    Hi Dave. I’ve had my ova 8 22ft hi mod for about 14 months and agree with what you’re saying. All except mine is now fit for the bin as all the end 9-10 inches have split right up through the gold tape and one section snapped completely just above the gold tape. I found that also because you have to fit the univalve really close to the bottom of the first section the ears on the o ring are busting the bottom of the pole up. I personally would have to think long and hard about buying another one. And 3 months in when section 2 snapped I was told by streamline to cut it off with a hacksaw and tape it to stop it from splitting (no offer to replace the section) which coming previously from a customer service/sales job I found unbelievable. I have a 3k facelift pole that I’ve had 3 years and that one is still almost as good as the day I got it but the ova is already finished after like a third of the time. I treat my poles with respect and clean/ptfe dry spray them all weekly or fortnightly just seems that the carbon is a bit flimsy on the ova.

    Great to see a long term test. I do like the end caps, wish Gardiners would change from a flat end cap to something that stops hose getting squished so much.

    Hi Dave a great review and definitely my next pole, i like you went over to a x4 jet set up this year (streamline)and its made a massive difference per clean/per window, to be honest ive not used much more water either but more work per day is getting done.
    Keep up the great work buddy and stay safe mate 😊🌈 Andrew.

    Just bought a 25footer, seems like a decent pole my 1st day out be on Monday. Anyway you might want to mention in your videos that a normal pole hose doesn't fit through the ova8 goose neck, not even the smaller pu hose from xline the anti kink one. I had too drill a bigger hole through the neck to make the hose go through 👍

    Hi all
    I bought one of these at the Coventry cleaning show. I hated it. I didn't like the brush it came with either, fitted a Gardiner brush instead. The clamps started coming loose on the pole, not rotating, just sliding of the pole like they weren't glued securely, tried to tighten on the pole end, didn't last. Difficult to extend and collapse, didn't slide very well, tried the usual dry spray. No success with making it easier. I ended up selling it on ebay and got a Gardiner SLX22, which I find much better.

      @squeakycleandave1  3 роки тому +1

      How long ago was it Gary. These are the Mark 2 clamps. Like I said I’ve been using it for 9 months and never had a problem with them
      I used a slx for years and think they are a fantastic pole but these feel more comfortable in the hand for me

      Hi Dave. I bought the pole September 2019 and used it for quite some time. But I was struggling with the issues mentioned. And annuver fing, the bottom bung thing kept coming loose and I'd find it half way down the pole hose, not attached to the pole. I caught a cold with an Ionics pole many years ago, the clamps kept snapping. They were good in sending out new ones, with glue. But wouldn't acknowledge there was a problem with them (until a sales guy at the cleaning show admitted it, years later). It's my work tool, if it's not right it has to go. I've been using Gardiner for some years now, as have my sons, with no reason to go back to them or get rid of a pole.

    Hi have a 22 HI mod ova 8, it is a nice pole but the bare pole does weight 200g more than advertised, so it weighs the same as a 22 SLX but £200 more which is a shame.

    • @squeakycleandave1
