I decided to try make a change in the DJ community and build a UA-cam channel mainly for New DJs to get tips/tricks and advice
As we have all experienced, when you ask another DJ for advice they usually ignore you or don’t tell you anything and I want to change that.
So anything DJ related I feel like you need to know when starting out I have created a video on it.

I have created all these videos so new djs can get the information they need to progress in their dj career.
I have nearly 150 videos on my channel so run through and see if there’s anything that you like.
If you use GPU encoding, OBS does not need much CPU. (At least on windows)
I heavily suggest to at least try to run OBS and DJ software on the same machine. Telling someone to buy new hardware when there might be an easy software solution is os not gucci 👜 It's literally just a drop down menu. That way you also save to money on an audio interface.

I love the fact that you openly share your How to Dj info. I've started DJing back in 79. I agree with you. Most (95% of them. Lol.) are so tight lipped about giving advice. And most of them aren't that skilled in the craft. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and even have trained those interested. I remember what it was like when I started. I was horrible out there. I'm self taught. There were no schools back then.

Greetings DJ CEE B: I am So glad you made this process understandable for anyone beginning their journey! Now I feel like I can get started, after I get the irig, trs to trs cable, and rca cable that I didn't know I needed because controller nor mixer have trs inputs, although the mixer I want to use has usb connection.
Two questions please.
If mixer has usb connection for computer will I still need irg, trs, and rca cable ? If those items are still needed, when plugging irig into computer, is it going hopefully into the line in, in back of computer? I use the line out going into the amplifier as I play music from computer.

It would be helpful to explain how to set up 2 macbooks as you mentioned it would eleviate the heavy load from obs.
It would be nice if you also explained how to hook up to your mixer (Pioneer DJM-900NS2) along with setting up to your controller and if you are using windows.

Hey Cee B! Huge fan here. I've been watching your videos for a while now and you inspired me to start my own stream! I bought the irig but i can't seem to understand how the sound route goes. I have an old mixer (Behringher pro mixer vmx 200) so maybe i don't have the inputs it required?
Do you have a booth out on the mixer?
@@DJCEE_B just 2 main outs, amp and tape. But i’ve figured that i can AMP out to my speakers and rca to aux on tape directly to my pc (w/o the irig) at least that’s what everyone told me
Great video but when you connect the mini plug into your Mac Mini is that mic in? Not all computer like PC has an mic in. I have a Nuc 8 and it does not have mic in. This is why Irig2 has usb input now for the computer.

I'm using a windows computer/laptop. I see your using two laptops..is that the best way to stream so that you don't stress out a processor..to include having a web cam running on the 2nd laptop??

Hey CEE B great vid and I'm so keen to get this working but failing at the first hurdle. I have a Traktor Kontrol Z2 mixer which has a right and left output so guessing the TRS cable you use is not gonna fly?
Actually just tried it into my phone and it works.... Mac doesnt seem to see it as an external microphone when plugged into jack input

Nice! Maybe I missed it but how do rig cameras? Like what type of stand would I need for an overhead angle and a direct forward angle?
So at the moment I don’t have a proper stand, I am using an empty vodka bottle to prop up my camera. But you can easily find a tripod on Amazon for both the views you mentioned!

And you said I should have a second computer for DJing and for the Twitch connection (because I do use the Traktor Pro 3 for DJing (my setup is a DJM700 + two CDJ-800mk2 + Audio6 soundcard (and would have also a Scarlett Focusrite 18i6, some friend said I have what it needs for a stream at home?)) I did see this pinned post about using an OBS (no f*ing idea what is that but I guess I'll find out after doing some more research :D)
And please talk to me like to a child when you are advising me, I am very bad with all technical things and I'm just learning everything on the go (like took me a a day or two to connect all my equipment with help from manuals and facebook friends when I got them a year ago)

If my mixer (Traktor Z2) has a built in sound card, do i still need to use Irig or any other similar device?
you will just need a cable from your mixer master OUT to the laptop youre streaming on. just make sure the 3.5mm jack end youre putting into your laptop is going to act as a MICROPHONE.

Yeah obs allows you to make your visuals look a bit more fancy

Why do you need a I rig? Why not just plug the booth output directly from your mixer to the microphone socket of your mac?

I’m not to sure now. Being live is fine. It’s more the saving your live stream

Nah it’s all good to play. But if you save the stream on your channel the songs might get muted
U forgot to mention that if we want to save the broadcast, we have to turn on that option. My set wasn’t saved cause u didn’t mention it. Now I have to redo my entire set.

So much misinformation in this video! OBS is not always required. Some DJ software can broadcast directly to Twitch and other platforms. Even if your DJ kit can't broadcast directly, OBS is not the only option. Connecting a TRS jack to a single output channel of your DJ mixer will only provide a mono signal to your computer. An iRig is a guitar interface - also the wrong thing to use, as guitars are mono.
