Thale Noi (ทะเลน้อย) - Welcome to Phatthalung, Thailand, one of the most relaxing provinces in Thailand. People are cool, food is delicious, and there’s some spectacular off the beaten path things to do. Part of the reason why Phatthalung is a lesser visited province in Southern Thailand is because they don’t have an ocean coastline like most other Southern Thai provinces. However, they do have a huge lake - one of them being Thale Noi (ทะเลน้อย). Today we’re going on a boat tour of Thale Noi, and then I’ll give you a tour of our homestay, plus we’ll have a quick local Thai food dinner at the house.
Thale Noi tour - you’ll want to arrive between 6 - 7 am because in the morning is when you’ll see the pink and white lotus in full bloom. The lake is spectacular, so peaceful and calming, and so beautiful wich so much vegetation. Highlight recommended. Price - 450 THB ($15.07) per hour
During out time at in Phatthalung at Thale Noi (ทะเลน้อย), we stayed at Uncle Sanan Homestay (โฮมสเตย์ ลุงสนั่น). He’s quite a character and his house is traditional, old, made of wood, and full of antiques. Him and his wife are also great local cooks who cook Southern Thai food. Recommended for a night or two if you really want to learn about the Southern Thai food and culture of Phatthalung along the lake.
And so that wraps up this tour in Phatthalung. An amazing day and spectacular place - a really off the beaten path, unseen Thailand attraction.

I remember my trip to Phatthalung back in 2015. We drove from KL, Malaysia to Hatyai, Thailand (about 8 hours). Then drove from Hatyai to Phatthalung (about 2 hours). We stayed in Sri Pakpra Resort. My friends and I were the only foreigners at that resort. The hotel manager told us too that not many foreigners come to Phatthalung as there is nothing much to do 😅At this resort is where we can see the unique style of fishing - giant fish nets/rods. We took the same boat ride at this lake as well to see the lotus lake. It's really beautiful. I won't forget that roadtrip, I wish to go back again Phatthalung again!

This is the first I’m hearing of a phobia of something with a lot of holes. Interesting. I’m sure there is a phobia for just about everything. I can’t watch him eating gooey animal skin or fat.

I did this a year ago. it was incredible! I took the wooden boat too. They take you out on the lake and then take you to a location away from other tourists, stop the boat and the driver let’s you just meditate and take it all In (endless beauty of a lake filled with lotuses). Highly recommend, but keep in mind it’s seasonal and best to go early morning when the lotuses are just awakening and open up and the sun rising. Love Thailand and many of the people!

I love everything, uncle is very unique character, and a fixer 🚽🤣 - very humble. Remembered living in kind of place but is where more fun you have the most, climbing trees, and going tree to tree just like a little 🐒, eating the fruit in season. This trip brought me to so many memories.

Love the lotus lake with wildlife it’s stunning I would take so many macro shots of the lotus flower!
That is not lotus. Lotus grows on mud. That is a water lily. Lotus are more exotic. Common in Buddhist countries though. Lotus is 300 times more beautiful than a water lily. And I’m crazy about flowers.
