Today we take the HQ out for a drive and i review my thoughts on the stall converter in the car and if it was a good buy for a street driven mild small block Chevy - Авто та транспорт
Little gem that thing. Look after it mate.
Good little review mate, I was thinking about installing one a few years back but decided on a manual conversion.
Love it.Good job mate .
Really super. Nice sling shot feeling.
God vid mate :) its one of those mods i found that really wake the car up
That works beautifully 👍
I run a 350 with just over 400hp, running a TH400 and 2500rpm stall. The diff is a Salisbury with 2.79 gears. Its very responsive, even off the line. I live out of town so the highway gears are perfect. I've run 3.55 in the past and honestly dont think these highway gears have affected its acceleration, thanks to the stall.
Sweet bro this is what we are fit to our ht brougham
Sorry for the sub satisfactory audio.
you have been forgiven
Spas mate, loved it. ;)
Great Job thanks for that......
i've rebuilt my 350 and left the oem converter (rebuild costed more than expected), i think it's eating hp, but the worst part is that when i'm driving above around 40mph and go to a complete stop "quickly" it makes the engine stall.. and when the engine is cold and i put the trans in Drive, it also stalls the engine. can't wait to see the difference
I had the same issue with my stock converter, It never wanted to idle. The high stall does soak up some power but makes the car much more responsive.
Mint Job Joe she runs very well a Fucking credit to you mate, your a great engine builder and it shows man. Just curious bud do you have a customer Base as an engine builder, is building engines for someone other then for your own interest something you have considered for extra coin, if not you should mate would love to have the top end rebuilt on my holden 304 Flat tappets motor, even to just have the experience you have as a builder at your age is a complete credit to you man keep the videos coming mate as always great content and cheers.
Thankyou very much. Self taught. I have thought about building engines and i have done a few for other people in the past. I just dont have a very good workshop set up for it atm.
number plates are a give away :)
Being u have a light weight body and 4.11 rear gear this motor will not load up . The tightest gearing would be 3.36 and might help with your traction issue some what . anyways great job
Have a set of 3:31s to go into it soon to keep the higher speed revs down.
You're like a 1960s or 70s youth transferred to this godforsaken era.
Would've loved to be around when this stuff was cheap.
did you dyno the car? did you see any diff in hp?
No i have not had the car on the dyno.
@gg56850- Higher stall speed tq. Conv. Usually show a loss on the chassis dyno #s. With traction the vehicle will be much quicker. Without traction, the vehicle with a high stall speed conv., can be a skid champ!
Sed cops havnt got younyet driving like that and advertising your number plate its all evidence for them and i hate cops just trying to help u
Cheers for the heads up.
Until you need them.
It was just his driveway, right ;)
