Worked perfectly - simple repair - saved at least $100!!!
Great video!! All I wanted to do was clean out bottom of tub, but this video made it easy to know how to take apart and put pack together the pieces I needed to remove to make access easy.
Great video.
Dishes on top were not getting cleaned.
I was able to disassemble/clean my dishwasher.
It is working great now.
Thanks.
Awesome! We're glad to help in any way we can.
We're happy the repair went well.
You would probably find the repair help section of our website helpful (link in the description of this video). If you enter your model number there you'll have access to part, model and symptom specific repair help. This will list everything you can check.
This is just the housing for the pump. The pump itself could cause this problem, but it also could be clogged or broken wash arm assemblies. If the pump sounds like it's running, check the wash arm assemblies.
Thanks for the video, it helped a lot, I think I'm like a lot of the other people, I just needed to take it apart to clean the filter but this helped me get to the filter surprisingly it was that first nut on the top that was throwing me. Thanks.
We're glad to help.
Awesome! Glad to help.
Thankyou. Exactly what I wanted to know.
This is exactly what I needed when I needed it! Thanks
Eric Levesque Awesome! We're glad it was helpful.
Unfortunately we can't offer repair help on UA-cam. I would suggest doing a search for the problem you're experiencing. Chances are other people have experienced this and can offer assistance.
Mine does not fill, I have cycled the power and no change. Must be the valve selenoid?
Great video, very helpful. I have however the problem that the 3 screws that attach the pump housing do not "grab" any hole underneath, no matter what I do. There just doesn't seem to be a receptacle underneath for them to attach to. Thus the screws are loose, not a good thing. I have pushed and pried, but cannot see the holes underneath they are supposed to go into, and cannot get them to match up no matter what I do. Have anyone else had this problem? Solution?
wjohnson925 It sounds like the plastic housing is stripped. You might need to put some small piece of plastic in the hole before the screw so it can cut into a new section of housing.
When my dishwasher is pumping out the water, it's making a vibrating noise. I took the discharge pump housing apart and found the plate that is attached to the bottom was not attached. I'm guessing the impeller is spinning against this causing it to move and vibrate. Any comment would be helpful. Thanks
What causes the heating element to collect mineral buildup and why does the diacharge water come out foamy, even when no soap has been added?
is this what causes the spin rod at the bottom to not spin or throw water?
After removing the 3 screws for the discharge pump housing, I still can't lift it off like in the video. It's loose and I can lift it about half an inch and turn it some, but something under it is catching on the housing preventing me from removing it ! Any idea's ?
I'm going to answer my own question hoping I will help someone else. My dishwasher was so gunked up with calcium deposits that the upper pump housing was "glued" to the lower pump housing with these deposits. To get it loose I removed the filter screen (looks like a 2 inch high fence going around the pump housing) first and then used a screw driver to pry the upper pump housing free from the lower.
Also want to give thanks for videos like this. It seems like no mater how many appliances I fix myself, it's never obvious how some of these things come apart the first time.
***** We're glad it worked and that you found our video to be helpful.
+William Evans I just had the same problem. For anyone else, pour a little white vinegar on it to loosen it a little.
I had a similar problem. My discharge pump housing (#6-905323) was absolutely fused to my suction plate (#912323) by lime deposits. I pried these two parts apart with a screwdriver.
