This review of the Bikeriders is pretty spot on about how overdrawn biker movies/shows (Sons of Anarchy/Mayans) are, like outlaw bikers on film are superheroes with bikes when in reality they're just PEOPLE. Sorry, I had to turn off this review at 2:09 . I'm going to go see this. Stacked with talent, well written, directed and filmed. I'm in the mood for a really good movie. Thanks for the recommend Snarky. I'll come back here after I see the movie. I ride motorcycles. Not Harley's, just motorcycles. I know the culture. These times were some demented but definitely awesome times. Truly a different world. Finally, something I can see without a puke bag.

well the movie was mid . it was kinda OK but nothing special . hardy was overacting . butler was good , shannon was good , jodie comer and her character come across as annoying for me in this movie .
You nailed the sentiment I felt when I saw this movie. One of the more subtle depictions, but one that I could relate to the most was the scene when Kathy first got on the back of Benny's bike, and all the other bikes surrounded them riding down the highway. The look on her face. I know that feeling. It's the most incredible feeling in the world being on the back of that motorcycle.
They aren’t marketing it much if at all because it doesn’t have Hollywoods DEI bs shit in it. It’s a beautifully done period piece that actually represents the time it’s set in.
Wow, Jay; I can't honestly remember the last time you unabashedly enjoyed something! Andor, maybe? You're right that the marketing for The Bikeriders' marketing has been underwhelming. Thanks to your review, I'll consider seeing it.
The Jodie Comer TV series, Killing Eve, was excellent. 4 seasons and 32 episodes. I recommend it to anybody. Comer is known for her ability to master multiple accents. She hails from Liverpool, England.
What I liked about this review is you gave reasons for liking the movie without spoiling any of the plot. You targeted specific, objective, things that will likely get a number of people to check it out. Unfortunately, I won't be one of them, as this isn't a movie that I would enjoy. But that's just me and what I enjoy. However, I will be passing a link to this to others who might be interested in seeing this. I very much enjoyed your review of this.
I’m am so hype for The Bikeriders it reminds me of a adult version of The Outsiders (if you haven’t that seen that movie I totally recommend it) and don’t even get me started with the cast with many of my favorites like Tom Hardy, Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon & Austin Butler all in one movie yeah I can’t wait to watch this one and glad you enjoyed it Jay.
Wow giving me nostalgic vibes with that reference - you may know this but the author of The Outsiders was only 14 years old when she wrote it and the movie follows the book pretty much down to a T. Stay gold friend!
SJ likes something. Wow that is new. This film kind of reminds me of the local biker gang that had their club house on our block growing up. The funny part is that they were actually good neighbors who didn't bother anyone(other than revving their bikes) and left people alone. Though they did apparently have an epic brawl with Army Airborne Commandos stationed close by in their bar hangout where 25 bikers defeated about 45 Army Commandos head to head. Now that was bad yaass.
Jay, it's Jodie (not Judy) Comer. (Proof that we're all human and make 'forgiveable mistakes.) This actress is top notch and great with accents. Loved her since discovering the 'Killing Eve' series. I intended to go see 'The Bikeriders', but now will make it a 'certainty' after watching your review.

Nice to hear a positive review now and again. I quite like Tom Hardy. Jodie Comer does great work. I didn't see the Elvis movie but caught that dude in Heroes of the Air or whatever, and he seems okay. If it actually makes it up here to the Great White North, I'll give it a try.
I was was interested immediately when I saw that Jeff Nichols was the Writer and Director of this film. After seeing "Take Shelter", "Midnight Special" and "Loving" and parts of "Mud" not all, to me Jeff is a fantastic film maker who is extremely diverse in the type of films he makes. I cannot wait to see this when it comes out for me next month. Just a little trivia with Jeff's movies is that Michael Shannon is in all four of his theatrical releases I just mentioned, a brilliant actor.
I'm a huge admirer of Jeff Nichols as a director and a writer. I've enjoyed all of his films that I've seen. He's hugely overlooked. I'm looking forward to watching this on Monday.
Snarky Jay, your review offered a balanced overview that highlighted both the film’s strengths and weaknesses. It was succinct yet informative, also I can't stand "Sons of Anarchy" it's the only show where I was rooting for them all to fall off a cliff.

Love this review and that you got it! It is such a beautiful and authentic portrayal of the culture rather than the over romanticized version of the bad boy life. My only complaint is your comments about Austin. His voice is the same now as it was before he played Elvis. Go listen to the book he narrated in 2018 called Carve the Mark. Because people compare his current voice to when he was 20 they find it different but you could hear his voice beginning to change in Shannara.
