bro
you are most welcome bro
I will forever use the phrase "baby E-string."
:)
Sweet! What else is played in open C tuning?
gosh that's a great question - i have no idea!
Como esta afinada esa guitarra?
I don't recall - but I know I said it in the video
Maybe you can teach how to tune guitar to different tuning. It’s pretty difficult for a beginner
for sure... i've made some abalone (standalone) videos about particular tunings - not sure if this one is included though (most unhelpful reply of the decade award...)
Mister Ryan, any plans to do A Thousand Days Before? It's the same tuning as Burden i believe
what a great idea.
nice one !!
Thanks Lee!
Could you do piano covers too?
In the beginning Chris cornell played it with no fingers one string up. Its the same key
oh! I understand
Got the Crossfield reference, disappointed you didn't attempt the accent!
or wear the glasses
Super mega cool 🤩
glad you liked it!
FINALLY!!!!

thank you for the feedback Stelios :)
Ryan, just like a cellmate of mine told one of the last times I was in prison, he said, "Dude, you're just alright". (Actually he said a lot of things but that's the only thing I can repeat in a public setting.)
haha. thank you for that Getz, and your discretion :P
Fuckin love ya man lol. Great lesson on this fuckin iconic song bro!!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed that Cameron!
