TY Betty for showing clear and the white, you are so funny what a mess you made lol, I wish my messes were more like yours, I'll have baby powder on me the pup, and the floor before I get it in the bowl but we'll smell good doing it! I hope this works for priming my wood panel, if you have another suggestion pls share it with me.
I find it easier if you add the liquid to the pot first then slowly add in your calcium carbonate/talc while mixing and you can NOT mix enough/over mix.
I thank you for the mistakes, it teaches us how to perpare and teach us if we make a mistake we can fix it and keep going. I truly appreciate your video. LOL, use better spoons😊
I have not tried the recipe, but I would suspect the cornstarch would leave a haze. I have pumice in my studio, which is what I will use when I make clear gesso.
Gesso is used as a primer for your canvas so the paint doesn't soak up in the canvas. That's what it is used for, not the reason Betty gives. Sorry Betty.
As a senior on a low income I really appreciate you sharing this!!! Thanks so much!
You've gotta love cornstarch/cornflour, not only does it make cheap gesso, it also makes delicious cheese and chive sauce! :)
Use a little rubber spatula to mix and put in containers, you will not waste any if it. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the video. It was great and gave me a chance to smile at the mess❤❤❤❤
I love all the little tips you give. Saving money, always a good thing!
Thank you Betty. I have been putting off buying gesso because of the cost. Now I can make it myself for a fraction of the cost.

Love this idea - using different paint colors - wow - lots of options. Thanks Betty!
19:29 I bought some cheapish bamboo spoons; not so bendy. A year later, and everything is even more expensive, so thanks for this gesso recipe 🙂
Making messes is part of the fun
Thank you so much Betty for this video so so helpful.
Thank you very much Betty for your excellent tutorial on the gesso. 🤗
FYI - I found a quart (32 oz) of gesso at Jerry's Arterama for $15.

I will give that a try! Thank you!
thanks for sharing, I just purchased some from Amazon, now I know!
You can usually unscrew the whole shaker top off of the powder and just pour it.
I’m all about saving money! This is great!
I have to save money anywhere that I can right now.

Hello Betty, thanks for sharing.
Cool idea to save a little money.
Thank you for sharing 💕🙏🏼🌷
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it. I'll be trying it for sure.
Thanks for sharing.
You great thanks 😊
I've never made or used Gesso. When would you use clear Gesso? I'm new to junk journaling so I don't know.
I have heard of Gesso, but never used it. What is it actually used for??? What is its purpose?
Thanks for great tip! I am a "newbie", so what is the point of using clear gesso? 🤔☺️
clear gesso is basically a sealer for your projects - good for collage master boards.
You can take off the top of the baby powder. You won’t get it all over lol!!
What do you gesso on
I use gesso when I need to make a shiny surface more matte or if I need to cover up certain areas.
Anyone tried this recipe..does the clear gesso really go clear when dry or misty?

I couldn't watch your "talking" hands!!!!
