At least they update it. After patch 1.5 the series x port is playable. There is slowdowns in the densely populated places but it is nothing major. First time playing through, but I bought it at launch. Did not refund.
True, even with all the patches after 1 or two years the game is still not even NEAR to what was promised. The game is now just good enough to justify buying it but other then that, it's still a slightly above average game. A shadow to what was promised. I rather play RDR2 or GOT then this.
The logic behind this is most people do not finish witcher 3 story. So they cut content so everyone could finish the cyberpunk 2077 main story. this is why Developer should not follow steam statistic to research a game. Dev should think how it will be received by game reviewer instead, since it will drive more positive review..

@@Azumgi The problem with the 'didn't have time' arguement is that they had years, at least 5 they worked on this game, not taking the aparent 8 since annoucment since Witcher 3 was in works. Now yes its clear it needed a year of polish, but its sure more cut than it didn't have time.
With the exception of the graphics and the city design, the game shines only in the story and music department (not even those are actually _that_ breathtaking though, just really good, but that's the kind of quality I'd expect from any AAA publisher), with all the other elements being okay at best and downright twenty years behind at worst. "March" *LMAO* That's a *very generous* estimate to fix all the bugs this game has, not to mention to re-implement the shitload of missing features and promises they boasted about.
I adopted "I will buy when its ready". If there's outrage like this about a game I want to buy I wait 6 months-2 years till most of the bugs are fixed so I'm not giving money for shitty products and half the time it's on sale for a bunch by then.
One thing that i find rather astounding, is the ZERO character customization outside of the CC, like wt-actual-F. Not even getting upgrades or cyber gear changes your appearance.
I was super stoked for the cutscenes when you get your cyberware (which the devs talked about for ages). Then you buy Mantis Blades and it's literally like you ordered a pack of noodles, no animation at all!
Yep but it's a harsh lesson, no matter the company, once money starts being an issue, the game releases, no matter the state its in. It's ofc terrible that Cdpr had to follow on from Fallout76 being the other.
@@ZeonEons Maybe the result of the company being now a public one (owned by shared holders) since 2018? I'm guessing the main reason they didn't push back the release of the game is because if the game released in 2021 instead of 2020, they would have been forced to offer the possibility to refund the game (because the engagement of the preorder is tightened to the game being released in 2020. They would have broken that.), and I believe they had at that point 8 millions of preorders, they didn't want to take that risk and choose the no man sky strategy (which paid off in the end.) to release an unfinished game and ask for forgiveness afterward. Now they have the money (they made already at least 100% of profits), so you could say they did the right call. But they lost their credibility, so...was it worth it? In the short term, yes. But in long term? My answer would be : When companies are public, long term doesn't exist anymore, share holders just want short term revenue, they rip as much revenue as they can and if it smells funny they move their money elsewhere. They don't want a company to take long terme decisions to preserve its longevity at the cost of profits, they prefer to let the company die as long as they get maximum money in the meantime, because they can place their money into a more profitable company at anytime.
@@anonymeforliberty4387 I think in the long term, this does more harm than good. Short term profits (pre-orders) and on day purchases through physical & digital. Roughly 13-14mill copies sold. Not sure on how many refunds were issued but they did state they lost the Christmas sales market by a wide margin of projected sales.
@@ZeonEons i mean imo at least the game got the story right, it needs to mainly focus on technical issues. Fallout 76 needed to rebuild an entirely new story , and even with the new fallout 76 singleplayer dlc its still above average

I doubt any of the bugs will ever get fixed as CDPR know full well that they have plenty of apologists and simps like Yongyea who will defend them at all times. It's been ages and they STILL haven't stopped the NPC's being ghosts that u can walk thru, the insanely bad levels of texture pop-in, ability to b able to buy a better apartment than the shitty place u get the whole game, oh but don't worry, CDPR were so very generous and gave us an alternative look for Johnny, two jackets and another car to buy. Didn’t the fact that cd project red wouldn’t let people show their own footage show that something was wrong? Assassins creed Valhalla had gameplay out months before release.
Yup. Reviewers weren't allowed to show their own footage, nor did they handout any console review codes until a day before release. At least they update it. After patch 1.5 the series x port is playable. There is slowdowns in the densely populated places but it is nothing major. First time playing through, but I bought it at launch. Did not refund.
I'd say on the current patch it's a very good game. However it took them a year and 9 months just to get to the point where the game is worth playing.
True, even with all the patches after 1 or two years the game is still not even NEAR to what was promised. The game is now just good enough to justify buying it but other then that, it's still a slightly above average game. A shadow to what was promised. I rather play RDR2 or GOT then this.
Too much damn cut content, I wanted to experience the Merc quests with Jackie, not go through a 6 month montage in a minute time skip.
The logic behind this is most people do not finish witcher 3 story.

@@negrura121302 I may have missed something but what did Rockstar do to lose their reputation?
@FERMIN DEL ANGEL CARRILLO CHAVEZ I mean I can somewhat agree. I still feel like having all their updates for GTA Online be free pretty decent and they haven’t really lost their reputation as most people still like them. Most people are annoyed their still updating GTA Online instead of working on a new GTA but that isn’t really Rockstar’s fault. It’s more Take Two’s since they aren’t allowing Rockstar to abandon GTA Online thanks to shark cards. But yeah I agree their online games have gone quite far and stale but I don’t feel they’ve lost their reputation since most people still like them.
For a company who put so much love and attention to detail into Witcher 3 I was expecting so much especially loving anything cyberpunk. But instead they rushed it out so far away from being ready. Could have been a game for the ages.
