For the first time in history, it was the first video I clicked on and I found EXACTLY what I was looking for. Nice and clear instructions, done in the time it took me to watch this video. Thanks a ton. Saved me money and my sanity.
Thank you so much! There are so many videos that babble and don’t get to the point. I appreciate your expertise!
Surprised I found the exact dishwasher I was looking for. My washer is out dated and I thought I’m never gonna find a video of how to clean it. Quality video right here.
Thank you so much! my house was severely damage in Hurricane Ida. Now almost 2 years after we've moved back in and I was hoping beyond hope that my dishwasher had survived. Several months of trial and error, and then this video is what saved me! I appreciate this beyond words
Thanks so much, we're very happy it was helpful!
Thank you! I've just graduated high school and am home a lot. Our old dishwasher quite a long time ago and my mom said it just needed a deep cleaning, but neither one of us knew how to get to the things that needed cleaning. Now that I've seen this though I'm gonna spend probably a good few days, maybe a week cleaning it out. Mom never had the time before, it hasn't been cleaned in 30 years and now that I've got time and the know how I can do it! So thank you for this, it's a huge help❤.
you are THE MAN for this - very much saved us so much time and stress and our dishwasher cleans like it’s brand new again- thank you so much ❤️
Thank you for video that gets right to the point with very little talking just a walk-through. 👌🏻
How do I go further, like remove the center spray bearing and the thing underneath the twirly four-arm thing?
Thank you. You've explained very clearly. This will save me a lot of money next time my dishwasher needs work on its filters.
Thank you so much for this video!! My washer is like new!!! Filter was nasty and the arm would not turn.. you’re a life saver!
Excellent video! Dishwasher cleaning like a charm. Thank you!
This was easy to follow and saved me a lot of money! Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this. It helped a lot. It was my first time deep cleaning my dishwasher and the instructions helped a lot
Thank you! Weirdly my filter was super clean but a black mold ring had developed around the outside and following this video to take it apart and reassemble did the trick. Thanks again!
Thanks for taking the time to show this!
Thank you. My dishwasher needed this badly
Awesome video. Dishwasher runs like almost new. God Bless you
Thank you so much!! So easy to follow!
Wish I found this video before I started taking it apart. Took me forever to figure out that first step 😂
Thanks for the clear and complete video! Great help!
Thank you! I have this exact model and I was so scared of breaking something trying to get in there 😂
Very useful, nicely explained.
Thank you this was super helpful for cleaning.
thank you, very helpful.
Perfect instruction. Thank you!
I know nothing about dishwashers. I just inherited my mom's antique with her house when she passed. She didn't really use it, just mostly for storage. I like it though, and would like to maintain is as long as I can. Someone told me about a filter, and have been unable to locate it until now.. thanks so much for this video!! But can someone tell me why I would actually replace this cover rather than just clean the filter and put the cover back on?
Well presented. Clear and easy. Thank you for posting this video that may have cost you some repair work - but saved we homeowners.
I agree with those before me. Wonderful, informative video. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much - I think I can do it now!
Exactly what I needed
Super helpful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Yay thank you so much!!
Thank you so much..
Good job!
Great stuff
Lowest filter, is it the third, has a nut or bolt "frozen", won't turn. Need to remove it to get to the third filter, should I pour vinegar on it overnight? Thanks
My filter is full of slimy gunk and the part is discontinued, is there a way to get it apart so I can clean it?
My washer is smelly. I ran vinegar on an empty load. I'm hoping this takes care of the issue. If not I'll be taking the thing apart and cleaning out the filter. twenty years is a long time not cleaning the filter.
Just had repair man, my filter was dirty, he cleaned it & works like new
Should have done it myself
You are a live safer sir
Can you show us how to clean and maintain this dishwasher? And how often? The Maytag owners manual does not describe that. Thank you!
