barbie ferreira's 7 days 7 looks was one of my favorites, she is definitely a fashion girl! also love seeing different amazing brands on someone who is plus sized :) it gave me some outifit inspo too
Agreed. I’m a “midsize” girl (Size 8/10) and that green top/purple skirt fit? I’m definitely doing that 😍 and the corset/ cargo pant combo? Perfection!
That crochet bun thing is suuuper common for ballerinas in brazil. Also, it’s interesting to see some brazilian elements since barbie is of brazilian descent
I have beef with Barbie and that is she NEVER tags the outfits she’s wearing. As a plus sized girly I find this criminal with how fire her fits are. 🥵 Edit: typo 😗
Lmao I used to wear those crochet bun covers over my hair in my early years of doing ballet; she really took the ballet-core trend literally and we love to see it
I love that she is curvy and she is so fashionable but also she dresses for her build. I’m a curvy girl too and I am a firm believer that just because you can get it on doesn’t mean you look good in it. She shows that you can be curvy and stylish.
Way before Euphoria, Barbie was my role model because she was the first plus size model my age I saw that didn't wear bland clothes (no hate to Ashley Graham but her image was very glamorous and feminine), I love how she's always had a playful and interesting way to dress, it's lowkey inspiring.
The little bun crochet thingy is actually another ballet inspired accessory (Barbie likes to draw from a ballet core style) and its a bun cover! It’s no seen in performances, but we use it in training as an accessory or just simply, because i holds the bun in shape. If your bun isn’t super perfect you could just put over the bun cover your mom crochet for you. I don’t see these as often anymore, but especially kids wear these quite a lot. Crochet bun covers aren’t the only ones, i own a hard plastic one that’s really good if you don’t have much time and there are other fabric ones, but most of the time your hair is shining through. I love seeing things like these resurface as fashion statements in the ballet core trend, because they are just really cute and remind me of my childhood :))))
Yes, I think everyone knows things get swiped from the set, and that's why it continues lol! I like her sense of style! It seems like she wears what makes her feel good, not just look good. I really liked the Fendi look. And her glowy skin at the Met Gala literally made me gasp.
I only watched his reactions until a couple weeks ago. People were saying he should react to Barbie's week and I decided to checkout the Vogue channel for the first time. I watched all the 7 days videos that Luke hadn't covered yet. Then I got addicted to their Life in Looks series where celebrities talk about their iconic looks. I'm sad Ive watched them all now. 😔
the crochet hair net is a brazilian thing! it’s used by young girls to go to ballet class mostly and is not seen as a fashionable accessory outside of ballet class or service jobs with safety requirement to put your hair in a bun. (maybe now it’s going to)
It’s also popular for Western horseback riding. I had to wear one for showing. Ours usually have rhinestones in them, because it’s a very bling-centric sport.
loved to know other countries use that too :) i didn’t mean to imply they originated in brazil tho - what i meant is that since barbie ferreira is of brazilian descent there are some aspects of her fashion that might be inspired by brasil :)
Just wanted to say- your channel has become a weekly essential for me and my boyfriend. Not only is your content educational, but it’s also entertaining and relaxing. It’s a perfect mix of all of the things we want! You’ve taught us SO much about personal style and made us laugh along the way. You’re just so so so awesome
Luke: thank you for being one of the few channels that can be funny and entertaining without taking it too far. I know that probably sounds weird, but I’ve seen so many youtubers get popular over a gag and end up turning it into their entire persona in a desperate attempt to keep people viewing (which tends to have the opposite effect because it can get unbearable to watch). I really enjoy your humor, and it’s refreshing that you don’t try so hard to force it into every inch of every one of your videos - the balance makes your funny/witty comments even more enjoyable.
wow, I love her energy! It made this so entertaining. A lot of the 7 days episodes are just the celebrities listing of the designers/brands of the clothes and it often doesn't really seem believeable that they'd wear the stuff they are presenting. But this? She seems totally into the clothes and has something interesting to tell about all of the outfits. Also: all the outfits look actually comfortable to wear?!
the melissa had me dying a little. as a brazilian, I always think of them as kid shoes, because that's when I used to wear that, as most people I know. but it's fun to see them
The clogs she's wearing aren't the Melissa collab but it's super cool they did the collab to make their product a little more affordable for us aspirational gals!