Great review, I think you nailed it. This is not an action movie. This is not SOA on the big screen. In fact it is not a motorcycle movie - it is a movie with motorcycles in it, several of the main characters and many of the supporting characters ride. Motorcycles are prominently featured in it but this is, gasp! Story telling. I saw it last night. I expected something different. I was not disappointed that it wasn’t what I thought, because what it is, is very well done. You don’t have to be a motorcycle enthusiast to enjoy this movie. Don’t go expecting lots of explosions, gunfire, motorcycle stunts/chases… Go to be entertained, and have a human story presented to you visually and with pretty decent dialog. Yes, pacing/editing is maybe not perfect - there were some things I would have liked to have seen a little more of. The director/editor certainly keeps things moving along, no lingering or loitering here! One funny thing - (partial spoiler alert) - near the end of the movie there is a short segment where they are presenting “what happened to…” One of the characters gets a gig sitting on his Harley in front of a theater promoting the movie Easy Rider (1969). I nearly burst out laughing in the theater. Our local Harley Dealership and the theater had put together a “bike night” at the theater. They invited us to bring our bikes and park on the concourse right out in front of the theater. About 50 or so of us took them up on that. It occurred to me we had unwittingly signed up to do exactly the same thing one of the characters in the movie was doing. Now that was funny!
I've been a fan of Jodie Comer since Killing Eve, she plays an amazing serial killer. I was on the fence about going to see this, you made a strong case I'm gonna go now
I’ll be honest. I used to ride, know a lot of guys in “bike clubs”. I didn’t like this movie. Thought it was stupid. Based on a book by a journalist. Ok that checks out. On another note I like your outfit today.
We definitely need more real movies like this. Real time piece with the sentiment of that time. Not the ultra-super inclusive pc junk Hollywood is pushing these days. Good thing this movie wasn't produced Kathleen Kennedy the panderstone.
I had a ticket to see this on Monday but wasn't able to make it. Sounds like I should make another attempt at watchin it. Also ya killed it Jay on matching your outfit to the theme of the content (like ya always do) and look stunning. Hope ya enjoy your next movie as well as ya did this
Coincidentally, I just watched "Lenny" with Dustin Hoffman a couple nights ago. That movie is also had a documentary angle: Interviews with characters interspersed with scenes of story.
The majority of the film was shot on film, only two action sequences were digital- according to interviews. So that attributes to your praise of the lighting
First off, the outfit? DAMM GIRL! second, really need to really limit the really overused word, really! BUT THANK YOU! This was a great synopsis and it is appreciated!
I was complimenting the outfit, sorry if it seemed like a complaint. One of your best! Now I a apologize if me pointing out that you said really or real 20 times inside 2 minutes after saying it once in the first 4 minutes! I DO appreciate your content and only point out the details cause I found it funny! Its rare that you do anything like that, so I figured you might be open to that one criticism. I WILL be going to the movies to see this one due to your review only. so thank you!
What I like about this movie is how tackles its theme of toxic relationships. As most people don’t have the self-respect to tell a person that they love that they must change their ways, otherwise this is gonna end. Most people (women or men) always believe that love means shielding their partner or spouse from their own self-destructive behavior. Most people today learn that too late.
RE: lighting on a movie...... This was filmed on 35mm film. So they had to make the lighting work. That being said, plenty of digitally shot movies look great; like Dune. Great review!
I’m glad you liked it. I thought it was ok. Tom Hardy’s “American” voice sounds pretty much like every other movie where he plays an American, even Venom, so it was a bit distracting at times. Kind of pulled me out of it. Austin Butler’s “Elvis” voice, however, actually played to his benefit in this one, and the story is interesting. I say it’s worth a watch 🙂
Ayyyyyyyye Biker-Jay is smokin'! Awesome review hun. Loved the insights and makes me excited to watch it. I was raised by bikers and have been riding since I was 13 so shows like SoA although entertaining for various reasons, kinda made me gag a bit at how they portrayed the lifestyle (and physically recoil at all the "super cool" bros that suddenly thought they were tough bikers and started wearing cuts after a couple episodes) so its good to know it seems like this movie was done well and portrays the early days of the MC lifestyle well.
