Hearing little Micah speak Thai just melted my heart. I’ve been waiting since the announcement of him to hear and watch him grow with the unique life you’re providing. Like always, great content!
Mark, you appreciate even the smallest things in life. I love that about you. Keep doing what you are doing. You are making a lot of people happy! Stay safe and healthy! Lots of love from the Philippines!
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
There are people in Puerto Rico that choose to live like this, rustic life in the mountains and by the rivers. They wrap food in banana leaves for flavor, they also harvest wild root vegetables. Mark, you must visit someday!
What a wonderful lively Uncle, he rides the boat, he knows where to get the food, cooks so interestingly, even what a beautiful place and lifestyle he lives, he will live to be 100 and remain healthy and happy.
I love this video! I'm now vegan, so I'm really happy that you are making vegan content. Thank you Mark. I'm an old fan, that has missed your video's soooooooooooo much since becoming vegan... It's a real treat to see you, Ying and cute Micah. :)
I will never be able to travel to these places because I am an elder. You take me to those places with your show. I enjoy every trip you take. I can imagine the tastes through you. Keep up the good work ,love your show.
I love that you take Mika everywhere you go. I love that he is learning so much being out with his parents. But I was wondering about his schooling. Is he homeschooled? Or is he still not of age to attend school? Either way, you are doing a fabulous job teaching him about the world!
At risk of being the antagonist of what should be deemed the obvious: Micah has learned more being with his parents/grandparents and interacting with different races/cultures than formal schooling could ever teach him in the same amount of time. Be well and have fun at school Micah!
Hi Mark. Thank you for doing videos on plant-based food! I have been eating plant-based for a couple months now and I've never felt better!! love all your videos of course but so excited to see more videos on plant-based food!!
Everything from the boat ride to the harvesting to finally the cooking and what the food must of smelled and tasted like was very interesting to me. Thank you for sharing yet again another great experience Mark
I enjoy all your channels but the videos I enjoy most are the ones where you give us a glimpse of life off the beaten path (literally). In a strange way, with the pandemic limiting travel, it allowed you to uncover these places even more than before. Joel does a great job of this as well. Some people see the wonder of the differences between people/culture but what I see is that, in fact, we are all very much the same. "Keep on keepin' on".
I've just subscribed to your plant based channel. Big On Spice... Big On Smiles! I'm so happy that you have started this Mark. Thank you! I'll look forward to all your plant based content.
What ever this uncle have , with that he gave u simple food, but very unique and rich hospitality , he is really rich from heart , one of the best vlog mark , i love this kind of people , down to earth ,,,,,,,,
This meal looked so wholesome and nutritious! Turmeric and black pepper are the perfect pair for healing benefits. I love the clarity in the Uncles' speech. He is very knowledgeable. The captions make this much more informal, fun, and inclusive. More of that please! I love seeing you and the family going on new ventures, it's so exciting!
14:41 that quick stir fry vegetables lightly seasoned and it is still retain some snap, if you can hear it lol u know what I mean. Also 16:46...I didnt think I could crave vegetables until he reminded me there's more to vegetables than what you get in restaurants in the states lol.
Awesome...What a Tempting Video of Veg-Food...I loved this Green Food Presentation of Yours Dear Mark..I Render my Heartfelt Gratitude to the Uncle Who showed so much of Love and deep Hospitality ++++++
Oh man !! That’s look like so much fun to harvesting in a boat like that. I used to jump in to the swamp and harvesting it. I enjoyed it so much though when I was younger. God bless y’all guys. 👏😍
Thank you Mark, Ying and cute Micah. Thank you for the awesome video. I love it when Ying interact with you and the Chef. Stay safe and take care to everyone 😍
The rice is really interesting because black pepper enables the absorption of turmeric (curcumin) for anti-inflammatory/disease fighting properties. It's medicinal :)
Where i'm from (northeast India) we consider those pink and purple ones as lily and we eat them in salads or just raw with a pinch of salt and chilly flakes
Man, I've got to stop watching your channel right before bed. I'm not vegetarian but even that had me salivating. And how easy to throw in some chicken or other meat? Almost as exciting, I knew what aroi makh meant. Baby steps in learning thai!
Hi Mark! I love all your videos, especially this channel. Big on Spice! Cus these are the kinds of spice levels I love! I have a question, just curious, do you think Korean cuisine are spicy?
This is the way of rural Thai society where each month costs no more than 100 usd. They originally made a fishing career in Songkhla Lake. And farming around this lake plain. This is the saying In the water there are fish, in the rice fields of Thailand.
Uncle needs his own channel. He is very informative!

Thank you so much. Actually he just started school in January of this year. So going forward we plan to take big trips during his school breaks.
At risk of being the antagonist of what should be deemed the obvious: Micah has learned more being with his parents/grandparents and interacting with different races/cultures than formal schooling could ever teach him in the same amount of time. Be well and have fun at school Micah!
