I just saw that a neighbor has a CT with a neat electric blue metalic wrap.
It needs an electric rear view mirror and another camera above the bed.
The various wraps and graphics out there on this are incredible. They really take the looks to another level
Cybertruck is the best selling vehicle above $100k! Imaging how it will sell once it drops in price to $60k…. It will drop significantly in cost in about a year. I am around 2 million on the reservation list

@@bluetoad2668 Im also on the list from Europe and a first hour after presentation order at around 9000 number /for a tri motor), and even though I have moved and changed address to NYC I still havnt heard anything. And even when I do I want to take delivery into Sweden instead of NYC.
Its one million on preorder now vs. the 2 million .
Just today I thought, "she needs steer by wire" after watching a failed u-turn.
Im in the 250K range on my reservation , just waiting for them to be done with the foundation series . ive been able to order the foundation since may.

When you think that the F150 ICE truck sells around 60,000 per month there is going to be a lot of growth opportunities for the CT. The message will get out how good the CT is and with more competitive pricing coming there is a good looking future

Man, you are just speaking truth
All the Cybertruck recalls have been minor. The F150 Lightning was recalled because it would start on fire. The recently released Ioniq 5N has been recalled because the ICCU will fry if driven too hard. I will take a rivet in a pedal over a fire or blown ICCU any day.

Or the minor recall where the steering wheel by wire completely fails?

There have been 4 Cybertruck recalls:
1) Accelerator Pedal Recall: In April 2024, Tesla recalled nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks due to a faulty accelerator pedal assembly. The issue was caused by the introduction of lubricant (soap) during assembly, which reduced the retention of the accelerator pad, causing it to dislodge and potentially become trapped in the vehicle's interior trim.
2) Software Recall: In January 2024, Tesla issued a software recall for 2.2 million vehicles, including Cybertrucks, because the font size of warning lights was too small to comply with safety standards. This was resolved with a software update.
3) Windshield Wiper Motor Recall: In June 2024, Tesla recalled 11,688 Cybertrucks due to a faulty windshield wiper motor controller. The problem was caused by electrical overstress to the gate driver component, which could cause the motor to fail.
4) Cosmetic Applique Recall: Also in June 2024, Tesla recalled Cybertrucks due to a cosmetic applique along the exterior of the trunk bed trim that could come off the vehicle while it's being driven, creating a road hazard.
Ford F150 Lightning recalls:
1) In January 2023, Ford recalled 18 F-150 Lightnings due to a battery cell issue that could cause a fire.
2) In March 2024, Ford recalled 112,965 F-150 trucks, including F-150 Lightnings, due to a rear axle hub bolt that may break.
3) In June 2024, Ford recalled 552,188 2014 F-150s due to an issue that could unintentionally downshift the vehicle into first gear, which could lead to a loss of vehicle control and a crash.
Ford has been making trucks for almost 100 years, and they still cannot get it right.
Toyota recalls
1) Toyota Recall 2024-07-03: Toyota recalled about 102,000 vehicles due to potential engine issues caused by machining debris. Affected models include the 2022-2023 Toyota Tundras and Lexus LXs. If you own one of these, you might want to get it checked out before it starts sounding like a coffee grinder.
2) Toyota Recall 2024-02-28: Toyota recalled approximately 381,000 Tacoma pickup trucks from the 2022 and 2023 model years due to a potential rear axle issue. If you've been feeling like your truck has been doing the "Macarena" instead of driving straight, this might be why.
3) Toyota Recall 2023-12-20: Toyota recalled 1 million vehicles, including Toyota and Lexus models, due to a defect in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors. If your car's airbags have been playing hide-and-seek, this might be the reason.
4) Toyota Recall 2023-12-21: Toyota Motor Co. recalled 1 million vehicles, including hybrid vehicles, to inspect sensors related to the airbag system. If you've been feeling like your car is playing a game of "Whack-a-Mole" with your airbags, this might be the reason.
The accelerator getting stuck is not minor.

@@DCGreenZone The best I have done 5.5 years ago is buying Tesla model 3. Since then I have lived in heaven. I have not paid one penny in maintenance or repair for 5.5 years. My Coast of running it saved me so far $17,000 . Thanks Tesla and Elon Musk.

There's a massive industry holding up ICE vehicles; oil industries, ICE manufacturers, parts manufacturers, labor unions, .etc. Very easy to pay off media outlets to misrepresent EVs and Tesla.

I decided to pull the trigger on the foundation series and I get tons of attention but most is positive and the truck is just amazing.
One reason it's the best selling vehicle over 100k is that it's actually worth the money.

Those motors are not being replaced because there's something wrong with them . They sre being replaced because he had something better . And the early adopters paid a premium so hes going to put them in the ones already sold .

@@DrDefore The difference is that the Model Y is a top selling vehicle worldwide. In my view, the Cybertruck was a mistake, at least in the medium timeframe. They reportedly spent billions to develop the CT. If true, how many to they have to sell to break even? Where would they be today if they had developed a small car, or more conventional pickup instead? I see the CT as an Elon ego project that wasn't in the company's best interests and consistent with their stated mission; as least in the medium timeframe.

We're still very much in the meme or honeymoon stage with Cybertruck. It's going to take some time before the rich fanboys have had their fill and we get to the more descerning buyers who aren't so quick to part with their money. Let's be brutally honest, it's an oversized crude lump of sharp edges. Sure, the performance was always going to be pretty good, because it is a Tesla after all.
Elon was always banging on about making things easier to make, driving costs down to achieve the goal of "speeding the change to renewable energy". Cybertruck makes no sense, it should never have been made from Stainless Steel.

CT is purchased for the same reason as some people buy BMW instead of Toyota. Both cars are usefull but the BMW advertises the owners wealth. The CT is the same as any other large truck being used as a shopping cart, the CT simply advertises the owners need to display affluence. It has become an anti Eco symbol requiring excess everything and many impractical features screams "I am so affluent".
Or it's because those who bought them really like the looks, the uniqueness, the tech, and the aura that don't exist among the competitors.
Of course it be selling well, people buy dumb stuff all the time. But it doesn't mean its worth the quality, it just means its popular.

This is funny. Its like a religion at this point. I've not liked the truck because it's pretty much useless for what I need it to do. It cannot travel 1600 miles through passes carrying a 16,000 lb fifth wheel in one shot. (I have transfer tanks.) Putting cargo into the back is difficult from the side of the truck, so its basically a El Camino. It's a horrible design. I love SpaceX and their ingenuity but this tesla vehilce is just sutprisingly aweful. My F350 outperforms it in many ways, the most important is practicality. This is not good investment.

Most people don't need a truck for heavy duty towing or cargo. The Cyber excels because it has the handling of a car, acceleration of a sportscar, and utility of a truck. For your specific needs, stick with diesel. EVs have not caught up to be a viable replacement for heavy trucking.

And the initial issues with the Cybertruck had nothing to do with its new technologies (steer-by-wire, 48 volts, rear-wheel steering, stainless steel body panels, Ethernet loop). So when compared to other new models from other automakers, the Cybertruck is actually doing quite well. But haters gonna hate.
