    Hi Ash. I recently purchased this same pole from Varitech Systems over in Newton Abbot. Absolutely loving the quality of the pole. This is my first wfp and it has paid for itself within just a few days with jobs that I wouldn't have previously been able to do! Great advice from Ziggy at Varitech! Best way to stop movement in the sections is to take off the clamp levers and bolts and slice down the clamps on the inside were bolt gies through with a stanley knife.take 2-3mm off each side.then theres more space to tighten the bolt more thus makes the clamp smaller and stops that movement.done it on mine which is 18mnth old.doesnt move at all now!

      Just purchased ova8 from Ziggy. Firstly, I'm very impressed. Esp with the swivel head. I sprayed some ptfe spray as yes was stiff. But so pleased with it. I have Gardiner extrem poles as well, buy this feels totally different in a good way. Clips so nice to use. Weight is a heavier slightly but makes no difference. @@aemackintosh after checking it out I certainly can't grumble it is good! definitely has its advantages along with the pole clamps compared to the gardiner slx, the only draw back from what I can see is the design of the goose neck clamp, I find it awkward with only being able to clamp it in only 2 ways. I also like the twist lock on the jets it uses but it's draw back is that it doesn't have push fit design like gardiner so have ordered gardiner brush heads and jets to suit. The quick lock on the brush head fitting is a massive improvement compared to the gardiner tho. Apparently next month they're bringing out more attachments to makes use with unger tools and more but we'll have to wait and see with the lockdown. Definitely recommend it to anyone tho to make use along side with the gardiner. I hope its rigidity lasts when put to use daily.

    Hi Ashley great video mate, my only question is why have you got your valve right at the top near your brush head instead of at the end of the hose just before it connects to the microbore, if your working at height say 2/3/4 story you have to bring the pole down to turn the water off or if you disconnect from your microbore then the pole hose will empty out?

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 роки тому

      Alan Lillington Yeah, I know what you mean. It would get battered about down there and I don’t feel it would be that convenient there either. I mostly use this pole on low domestic work, so I find it works well like that. I must get a univalve for it instead though.😃👍🏼

    Can I ask a question?
    No offense intended at all, but is the quality of a WFP good enough for residential customers?
    I know a professional window cleaner and he feels that using his WFP on houses if cheap and nasty, and nothing is better than mop & squeegee. He said many of his customers dislike the cleaning a WFP pole delivers.
    I'm starting to do windows soon and I love the idea of not climbing ladders, but rather using a WFP...even on low level windows. What do you think?

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  3 роки тому

      WFP gets dirt out of places I could never get to using the traditional method, and windows cleaned using pure water will stay cleaner for longer since there is no tacky residue left that traditional soaps leave behind. So, sometimes it can be down to the user who doesn’t carry out the process effectively rather than the method itself.👍🏼

    Might sound a silly question but do these two just fit together. Iv just ordered the pole so I haven’t seen it yet. Do I need an adapter? The brush is giving me options, not sure what they are or how they fit, any help would be appreciated.

      The pole brand should have its own gooseneck option, then most of the time you can screw on a brush of your choice.

    Hi i find your chanel very intersting great content very informative quick question what video editing software would you suggest would be suitable for a newbie to start a channel im intersted in the subject any suggestions i would appreciate any advice you can give. What basic equipment would get a chanel started for someone whos intrested in getting more into the social media side of things for a bit of exposure any advice pal? Thanks.

      Simon Doherty I use iMovie for editing. It’s simple for a beginner, but there are some more advanced features to explore also. I started off with a very basic camera too. I’m using a GoPro Hero7 at the moment.😃👍🏼

      @@aemackintosh thanks for the fast reply mate yeah ive been looking into the video editing software and i always come back to imovie it gets the best reviews for newbies starting out i currently use a Samsung phone might just switch over to iphone or get an ipad to use the softaware would an ipad be powerful enough to put the software on imovie? Would it need to be an imac? Ive just looked at at the camera you use more cost affective than i thought sais the gopro hero 7 is water proof which is handy working outside thanks for the advice good to see someone who's willing to share tips. At some point id like to start a small chanel for a landscaping business im starting here in basingstoke hopefully get some more exposure just be happy to show case jobs i do to share on youtube and social media platforms maybe once im confident I'll try make more in depth content give tips and tricks on how i do jobs give a few tool reviews and so on. Your channel is amazing im not even a window cleaner and i can watch your videos all day long lol very well put together fantastic content and look extremely professional.
      Quick question i was looking into video editing software did you get your video graphic intro opener made specifically for you? outsource it? Can you get them on imovie just change the logo to your own so each video starts with your graphic logo? You can get them on a site called videohive but they didnt look suitable for my line of work looked more appropriate for intros to science fiction movies lol also wheres the best place to get copy right free music to put on videos like you do? Do you record sound with a mic seperately or does the go prohero 7 do the job all in one? Thanks for the help pal very interested in any advice you have hope the weather isnt to bad there today its terrible here!

      iMovie will have the most features available to you if you use it from an iMac. The sound on the GoPro is very good, but on a breezy day it will pick up a lot of background wind. You can use an external mic but you just have to buy an expensive adapter from GoPro. My logo intro came from an external website that does all kinds of video intros. You choose a template and upload your logo.😃👍🏼

    But i would like to try a swivel set up....help!!😊

    • @aemackintosh

      Tough choice really because I have my favourites for different tasks. The Ova8 is a great every day pole. I recommend the hi mod 22.😃👍🏼

    Hi Ash. I am to having the same trouble with the sections of my ova 8 pole moving laterally slightly. Like you said it is more noticable when the pole is collapsed. Do you know of any fix`s for this problem. I tried tightening the Allen bolts the other day but still no luck. Its doing my head in a bit now. Also do you rinse on the glass with that supreme dupont brush?

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 роки тому

      Alan Stonelake Unfortunately it’s a downside of the oval shape. As the sections wear it becomes more pronounced. They are working on a fix for it. It is possible to rinse on the glass but I usually rinse off the glass if I can.😃👍🏼

    Just looking at starting out, would you recommend using a 35ft pole for all of my pole work or should I have both a 35ft and 22ft so I'm not carrying the extra weight of the 35ft around when I'm just doing a standard 2 story house.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. It is possible that you could get the 35ft and remove a couple of sections when you are not going to need them.😉👍🏼
