So here’s the deal: music labels usually take a huge cut from recording artists - we’re talking 70-85% of their earnings, plus a chunk from things like merch and tours. The reason for that? Labels put up a lot of cash to help artists record, promote, and tour. But for Twitch DJs, it’s a whole different story. DJs don’t get any financial help from labels-they’re paying for their own equipment, doing their own thing, and bringing their own audience. When they play songs, they’re actually giving those tracks extra exposure, which helps labels and artists by driving new listeners to the music. So, for labels to ask DJs for 30-50% of their earnings just feels off. DJs are already adding value just by playing the music and getting people into it. A better system would be for DJs to pay a smaller, fairer fee. Like, what if DJs could just pay a per-stream fee? So, they pay a set amount to access a whole music library for that stream. Another idea is a flat-rate subscription, where DJs pay monthly or yearly to use licensed music however they want. These options keep costs manageable for DJs and still give labels their share. So bottom line? DJs don’t rely on labels for support, so they shouldn’t have to hand over big cuts. Smaller fees make it fair for everyone-DJs can earn a living, and labels still get paid.
Can you multi-stream on Twitch and UA-cam my friend if you have a license on both platforms I hope you can talk to the CEO twitch give me give me an answer back please.
Twitch's focus on live streaming has often overshadowed the importance of VODs. However, our experience suggests that VODs can still attract significant viewership, especially when content is engaging. We had nearly 500k VOD views within 14 hours after interviewing the Twitch CEO. To grow your Twitch channel, focus on consistent scheduling, engaging content, community building, collaborations, and utilizing VODs effectively. Let us know what you're doing to grow your channel and maybe we can give some tips.
Did you guys have any pre communication with Twitch before this interview? Why is the whole original VOD gone from everywhere? Lastly, do you think your channel played a roll in speeding up the process of the new changes? Listening to this interview it was clear that the ego of dj streamers (VOD questions) was off putting to TC and after hearing how much we bring to the table financially I think the questions would have been different. Either way, say goodbye to half of your commercial/ throwback/ top40 or even remix djs on twitch that make any necessary income. Ironically TMT likely wont be affected by this.
This was a 1-hour and 30-minute live video, which included shout-outs and other live distractions. We condensed it to focus on the main questions. We have a new video coming this week with more detailed information from our in-person interview with the CEO at the 8.08 event in New York. Don't forget to hit the bell notification to be notified. Thank you so much for your support
Pimped how? Where else can DJs stream, grow a community (other than TikTok) and monetize? With UA-cam you can steam but once you play anything that has a copywrite you are automatically demonetized.
@@OOTOPOPUP The basics of Twitch monetization involve subscriptions (subs) and Bits, which are essentially donations from your community. While this is a good topic to discuss, it's important to note that this level of monetization often depends on building a strong community that feels your presence on the platform is valuable
Twitch deal with Sony and new Dj stream rules are dumb as!! Most of the rules make sense for Radio in the 1950's They do not make any sense in the DJ world!!

In the end the DJ's are getting pimped by the labels and the Purple Snake.

@@TweakMusicTips How do you monetize on Twitch as a DJ? Would've been good if he went into more detail on that.

i went nowhere on twitch.Iwas on for over a year with nearly no one watching so i am done with them
Did you network on the platform? Meaning, hang out in other streamers streams? Did you join discords or engage with other communities?
it is ironic this video meant to help djs stream is actually the death of most current djs on the platform
How long have you been streaming? Have you streamed as a DJ. Curious on this perspective.
