You can either break off the rest of the impeller so you can get to the motor shaft to hold it with pliers, or you can try turning off the power and go from underneath. Either stick a screwdriver in the cooling fan or if you have enough room try and get some vise grips or pliers on the motor shaft from underneath. Just be careful not to damage the motor.
There may be something else securing the housing depending on your model. If you do a Google search using your model number you should be able to bring up a diagram that will show you the housing. If there isn't anything else securing the housing you may need to just apply more force.
The filter housing cannot be taken apart and cleaned. If it is clogged up it will need to be replaced. Make sure the round filter under the housing is also clear. If you have hard water you will get a lot of white sediment on everything. If you do you can try and use Lime away or CLR to help remove it.
You may not need all of the o-rings. If your model is like this one you won't need them. If you performed the repair correctly and your dishwasher is still leaking I would suggest heading to the repair help section of our website (link in the description) and diagnosing your symptoms there.
If the filters are clean I would look for another problem. If you are not getting enough water in the bottom of the tub in the fill cycle you can try adding some more water in the bottom and run the dishwasher and see if it helps. If it sounds like it’s washing better you may try a new water valve.
I would suggest finding your dishwasher's model number. If you go to the repair help section of our website (link in the description) and click on "dishwasher" there is a model number look-up video on the right side of the page.
Unfortunately I am unsure. If you use your dishwasher's model number on our website, you'll get the correct seal.
Yes I ended up doing that and found the seals. Although I went ahead and siliconed it with some black rtv and now it's holding up great. Now when this silicone quits holding I'll have to buy the seal..
@MSPIWV1 Depending on the age of the machine, it may or may not have a check ball in the pump housing.
Is the filter dirty? Take it out of the dishwasher and inspect and clean it.
They replace the "drain impeller" WP6-903304 (sometimes called "plunger") and the seal below it 902882.
Some videos do not show the drain impeller because they do not remove the drain cover.
I hae a maytag dishwasher a lot like the one in the video, but mine doesn't have any of the check ball stuff so I assume it's an older model. I took mine apart just like in the video because of a drainage issue and I got it back together I fixed the drainage issue, but now it leaks water out the bottom onto the motor. I' guess when I took the seals out the probably needed to be replaced when I put it back together? If I do need to replace the seals where would I find the part # on this machine?
Are the bottom seals in the maytag jetclean dishwashers all the same. I typed in the dishwasher and it only comes up with one bottom shaft seal?
Hi, I got the repair kit today, but I can't remove the discharge pump housing. I removed the screws, but it is still really stuck on there. It moves back and forth but will only pull up about 1/2 inch. It seems like there's something else holding it on.
How do you get the impeller screw out after the impeller sheers off while trying to loosen the impeller screw? I was holding the impeller with one hand while trying to loosen the screw. The impeller broke before the screw broke loose. Now I need a way to keep the motor shaft from turning so I can loosen the impeller screw.
As I said, I can't see any dirt in the filter. It appears to be clean and a toothbrush from the outside didn't help. There is no access to the inside of the filter. Is it typical that my hard water could be clogging the screens and making them appear to be clean? How would I clean them without damaging the filter?
I have a question about the pump cover and filter assembly. Mine doesn't appear to let alot of water through. When I get water into it and tilt the assembly, it appears that the screens are clogged when there is visibly nothing in them. Is that how they are supposed to work?