BIKERIDERS was phenomenal ! I was heavily tied to the Motorcycle culture years ago and can tell you that this story is based off of The Outlaws Motorcycle Club, the guy Sonny (Sonny Barger) in the movie I believe was the founder of the Hells Angels MC. Movie was legit ASF!
I’m a HUGE movie lover/fanatic and aspiring actress. I’ve already watched 16 new releases in the movie theater this year including the BikeRiders. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bikeriders. It’s in my top ten favorite movies of 2024 thus far. This was another good movie review. ❤❤❤❤
I plan on seeing it next week but I have heard from a couple of reviewers that the movie isn't quite what the trailer suggests. That doesn't bother me. I usually forget the trailers by the time the movie starts.
I went into it with the same attitude. I really didn't expect much. This is about the (true) transition of one motorcycle club (like the legendary Chicago Outlaws, knock, knock) to the aberration we see today. I actually thought the story was better than the movie (some of the acting and casting didn't impress me) but the movie is very good.
Im happy to hear this. I collect Vintage - Current biker movies. I have over 75! Hope this gets a blueray quick! Thanks for the video. The cast seemed too good to be true. It's a period, and culture, thats strictly AMERICAN. The returning vet, the yearning for freedom and brotherhood, the clubs, their stories, the bands, the country! ...the 1960s (especially late) were a wild and magical time for this sub-culture. ...anyway, thanks again.
Tom Hardy rarely disappoints.

Happy Friday Eve Jay!!
Loved the movie. Tom hardy was amazing in it one of his best roles and jody comer steals the show.
I'm going to watch this movie just because, you recommend it🎉
Great review. Love the content, keep it coming.
I am happy that you enjoyed the film! I'm going to see it tomorrow!
Not exactly sure what you're wearing but I love it lol
Thanks. I was debating if I wanted to watch this movie or not. Based on your review I'm going to give it a try.
I’m sold and will see it. What makes this special? I haven’t been to a theater since 2020.
Grreat honest review, I kinda thought handsome Squidward was trying to hard but now I want to see it thanks!
The majority of the film was shot on film, only two action sequences were digital- according to interviews. So that attributes to your praise of the lighting
I'm interested. I just hate theaters. Well, more like other people who go to theaters and do literally anything but watch the movie.
😁
Thanks Snarky Jay. Looks like I finally have a movie to look forward to go see.
A beautiful day with my fix of Snarky Jay 🤩❤️😘
What I like about this movie is how tackles its theme of toxic relationships. As most people don’t have the self-respect to tell a person that they love that they must change their ways, otherwise this is gonna end. Most people (women or men) always believe that love means shielding their partner or spouse from their own self-destructive behavior. Most people today learn that too late.
I'll check it out Jay. Awesome shirt(?) btw.
Thanks for reviewing this. I've been wanting to watch it since I first saw the ad (maybe a year ago). But I had no idea that it was out.
RE: lighting on a movie......
This was filmed on 35mm film. So they had to make the lighting work. That being said, plenty of digitally shot movies look great; like Dune.
Great review!
This is the first positive review I've heard from you in a while 😂
FACTS 😂
That outfit is Catwoman-y
Ok, glad to hear something good about a movie for once. Would you be willing to review the Meg ?
I’m a HUGE movie lover/fanatic and aspiring actress. I’ve already watched 16 new releases in the movie theater this year including the BikeRiders. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bikeriders. It’s in my top ten favorite movies of 2024 thus far. This was another good movie review. ❤❤❤❤
Jeff Nichols deserves a hit at this point.
Nice to have a positive review for something out there.
Holy moly your subs are increasing so fast ❤
May we ask what type of mic you use Miss Jay? Is that what they call a Lavalier? What brand? The More You Know TM.
I loved the movie. I saw it yesterday. I thought it captured the grittiness and raw emotion of biker life very well. Great review.
Great review! Thank you for validating my thoughts and opinions on this movie. Have seen it twice in the theater. :)
Release date for Australia is 4th of July 2024
Im happy to hear this. I collect Vintage - Current biker movies. I have over 75! Hope this gets a blueray quick! Thanks for the video. The cast seemed too good to be true. It's a period, and culture, thats strictly AMERICAN. The returning vet, the yearning for freedom and brotherhood, the clubs, their stories, the bands, the country! ...the 1960s (especially late) were a wild and magical time for this sub-culture. ...anyway, thanks again.
Thanks, Snarky. You give me hope for the future: hat Gen Z has some plucky, smart, creative, attractive thought-leaders. Keep it up.
