I agree we must be mindful that vegan doesn't automatically mean healthy. I'm getting ready to try this tonight on my salad. 😊
I agree, and having seasonings and sauces you enjoy can transform simple healthy meals into something special!
@@VeganPetite yes, I'm enjoying it for the most part, the biggest thing I miss occassionally occasionally crunchy food so I'm trying to find a few recipes that I can prepare ahead to substitute for crackers, chops, etc. Otherwise I am enjoying my healthy new diet. 😊
I just mixed up 1/2 a batch to try it- really tasty! Thanks!
You're most welcome! Glad you liked it!
This is actually fabulous. Thank you!
I'm glad you liked it! 😊
WOW - just made this and it's shockingly delicious for how simple it was to put together! Thank You for sharing this recipe - Can't wait to put it on pasta later.
Thank you! Enjoy with your pasta!! 😋
I can’t wait to try it! My store bought vegan parmesan is almost gone and I won’t be buying it again due to the saturated fat content.
Yay let me know how it turns out!

I really like it
I just made this and it's awesome 👌 thank you from Australia 😊
Thank you for sharing!! Hi from California :)
Thank you for the recipe.
Most welcome 😊
Amazing, I already did vegan parmesan with all these ingredients (except onion powder) but took me a whole process: I soaked the almonds, peeled them, dried and heated them in the oven and blended them to do what you basically did in the video to put everything together 😆This is a whole improvement and will save me much time and effort! 😁
Also instead of garlic powder I like to use granulated garlic for a better texture, it gives it a tad of crunchiness 👌
Oh my, I admire your dedication! I used to just use regular almonds with the skins on, resulting in brown specks; not the prettiest. This is a time-saver for sure, and I do like this with granulated garlic, too!
really good. thank you. yes the onion gives it an extra punch
Yes it does! Glad you enjoyed it ☺
It is delicious. I loved it.
Yay I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Nice savory crumble
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
I do this and it is delicious!😊
It really is!
Looks great! As I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the estrogen and possible BLV in dairy this is awesome. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
I've been trying to reduce my cheese intake. I'm allergic to cashews so I've been on the hunt for a recipe that does not include them. I was skeptical but gave this recipe a try. This is really tasty! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! 😀
I usually use cashew nuts but im definitely gonna try this. Thanks
You're welcome, let me know how it goes!
Indian stores or online you can find cashew flour. It’s used for an Indian candy.
Thank you for the recipe. Super easy and a nice compliment to my salad. I've been eating a vegan diet for 2 months now and needed a pick me up for my salad. This is it. I was skeptical about adding the garlic powder so I left it out, but I like the flavor without it. At some point I'll add try it with the garlic powder.
You're most welcome, that sounds wonderful on a salad! 🥗😋 And congrats on eating a vegan diet for 2 months; you got this!
@@VeganPetite thank you for cheering me on. I t wascan easy transition and I plan to continue eating as healthy as possible.
Nice! I can't eat almonds but I'm going to try it with chickpea flour and maybe buckwheat flour.
Let me know how it goes! Another viewer said they use ground sesame seeds and that it works great

100%!! 😃
It came out good, very tasty. It's not quite parmesan though.
Thanks for trying and letting me know!
added dry ranch dill parsley diy mix to this coated sweet potato medallions with evoo oil in a produce bag then shaked along with dry parm powder mixture next and baked on a cookie sheet, covered with parchment paper 40 min at 375, addicted. I meal prep this now often.
Wow that sounds phenomenal!! I can't seem to get sweet potatoes to be crispy, but maybe I needed to cook them longer instead of at a higher temperature?
low broil with a close eye on them for the final desired crispness after fully cooked
I did subscribe- oh yeah!
Thank you!!
Liked, subscribed and rang the bell.
Welcome! ☺
👍👍👍
❤
I usually use cashews, but I will try this ripe with chickpeas flour. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
I've never tried with chickpea flour, let me know if you try it!
often flours are raw. Beans/bean flours shouldn't be ingested raw. just incase. =)
Boa noite Paulo cabo Pe recife Pe Brasil
Obrigado! Boa noite!
I use the eastern culture's method they have used for centuries to ground sesame seeds and salt...works great! That recipe is good but I can't do the yeast.
Ooh I hadn't heard of that method, sounds tasty! Thanks for sharing :)
Hello does this taste parm cheese if you put this in the oven on pizza?
Hello! This goes great on pizza, just had some yesterday!
@@VeganPetite Awesome! Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Does it taste as good as using raw cashews ground up in place of almond flour?
Yes, you can absolutely use ground raw cashews!
I think cashew flour taste better then almond flour because most vegan people used cashews for the cheese.
Cashew flour would be great! I've never seen it in my local stores
Looking at the ingredients, I can't imagine this tastes much like parmesan. Nutch ain't that cheesy. How about adding some vegan lactic acid?
I hadn't thought of that! May need to give that a try
@@VeganPetite We also discovered by chance that black walnuts taste like blue cheese! A real hassle to shell though. We've not found any shelled suppliers yet. Could maybe add a funky tang.
Whoa, I hadn't heard of black walnuts before! I found these shelled ones on Amazon, curious to try, amzn.to/3u6OBqn
When I first started using Nutch I didn’t think it was that Chelsey either. Realized I was being reserved in the amount. I started using a little more and have been impressed.
