Nice Tips. Its basically unplayable at 1080p (let alone 4k, altho thats too rich 4 my blood) without the scaling, esp if youve been gaming since 768p was standard lol (which I do anyway as its better than getting reading glasses). Thats really cool to know about the external LOTRO, i was crashing after time trying to check a cloak price lol.
first of all thank you for supporting this beautiful game! it's the ppl like you that keep this BEAUTIFUL game alive !!! I hope that they fix the lag problem and implement new 4k ui...then i will come back...
you can scale things such as the toolbar but can you scale the size of the menus and the quest text? couldn't find that I'm on 4k so everything is too small
You can scale quest text, which I actually explain how to in a video I'm editing right now. It should be live on Monday, but for quest text it is on the quest turn in menu itself to increase the font. Everything else isn't really ideal because the res doesn't scale so everything is so pixelated even if its enlarged.
Very well delivered video! I only move and tweak positions of stuff myself, cause I am too lazy to change the buttons, but definitely some useful information!
I've researched this in detail, including asking other players and posting on forums. The sad truth is no you cannot. If you're playing on superwide monitor like me then you are forced to squint, and do your best to read the tiny text.
OK you said ask. I am old and my eyes are not what they used to be and since Lotro has no way to increase the size of the icons of items in my bags or crafting, is there a plugin for that?
Honestly not sure if there is a plug-in for it, but I'd say you're best bet of finding out is by going through the LOTRO Interface website for plug-ins and seeing if there is. I'm sure theres gotta be something that could help you there :)
@@aubreytheweirdone i have looked as best as I can that website is sort of hit or miss but nothing seems to be able to fix this issue. not even standing stones
Oh no! That sucks. Yeah I'm not aware of a way, but I'm sure you could contact Standing Stone support and directly too. I know it's something they need to approve upon so I'm not sure if they have an tips on how to work around it. Hopefully that's an idea :)@@harliquin76
Unfixable I'm afraid. I've looked into it in detail, asked other players, and asked on the forums but the consensus is that there's no method of changing the text size, and there are no plugins available.
@@lordsnot9540 it doesn't matter it seems standing stones has started to not even support this game. they might crank out a few more expansion but they already said they not willing to spend the money to fix the UI, and that probably means the lag as well.
It is literally in your description and yet you don't say much about Font Size, I can't read the Quest text very well. The only way I found is to Change resolution. Thanks
My game won't respond to Ctrl Backslash; is there a setting that needs to be unset in the menu so it lets me use it? As much as I love my Rune that bar is a pain in the seat where it is.
Make sure you are holding both Control and Backslash at the same time. This is the default keybind. If it is not working, try looking it up in your keybinds tab in the settings to see if it is something different.
Sadly for me even the max text size is waaay too small for my 48" monitor. That is really turning me off from playing the game since it has so much reading.

Right! Yeah terrible at anything above 1080p. Yes, my LOTRO Store crashes like that from time to time.

Aww thank you for the appreciation! I do what I can to help out the game.
Just one quick heads up, for UK keyboards the command to move interface elements is Ctrl+# not backslash.

Nice video! Just in case: on a German keyboard it would be CTRL+# to enter the modifying mode. Keep on creating this nice videos!
Thanks for sharing!
I'll add that for AZERTY keyboard ( french keyboard ), it's CTRL+* ( the key between "effacer" and "entrer" )
Thx for the video, is there a way to increase the menu text?

So is there any way to increase the soze of the menu or text? I can't read any of the quests beause it's too small.
Yes, when reading or accepting a quest there is a tiny font sizer on the bottom of the quest screen. You can increase and decrease text size that way.
@@aubreytheweirdone Thanks! I'll give it a go next time thanks!
is there a way so see your character's name and kinship with out having to reclick it everytime? that's all i wanna know
Yes, there’s a setting in the UI that says, show characters name (it’s a checkmark) it will permanently show both
I increased the size of UI elements, the bad thing is the text size in the UI does not increase

Try doing this:
Shift+Delete your 'Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online' folder
