I'm not even kidding. I don't need to be fed apple sauce with a little spoon. You've got a showing how play a tune style/niche for the big Boys who don't need baby food. I love the way you show. Once again I say thank god!!!
This is amazing! I love your teaching style. Quirky yet highly informative. I get learn how to play cool songs with different chord shapes and know what they're called. Thank you for this treasure! 🤘🏼🙏🏼❤️
This is one of my favorites, thanks! Can’t believe it’s possible to do it this way, thanks for figuring it out for us, this is an accomplishment. Campfire Jeremy next? 😄
Youve helped me so much over the years -- ive learned from many many of your videos and will soon be contributing to your patrion. Great lesson -- its a beast, im starting baby steps with this one, its tough but have 1week to learn this before i play it with Kim Thayil, and this camp fire version helps as I have so many songs I need to learn. I'm having to learn several Soundgarden, AIC and PJ songs... And your tutorials are a tremendous help!!!! I'm not a pro - pretty novice if you ask me. it's pretty insane - I am doing a 4 day music camp in L.A. next week, where I work with Dave Kristen (original drummer from Pearl Jam 10 album), Jerry Cantrell and Kim Thayil (along with some others like guys from Candlebox and Jane's Addiction - Britt Lightning, lead guitarist from Vixen is my band leader) - and get to jam with them all - and then it culminates with a Saturday night show at The Viper Room and Sunday night show at the Whiskey A Go-Go - which are open to the public. If you had one question for any of them what would it be? In addition to learning the music, I am trying to come up with questions and topics I want to discuss with them -- i dont want to shotgun pelt them with questions, Ill try to let the conversation flow, but I want to at least have some things ready to roll if its tossed to me. If you had 1 thing you could ask, what would it be? I wont promise I can or will ask it but who knows ...... you have alot of experience and background in all their different styles and I respect you and your perspective and think you might help me out here. I will of course report back - gonna take lots of pics and videos -- I am going to have a "paparazzi" person following me around, documenting it all for me to have memories -- so I dont have to worry about trying to do it myself, I can just jam and enjoy myself and the company. Thanks again - I am so excited and so I'm going to kick some ass!!!! --- wish me luck - love your channel!
Brilliant! Love every bit of this, but just in case anyone has trouble (as I do) with the Dsharp and D after the G, I found it easier myself (and sounds fine on my acoustic) to follow G with normal "B-shape" bar chord at 6th and 5th frets relative to capo. It helps the sound of those to make sure the low E string is fingered and heard at 6th and 5th frets, too. Thanks Ryan, your lessons are ridiculously helpful. Way back when (pre-internet), I randomly figured a few riffs from 'Burden' while in open-C trying to play Leo Kottke & Ani DiFranco songs, no joke! But never could fathom the whole tune. Fast-forward to your previous open-tuning lesson, and I was able to struggle through the whole thing. Still haven't committed to owning an extra guitar just to leave it in open-C, so the chances for playing this have been rare ..... now you've fixed all that. Priceless.
I LoVe that you called it a Campfire Edition. I love alternate tunings, almost too much. Realized I don’t know any songs in standard tuning and how prohibitive that can be unless one has an army of guitars and roadie in tow, or Buckleys perfect pitch to tune back quick on the spot, thereby risking string pops, you know the drill. Anyways. I loathe standard tuning arrangements but I’ll try and sort this out - lesson gets a bit confusing at the chorus without lyrics and a proper play though but Imma try and work with this and Songardens bar chord version but that adjusted G with the tri tone is a key color so props. I need some Cornell tunes to rise to one can play in command. Hopefully something to show off soon. Anyways. I literally named this phase I’m in Campfire Tunes to focus on standard tuning songs I can enjoy and tolerate the chord voicings of. Thanks for the help.
Very wall done my friend! This one must have taken a good bit of time & patience to put together!! It's not often ya get to sit around the camp fire & hear Soundgarden. All while burning marshmallows of course! Grrrrr.
Oh my God, this should be a comedy skit. You emerge out of your studio/cave, long beard, unkempt, holding your 🎸 high as beams of sunshine appear. It's kind of ironic, I know when I attempt to learn this at my level, the instrument will probably really feel like the "Burden in my hand." You hand me cracking up with banana pudding, & then I had mentally checked out again around 7 minutes, & you say something like let your pinky just kinda flop over that B string, or something to that affect, and I lost it laughing 😂🤣😭👍👍👍. Thank you for your hard work & determination. Definitely made my day & I just woke up. 👍🎸😁.
I play this in the true tuning and I thought this would be impossible! As usual you keep blowing my mind! Sounds really nice on that guitar. Never seen this guitar with the F holes, is this a new purchase?
haha i thought it would be impossible too! that's a 1967 Kay I got at an estate auction for $130. I've gone so far as to remove the pick guard and replace the tuners.
Congratulations, great job as always! Such a good song. What was the “impossible” part of the song initially? To me it all seems like a ginormous mountain to climb. My guess is it was the “special G”, that was a cool move. I’m telling ya (aside from the legalities of it all) you could put all your campfire and ukulele adaptations into a compilation. And maybe for a moderate donation to the turtle fund........???? I’m quite sure the turtles would be living in the lap of luxury, heck maybe they could even get a hammock to swing in. Really enjoy these campfires you do!
that's so funny, i had that exact thought a couple days ago... actually i'm completely allowed to publish covers on spotify, just like 85% of the $ goes to the writer of the song, which is awesome anyway. i'm gonna keep that in my brain and see where it pops out...
Now you’re just showing off, this is not ok Ryan. I suspect the beard has given you secret powers to be able to come up with something so grand, but those powers were meant for Miss Poopadoop and Miss Poopadoop only my friend
@@RyanLendt Agreed, my thoughts, exactly, and I'm glad it's that way, grew up with their music, so they are on top of my list of fav few bands, most of them were Seattle-based musicians in the 90s. Thanks for answering, and a kool vid! :)

absolutely, other than size I haven't looked into the difference between the 15 and the 4. I was completely surprised at how versatile this amp is, lots of different inputs and switches to make a huge variety of sounds, though truth be told I'm pretty much going to 'set it and forget it'
ok, I may be forced to switch my thumbs up to a thumbs down because now every time I listen to the song I can't help but hear: "I shot my love today ... BANANA PUDDING ... would you cry for me ... I lost my head again ... BANANA PUDDING ... would you lie for me". But man, your teaching is effective to get the timing of that lick down! I am thoroughly enjoying playing this song in standard tuning the last few days.