@covingtoncreekathome same! I think the kind of seasonings you combine the nutch with also makes a difference.
Very high in oxalates though!
Many plant foods (eg spinach, beets, etc) contain oxalates, and for most the benefits outweigh the risks. However, for those prone to kidney stones, your doctor may recommend a low-oxalate diet.
Blanched almonds have much fewer of the Anti-nutrient called Oxalates. However, most of those baddies are in the husk/skin of the nut.
Recommendation: Choose flour made from Blanched Almonds.
(Actually, the whole ground almond is called "meal.")
Nutritional Yeast gives me a migraine and it also triggers thrush (yeast infection in mouth.) nobody else i know has this reaction. 😮
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! Definitely leave out the nutritional yeast in that case. It will taste different, but you could maybe use a little extra garlic powder and still have a nice topping for pizzas, pastas, soups etc.
@@VeganPetite thank you for the reply! I think the almond flour is brilliant, so i can definitely modify those items into and out of!!
Yeast extract gives me migraines...another reason to avoid junk foods. I've been using nutritional yeast for a year now, so far no problems. Sorry to hear it gets you sick !
Been making this for years, minus the salt. Tried real parmesean a couple of days ago and found it overly salty and had more smell than taste. Will continue to stick to this
Thanks for sharing! ☺
I don't think nutritional yeast tastes like cheese at all. I bought a bag once, ended up throwing it out. It was so gross.
It's an acquired taste. I agree it's not very cheesy on its own; it is best combined with other seasonings.
I learned from a friend who used to give me of tips about vegan cheese, this very recipe but here comes the tip: first, almond flours needs to be very fresh and not rancid, so its something to pay attention. Second: when you buy yiur nutricional yeast, make sure if its gluten free. Why? Bcs it will change the way it was fermented during it's preparation to become yeast and as a result you get a different taste from it. Also, she told me to buy the light yellow and not the darker ones and the powder ones are better taste than the granulated ones. It works for me. When I cant find it in powder I just use a blender and turn it into powder. I hope this msg can help
@@mariaizabelmelo8766Ah man, nooch has gluten? Thanks for saying something... I don't have a problem, but my friend dies I just found out. It's amazing where gluten can hide!
Brašno od badema je u Hrvatskoj skupo! Vise od 10 eura!😢
English: Oh no, that is expensive! 😱 Do not worry; this recipe can also be made using whole nuts, such as almonds, cashews, pecans, or even walnuts. You will just need to pulse them in a food processor or blender until it makes a coarse flour-like texture, then mix with the remaining ingredients. Be careful not to process the nuts too long, as they may turn into a nut butter.
--
In England it's nearer to 30.
LOL. cheese comes from mammal dairy so....
Yes and this one uses no animal secretions
That’s not cheese. Whatever it is it’s barely edible. God, vegan food is foul.
Thank you for commenting and promoting this video and my channel. I really appreciate it.
I usually use cashews. Perhaps you would like this recipe: 1 cup roasted & salted cashews, 1/2 cup nutritional yeast (for cheesy flavor), 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp garlic salt. Process in food processor until crumbly. It is delicious!
Someone who eats animal asscheeks for breakfast has no business calling food foul.
Ooh I've tried with raw cashews, but not roasted! That sounds fabulous!
Kindly, don’t smack your lips and tongue when eating/tasting your food. The wet smacking sound is awful. It makes people’s ears bleed. Constructive criticism, no shade.
Thank you for your feedback.
You said, "Thank you for taking the time out of your day to teach us this useful recipe." - incorrectly.
I’ve been making the blender version for years - why didn’t I think of using almond flour instead of almonds? The blender never pulverizes all the almonds, so there are always little chunks. Not a deal-breaker, but this is so much simpler. I use it on popcorn (can’t imagine popcorn without it!!). My recipe doesn’t use onion powder but I’m willing to give it a try. And the nutritional yeast @PsychedlicGoo makes it taste good. Striving to reproduce the exact taste and texture of meat/dairy/egg-based foods will get you lots of chemicals and generally less nutrition. A certain cheese substitute readily available in grocery stores tastes a lot like cheese and slices and melts like cheese. It has a lot of calories, fats (although some of them may be indigestible) and plant starches. No protein, vitamins or minerals.
Years ago I lived in California and we all ate Monterey Jack cheese. Then I moved to New York, and Monterey Jack wasn’t available (this must have been before refrigerated rail cars? haha) but marvelous sharp cheddar and something new: Jarlsberg. So instead of moaning over the lack of my favorite California cheese, I learned to love what was available. Becoming vegan, I embraced the same mindset. Don’t waste your health trying to replicate animal products, eat plants and avoid stuff made in a factory. (That said, I miss barbecued ribs … but it’s really just the sauce, not the meat.) Last observation: Impossible Burgers taste and look just like the things they used to serve in my high school cafeteria: sad, gray tasteless things. Must be a moral there somewhere.
Thank you for your insight; that is a great mindset to have for anyone going vegan! And yes, the little chunks of almonds when I used to make this in the blender would drive me crazy; I could never get it perfect until I switched to almond flour :)
I just use plain nooch on my popcorn, with a little salt if needed. It tastes great! It has to be the powdered nutritional yeast, not the flakes. WFM has it.
Bloom where you are planted.
fantastic texture and taste!!!
