    Sales Update: Our dresser sold today (after being listed for one day) for $350. Our costs for paint and other supplies were about $30 so our profit was $320. There was a good amount of interest for this piece so apparently 80's oak dressers are still in demand. Who knew????👏❤👏

    I have a dresser nearly identical to this one and I've wondered what to do with it because I'm so tired of it. This has given me ideas for how I can put it to use in my dining room as a sideboard. At this time, I really don't want to invest in new pieces because what they sell these days isn't the quality I want and it's overpriced. This looks good!

      Hi rettpanda, thanks for subbing!
      This piece was one of our favorites! We actually heard back from the people who bought this and they put in a sink and a faucet and made this into a wet bar. Very fun! Yes, we almost always spray now.

    OMG I owned this piece. It's actually from the 90s. My ex husband and I (married in 92) bought the whole suite. There was an arched headboard that extended behind the nightstands, this dresser (with mirror) that he used, a wardrobe/chifferobe that I used, and a lowbow chest we shared and put the tv on. I took my wardrobe in the divorce. I still have it in my mismatched bedroom and have been wanting to redo it and the others to go better together. Because it's style is SO different from the other more regular styles I have, I wasn't sure what to do but now I have some ideas. Thanks so much for this!

      @secondchanceohana  2 роки тому

      😮 That is so cool, Julienne! This dresser had an unattached piece with some small drawers that just sat on top of it. We had no idea what to do with that and it's still in our scrap pile. We keep looking for more of these oak dressers as they seem to sell really fast.😍

      Aww, thanks Mary. We liked the white stain paint and poly, but we also tried some other colors and didn't like the way the poly dried for those. It seemed more glossy and we usually prefer matte or satin. But it's definitely worth a try to save some time.

    This transformation looks great! I love the color and raw wood contrast. I've never been a fan of this style of drawer pull (they can collect crud), but your approach has integrated them in to the over-all design. Congratulations!

    Great job refinishing this dresser. I have the exact same dresser in my bedroom. It was in great shape but I hated the orange oak look. It is solid and heavy and hard to move so I decided to finish it place by dry brushing white paint on it to give it a drift wood effect.

We're presently playing with Davinci Resolve, which is a free version and so far, we're liking it and think we can go with it when our Adobe subscription runs out. Both Adobe and Davinci are resource gobblers and require a pretty souped-up computer to run them. Always feel free to ask us anything....