love it so much i had pictures from simon miller’s clog in my pinterest and now i can have it i absolutely love the shape from their clogs. i bought one and im looking for a second one 🥲
The little crochet thingy on her bun is probably a reference to hair bun accessories, designed to prevent your hair from unraveling from the bun. I have owned some very utilitarian ones for ballet, designed to match your hair color and be invisible. And at some point in the 80s/90s they were sort of trendy in a visible version, in sort of a a black fishnet
I am just so proud of you and how your channel grew. You deserve it! I love how much insight you give us, it shows how much time you devote to fashion.
A 100% agree. I love watching Luke because he actually knows his stuff and explains how brands use details to tie their design into the bigger picture.
I'm feeling the need to make a video to react at Luke's looks in his reaction videos. I mean 'Luke's Looks' should be an entire genre on this channel. Why isn't this happening? Anyway, If I where to make a video of his looks this blue trench one would be my favorite 💙
I looove Barbie and her style!!!! But tbh can anyone relate to this. Like I’m so jealous how beautiful and structured her face is even tho she is plus sized. That’s kind of a thing I noticed on most plus sized models. It makes someone like me (I’m average sized but my face is squared jawed and incredibly chubby no matter how much weight I lose) feel like one’s face must stay slim no matter what. We’re finally getting acceptance for our natural bodies but not for our natural faces 😩
I’m just sad about the sabotage on Barbie character in Euphoria season 2… As a plus size girl myself, that was super disappointing… she is iconic and definitely a whole model
Just saw one of his videos from several years ago. He’s come a looong way. He’s killing it. Also way more educated and handsome. I’m here for it. Good job sir 🤝👍🏼
Gonna start making a drinking game out of Haute Le Mode videos where you take a drink every time Luke says "sort of" 😂😂😂 (I mean this so playfully, love your videos!!)
i believe the white corset is from the brand miaou . paloma was wearing the thermal top in her 7 days, 7 looks by vogue. i was so interested to hear your thoughts on the brand.
The Colosseo Quadrato (Squared Colosseum) is actually made of Travertino, not Marble. It’s similar but not the same, so I don’t think that would specifically be the inspo there. Carrara Marble on the other hand could be the one you’re referring to, though the Fendi HQ are based in Rome. Sending love from Rome and appreciating your reviews nonetheless 🤍
Sometimes I just want to feel fancy/hot when I go grocery shopping too. Then my family gives me the wth you wearing speech. People also stare here. I'm working on not caring.
How do you decide what what looks good vs what looks bad? Some of those looks look costumey. I'd like to know how to avoid looking bad without looking boring
i dont think that the clog barbie is wearing is from melissa. they indeed made this awesome collaboration but simon miller does have this clog in vegan leather in his own brand and i believe that that’s what she is wearing especially due to the date of the video. the collaboration is very recent and the video is not. i stan so much this collaboration i already bought mine and looking for a second one xoxo
I have a similar body type and I wish I could have 1/100th of her confidence. I hate the way my body looks but she looks and feels so good, it’s amazing.
That bun-crochet covers are very eastern-european. Since it is very common in eastern-european countries to dance ballett or do Rhythmic gymnastics (plus you can find many flowers and color in hair-accessoires), such are very typical

they’re used in the US too! I see them most often on little girls in ballet. I think it makes it easier for their moms to do their hair 😂
They're used for young ballerinas in Asia too~ It's super nostalgic to see it again.
In Russia we used them too
And in the UK
I did ballet in Greece and we all had those, it gave me flashbacks to having my mom secure my bun with like 20 bobby pins hahaha!

Omg no the pink bow bag was literally the cherry on top of the outfit. I'm living for the way the pastels play off of each other.
yes with how the purple in the stone matches the skirt sooo cute and i love a pink and green moment done well.
yeahhhh the bag ate😅 glad i’m not the only one who feels like it was the perfect finish for the fit
Agreed. I thought the bag choice was very Barbie and complimented the look. It’s classic with a hint camp.
The bag is from forBitches,( yes that's the brand's name) and they're mostly known for their doll and toy inspired bags.
It plays well off of the shoes too!!
