This woman is 5’3” I’m happy to see different height representation 🤣🤣🤣🤣 usually the ppl on these are tall. And I’m happy to see oversized style on a short person. As well as well tailored pants on a short person. Ugh. So good. This has been my favorite.
I wear baggy clothes all the time and Im 5'5. I dont get why short girls think baggy clothes dont suit them. My friend is about her height and she is convinced everything baggy looks bad on her she only wears slim jeans etc.
WOW! I’d have thought she was much taller. I’d always assumed baggy emphasized shortness by creating a wider line, but she’s doing sorcery with her silhouette!
I love the way she does oversized. The obvious way to do it is to pair it with a skin tight piece to define the body, but she does not. Yet she still picks pieces that have enough shape or weight in terms of color to define the body a bit. Also amazing to see one of these with Dries van Noten popping in. Such an under-rated designer.

I had a phase of wearing clothing 2+ sizes too big in middle and high school because of my horrible body insecurities and sensory issues. Other kids' parents would essentially tell my mom she was a bad parent for letting me dress like a homeless person. (I'm in a much better place now. I prefer showing off my waist while wearing relaxed fits. The exception is my pencil skirt that fits perfectly and makes me feel HOT.) It is wonderful to see her genuinely enjoy experimenting with masculine cuts and oversized silhouettes. She does it so well. She is one of the best in this series so far.
So much enjoyment out of this 7day video. Love the 2nd hand aspect, also baggy clothes that still are fitting properly. Being vertically challenged as I am, I hate when pants are too long, ruins the line you're going for with your look. Love love how her pants were perfect with length and bagginess.. Chef's kiss to all her looks.
Love seeing Asian style/take on style featured - we definitely (generally) away from heavy logos and the fabric content, texture, and layering fabrics are part of traditional Asian clothing.
The best look IMO was the grey dress with the pinstripe skirt and the versatile brown jacket. That was an overall really unique look and versatile and fashion forward. The black dress look was pretty good but just made me think of the 90s
Great reaction video. I saw a comment about this not being for the male gaze, but weirdly, many (not all) men in Japan often actively dislike tight and revealing fashion IRL, preferring conservative looks like long skirts or modest blouse, saying that they "don't know where to direct their gaze" if a woman is dressed in a tight short mini or a low-cut top. Of course a lot of Japanese women fully know this and wear revealing clothes anyway to thumb their nose at convention, but it's interesting the geographic difference of what genders want. Loose fits look stylish, modest and seem to please both genders there.
I'm totally dying for the Hermes Margiela two piece. Color and length is perfect. Its one of a kind ... but if I could find a wool dress and wrap skirt with similar fabric, could I DIY it?
My thought too. That over wrap skirt looks like a pair of men's trousers with no inseam. I feel like that would be an easy place to begin a DIY of that look. You could make the shift out of the rest of the pants and a matching oversized blazer. Would take a lot of piecing though and you wouldn't get that effect of that blank wall of fabric of the plain sheath...
@@cinemaocd1752 I found it to really mirror 1920's flapper fashion (The actual fashion, not the botched Hollywood look). The silhouette especially. What a nice modern take.

