I love when Luda said huh loudly @ 0:31, lol. No one can say huh better than Luda. 1 of my favorite scenes by 1 of my favorite rappers. I also love when Terrace Howard was assertive by confronting Luda when he ignored him @ 0:23. God Bless.
ShadoeFax it seems like they put a lot of effort into studying the Memphis lingo. Didn’t quite nail the accents but it’s hard to do if you ain’t from here bc to them, we all just sound country 😂😂😂
Wallace Thompson yeah i totally agree but i wouldn’t change the casting for anything. I’m from East Arkansas, and I moved to West Memphis in 2005, so their influence is DEFINITELY heavy over here. Thank you for appreciating our culture too ❤️
@@PynkVelVet I never even thought about that man that's crazy, I figured that was just how he talked I didn't take into account that they were going for Memphis accents and lingo lol good to know that they somewhat got it right coming from someone who is from the area.

Had to get his nerve back up. Couldn’t imagine getting dissed like that, especially as a man. Respect to Djay bc i wouldn’t have the balls to try again.
Why shouldn't he have confronted him? To me, that one was the point of the whole movie: when a golden opportunity presents itself, you must take it. And let nothing stand in the way of your hustle. The fact is many people worship these celebrities (or rappers in this case) like they're gods and they're just regular cat like any other dude in Memphis. What was gangsta about DJ is he played on Skinny's ego and pride to make him understand his objective...
@@elijahstraight402 i don’t recall anyone saying that he shouldn’t have confronted him. At all lmao. I do agree with your standpoint tho, that was my main takeaway too. All i was saying was that it takes a lot of guts to keep stepping to somebody who’s blatantly disrespecting you in front of his homies. That’s all.
@@PynkVelVet Well, I have no disagreement with your assessment at all Sis. Just piggybacking off the point you made. Sorry if my words appeared as a misinterpretation of what you were conveying
In real life, if someone’s mad at you, they’re not gonna sit there and listen to an entire monologue about how one day everything is gonna turn to dust and how people are gonna dig it up, etc. This scene is the equivalent of the villains sitting there and patiently waiting for the power rangers to finish their whole Morphin time routine.
The mindset switched after that first hit of the new cigarette 🤔 ( that mood of damn all this here. Enough of this bullshit. Let's get to the nitty gritty, but "I'ma be respectful to the best of my abilities though bra" ) 🙂
The answer is he's not hungry anymore. Look at Pewdiepie and many other people who have made it. They become complacent. They made it, they don't need to work anymore. It's the natural evolution of things.

In the end I think it backfired on him, because skinny knows deep down he really has become a sell out, and this man sees it