Followed this video to clean my filter in my dishwasher not hard at all
I'm doing it but my spray arm will not allow the retainer to stay in place
Where do I find the replacement cover I’m discarding?
Can't find this part it's discontinued. My dishwasher leaving black sandy grid on dishes help. I did a clean and with vinegar
Thank you for a clear, articulate presentation! Your dishwasher is exactly like my Maytag. What is that round object in the lower right front corner? Does that need to be cleaned? It has a screw on the back and I was unable to remove it. Thank you.
I believe that is an overflow drain in case there is too much water in the dishwasher, it keeps it from overflowing onto the floor.
That is a float valve, it shuts the water off when the washer is full. It also needs to be taken out and cleaned. Take the front panel off at the floor and there's a black clip at the midpoint of the shaft connected to the float. Take that clip off and pull the float up and clean inside. The gunk builds up inside and makes it too heavy to float to shut the water off then it will overflow and leak on the floor.
What kind of screwdriver do you use for this?
Why would the dishwasher have remaining suds (even when no detergent has been added) ? I have run it through numerous cycles. Without detergent, and still has suds.
I dropped a screw down when doing this and can't get it out. any tips?
Thx Su much! ;)
3:49 When trying to put the secondary filter plate back on, it would not sit flat for me, even though I put the locator tab where it was supposed to be. The little nozzles at the back under the locator tab seemed to not fit into the place they were supposed to go.
I finally got it in, by (1) cleaning out some gunk back there, and (2) seating the back of the filter plate first, with the front tipped up, to give the nozzles a different angle so they could connect.
Where is the primary filter. Our dishwasher is not draining
I can’t get off the plastic nut it’s fused
Hi
What is the, looks like valve or something on the left side to the front?
Do I clean that also....?
The float. It floats up to a certain place and then it shuts off the water. What I need to know is what the circular part is on the right, front....
Just make sure it moves freely up and down. Sometimes I hard water makes it stick.
Thanks!
This video just saved me an overpriced house call and possibly a new $800 machine!
I can't remove the retaining nut which holds my spray arm in place. I think all the dishwasher soap has caused it to become "glued" to the arm. What do you suggest to help facilitate loosening it so I can get the arm off, etc? I don't want to accidentally break it and have to order a new one if I don't have to.
I'm working on this too. Did you ever figure this out on yours?
@@robert12s Don't know if you've solved this yet, but I just did mine. I poured a little white vinegar around the large nut and let it set a few minutes. Then I used a rag to get a good grip on the nut. It slowly started turning. Very slow progress for a bit and then it came loose. Sure enough, it was caked with lime deposits. I'm on a well with hard water.
I just learned that I have to clean the dishwasher filter. I honestly don't think that the previous owner cleaned this thing... I'm a little scared of opening this
Isn't there a way to clean that filter instead of replacing it?
Anyone know what that front left part is and how to remove?
Just pull it up and it pops off the straight arm holding it on there. Trust me you'll want to clean this part.
Thank you,@@ajsgrl420! But do we know *what* it is?
What is model number on this dishwasher in video?????
Mine looks exactly like this and the model number is MDB5130AWW
My Maytag dishwasher stopped cleaning. It seems to run through the cycles but there is no water. I installed a new water supply valve but still no water. Not sure what to do now.
Stuck float? The thing on the left, front should freely move up and down. If it is stuck in the up position, the machine will run, but no water. Because the machine thinks there's water in the tub.
video is not uploading...just spinning. Other videos are loading fine.
you need to clean the filter on your uploader thingamabob
I know how to take the damn thing apart, I don’t know where to get a new one. Can anyone help me? I have had no luck on amazon or directly from Maytag or anything. Mine is disgusting and you can’t open them to clean it.
Put some soap into it and flush with hot water.
I can’t find a replacement either. Help?
Michael Sherrard tried that 😕. Doesn’t work.
Carolyn
run the filter through your dishwasher
The darn video wont load it keeps on spinning
