I will say that a FTI 3200 stall converter on a stock setup makes the whole truck fill different. It fills like your towing an anchor in first gear but once you get going it feels amazing. Top it with a corvette servo and a shift kit, it’s a sleeper since nothing has been done to the engine yet.
If you was to put better rear-end gears in the truck it would take off better.
You need your tuner to look at your 1-2 shift. That was a very lazy shift! Since its a 4L60E, you should add a little more torque management so it completes the shift quicker. Ive had to fix soooo many trans tunes from a local performance tuner. Its kind of annoying and now I look for it everywhere... lol
I recently installed a 3200 stall converter on my 2003 silverado 6.0 cam stage 2 and TBSS intake but wont shift after 2nd
When i had the stock torque converter was shifting good
4l60e stock transmisión and 4:10 g80 differential
Add more torque or take it away while shifting?
Install a corvette servo
@AbslutZr add torque management, which pulls timing during shifting. Only add about 10%, then you can shorten the time needed for the shift. Under full power, I shoot for 0.125 seconds. As long as you gave the pressures and torque management in proper place, that shift is crisp and firm.
Great video, explanation. As I'm teetering on a cam selection on my LS1 Silverado build, I think you just solidified which direction I'm going to go.
I have a 99 silverado had a lm7 but had to put a lr4 in it. Put a truck norris cam, the full lifter, pushrod and trunion upgrade on michigan motorsports. I have full stock exhaust with cats, stock convertor. Stock transmission and rear gears. Truck came srock with 3:73 gears. I have a sound clip/short of it on my channel. Before the tune it obviously had no power, was out of time and died every stop but after the une he raised the idle from about 550/600-aboit 850/900. It does cause the convertor to have excess slip at stops and such like you're power braking it. Im being haunted with a p0121 code now that is tearing my transmission up. Sets transmission to full line pressure when there is a check engine light and makes it shift hard. Bangs into gears. Jasper reman with only 70k on it. Tuner isnt helping me even though ive narrowed it down to the HP tuners tune not reading the map sensor correctly. The map sensor reading it has from the cam is higher than the tuned value and needs to be raised. This map sensor reading shouldnt be there until about 30 percent throttle position on a stock cammed engine.
wow I love the sound of that camshaft...please give me the name of that cam and all the number of the specs of that camshaft...that is one mean sounding camshaft at idle and going down the street...I would love to see Dyno numbers and track time slips...if time slips look Pretty reasonable I would like to go with that setup of yours and go from there????
Very informative brother 🙌🏼 great video as always !
I appreciate it brother 🙌🏼
Nice video man 👍🏻 totally helpful
Richard Holdener dyno tested this same cam in a 5.3 and it made peak power at 7600 RPM with TrickFlow 245 cathederal ports and a BTR Trinity intake. When you get on it around 7:57 it seems like the tune shifts around 5500-6000. I assume you have stock heads and intake but even so, IMO, it probably needs to rev out more to really eat. That said I can understand the limiting factor currently may be your transmission.
Yes that was a limiting factor ! I have a tr6060 manual trans now and she eats ! Redlines at 6500 and I can feel it’s a night and day difference
@@Andregarcia5.0any reason you didn’t go with a built 4l80? Rebuilding mine as my tranny burned out the other night
Very nice truck bro sounds mint to
Great video! Truck Sounds SICK!!! Invest in a steady cam for your phone….
Great, informative video. Thanks.
Looking back now. Did you ever think it’ll be manual swapped right now? Haha
All you’re missing a torqstorm blower. Just installed mine
Top notch bro I love it
What is your average ideal rpms on cold start and when put in drive.
How do like the circle d 3400 long term? Do you wish you went with a 3600?
ive watched this video like 3 times and idk if you never mentioned it or i just missed it but what gas to you run yours on?
Awesome!! Is it the BTR Truck stage 4 or the LS Car stage 4? Thanks !!
Truck cam !
5:39 no not true all it really does is try to push through the brakes almost like supercharger surge kinda
Where did u get ur tune ?
I have a 08 Chevy Tahoe with a 5 3 in it and I was thinking about putting a stage 4 cam in it wondering can I drive it daily and will I still be able to have AC
Nice truck bro do u still have the same transmission since making this video
Thank you bro ! And I do not I now have a 6 speed manual tr6060
Are you still running shorty headers? If not would you like to sell them if you still have them?
I recently installed a 3200 stall converter on my 2003 silverado 6.0 cam stage 2 and TBSS intake but wont shift after 2nd
When i had the stock torque converter was shifting good
Its a 4l60e stock transmission 4:10 gear differential g80 and TBSS intake
Does the transmission needs to be tuned?
Yes I would recommend to get it retuned first and go from there
🔥🔥
Do you have to updraft fueling system at all? As in injectors or pump?
also did you have to get it tuned?
I don’t it’s all stock. And yes I have a street tune l
Bet your neighbors love you…
DREZZY!!
YOOOOO!!
Shut up and do another pull! Hahaha. Jk bro. But nice pull. It sounds great
Quick question do I need to install a high rpm stall on my truck in order for it to be drivable if I just tune it
No, only if you install a cam that requires it !
I have this same cam with ported heads on my 2011 sierra and drove it with stock converter for over a year with no problems other than brakes felt weird because it did not create enough vacuum at idle but thats it I finally installed a 3200 stall and love it do yourself a favor and just get the converter installed when you do your cam
@@MrUnclebuc1do you have the part number from stall bro?
What causes a car to stall? Mine does it all the time. Same motor and all
If you doing have a converter it might be your cam is too big/not tuned properly
@@charlieb7165 i called jegs. They said the stage 4 cam with 3300 stall is not streetable. Im so ready to throw in the towel. Like I said before, I have the same setup and you. The guy who did my swap doesnt tune ok the regular. He drove it and sent recordings to someone until the person felt that the car was properly tuned. Still stalls. Sighs
@@thec.mccshow4840 what state are you located I have the same set up too but you need a quality tune for it to drive the way you want it too do not get rid of it you will regret it
@@MrUnclebuc1 Louisiana
@@MrUnclebuc1 how is the drivability for you?
What rear gear are you running?
3.73 !
Trans sounds like clutches are slipping
He literally said it slips 😂
U have a link to that stall converter ?

@@Andregarcia5.0 thanks badass truck 🔥
What's your gas mileage?
I would estimate about 10 mpg hahaha
@@Andregarcia5.0I get 11mpg with my 6.0 stock 1500hd 4x4
What gear
3.73
Do the rpm stay low after 50 mph
Yes they do