velvet can be made of synthetics, actually! velour is a STRETCH velvet, which is why it's usually made of synthetics, but velvet can be made of cotton, silk, rayon, polyester, and blends of those. you mentioned wool vs jersey before-wool is a fiber, jersey is a weave type. if you want to learn some cool fiber applications, check out nicole rudolph's series on natural fibers. (the synthetic fiber videos are in the works, i believe!) before her, i didn't know that wool could be made into a satin weave!
something interesting: When I visited japan a few years ago, I asked my friend (who was my age around 19 y/o) to bring me to uniqlo so I could shop for some clothes. He looked at me weird then giggled. He said "Uniqlo is for grandma's and grandpa's" he said it was cause it's affordable, cheap, and plain. Apparantly, young people shopped at a store called GU. I think it's like a Liberty vs. Biba moment but Japanese and cheaper(?) haha! Idk if it's still like that but anyways that's all.
Funny because GU is a branch of Uniqlo lol. But your friend is not that wrong. Uniqlo is basically like a fast fashion brand. Its clothing are pretty sorta reasonable (notcheapthough) and pretty simple and bare when it comes to decoration so it attracts crowds of all ages since it is non offensive. I teach in japan and most of my work clothes (shirts blazers etc) are from uniqlo. I dont agree w the grandpa and grandma thing since uniqlo does collab w a lot of good fashion designers although people who shop at uniqlo are def more adult centric. Im guessing they said that because Uniqlo tends to cater to function (they have clothes like heat tech for winter) and the design is pretty bare. Basic Japanese fashion really loves decor and lots and lots of English words/phrases (most often with wrong grammar) on clothing they put those silly asian tattoos on white people to shame lol
Meanwhile GU basically is targeted towards young people and especially teenagers. They reflect the trends of the youths and they are a bit more cheaper. I tend not to shp at gu mainly because I will see my students there lol.
Her style couldn't be farther from mine, I'd never wear that stuff except I love rock t shirts but I respect that she loves it and is confident in dressing like that, her personal style.
I’m obsessed with pants that just graze the ground, too, and have been trying to capture the look for years. The key seems to be wearing a fairly high (at least for me) heel, which I’ve never been able to do because ouch. Also, I love her overall style 💯
OMG When I saw it first I thought it would be lovely if you react to it, but thought it won't happen because of the language. I'm so happy to see it!!!!
8:26 I have been watching the new SATC episodes and Carrie Bradshaw was also wearing cropped little booties in one of the scenes - where she went to the convenience store to grab a coffee and talked to the owner after many years
Not that anyone cares lol but fun fact!! When The Clash were just forming they saw Paul Simonon walk into the cafe they were holding auditions at and asked him to be in the band as the bassist even though he didn’t even know how to play or that they were auditioning him all because they liked his style. He grew up in a neighborhood full of Jamaican immigrants and said he loved strolling around seeing how they all would dress up to go to each other’s house parties and that inspired him to start dressing well. So Paul became the stylist of the band bc he had such a great eye!! Everything goes full circle :)
Anne reminds me of some of the young girls that run around in the streets of Toronto, specifically in the markets. They collect vintage, are unfussy, and radiate this purity in their style and bid for comfort. Its a very approachable style that lends it self to upcycling, minimalism and sentimentality...and definitely influences from Japan and Korea. I see them a lot at my local Uniqlo too lol
I love the oversized and masculine look. For me I don’t make millions but nothing like taking ownership of my husband’s shirts or jacket. The pants I try to keep slim but when I was younger I would do both baggy shirt and pant combo. Plus the touch of fem with the shoes is chefs kiss. I am obsessed with the yan yan cardigan, I found a purple one at Nordstrom going to buy asap!!

velvet can be made of synthetics, actually! velour is a STRETCH velvet, which is why it's usually made of synthetics, but velvet can be made of cotton, silk, rayon, polyester, and blends of those. you mentioned wool vs jersey before-wool is a fiber, jersey is a weave type. if you want to learn some cool fiber applications, check out nicole rudolph's series on natural fibers. (the synthetic fiber videos are in the works, i believe!) before her, i didn't know that wool could be made into a satin weave!
As one of the people who DMed you about this, thank you!
I really hoped you'd do this one... I'm in love with that coat
*I just realised there are multiple coats... I actually love them all
So happy you did this one! Would love to see you review mirei kiritani’s 7 days 7 looks too!
This is the best one I've seen. She has great taste.
The two-piece dress and the green sweater are to die for. Very cool and effortless.
Anne's got a point, she's an icon, she's a legend and she is the moment💥
something interesting:
When I visited japan a few years ago, I asked my friend (who was my age around 19 y/o) to bring me to uniqlo so I could shop for some clothes.
Listening to you talking about fashion is so addictive, you are a pleasure to hear and I am learning so many things!
Thank you and hugs from Italy! ❤
OMG When I saw it first I thought it would be lovely if you react to it, but thought it won't happen because of the language. I'm so happy to see it!!!!
8:26 I have been watching the new SATC episodes and Carrie Bradshaw was also wearing cropped little booties in one of the scenes - where she went to the convenience store to grab a coffee and talked to the owner after many years
The clash!!! Lost in the supermarket is stuck in my head now.
Please please please do CL. But this is awesome and thank you for your insights as always
That cardigan kint by Yan Yan was everything I want!!!
I have been waiting for this one !
She is what I call effortlessly chic 💖💖💖
Not that anyone cares lol but fun fact!! When The Clash were just forming they saw Paul Simonon walk into the cafe they were holding auditions at and asked him to be in the band as the bassist even though he didn’t even know how to play or that they were auditioning him all because they liked his style. He grew up in a neighborhood full of Jamaican immigrants and said he loved strolling around seeing how they all would dress up to go to each other’s house parties and that inspired him to start dressing well. So Paul became the stylist of the band bc he had such a great eye!! Everything goes full circle :)
HER STYLEEEE İS OUTSTANDİNG!!!
Please do CL's next!! I've been waiting for it for weeks!
Uniqlo's quality is SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD I don't even like their designs but I keep going back because of their quality
This woman has so much style. Thanks for reviewing! Please do Kristen Mcmenamys closet tour on British Vogue. Obsessed with her eccentricity.
In my opinion, this was the best one so far from any vogue
I was fangirling over her style while watching the video, excited to see your take!!!
the fact that Loewe's Studio Ghibli collab sold out within hours is killing me
I love her style, beautiful, minimalist, unpretentious 👌
You know London Calling and Rock the Casbah. Yes you do.
