Great video! Just replaced my track bar yesterday. I found that if you just returned the wheels to center (straight), there is no need for a ratchet strap. The holes line up.
I needed to change mine for the yearly UK M.O.T. (inspection), they picked up that one of the bushings had play. I also had an annoying rattle - found that one of the captive nuts had broken loose from it's weld. But the other side had a flag nut. Changed out - all good. Same captive nuts broke on both lower shocks, common fault apparently!
the lift is the problem. my step dad just bought a 2500 with a lift and it had terrible bump steer compared to my stick ride height 3500 .everyone who gas drove it thinks it drives b ad except him.and you xant see the r oad at night I've told him he needs to ditch the lift. .
What made you feel like you needed to change those bushings? Did you have the death wobble? If so, did it fix it? I'm trying to figure out where my death wobble is coming from on my truck.
With your truck off open the door move the steering wheel back-and-forth is the cab of your vehicle sways from left to right you probably need to track bar, you could also jump on the front of your bumper push the front of your vehicle up and down and if your steering wheel moves probably gonna need a track bar. Do you have a death wobble or loose steering going over bumps probably need a track bar. You could also get under the vehicle and have someone move the steering wheel back-and-forth and you could look you will need two people it’s impossible to figure this out by yourself. My only recommendation is when you replace your bushings or your track bar all together use an impact do not torque it down the pocket will not deflecting off at 150 foot pounds to hold that bushing center in that pocket that’s the mistake I made a year ago and I’m replacing my bushings again today because they are sliding back-and-forth in the pocket.
