I lost it when Joseph talked about everyone’s teeth. He had me snorting!
😂😂😂😂dead
"The range of dentitia!" LOLOL I always notice teefus too. LOL
Norman Reedus always looks like he needs a good scubbin
I wanted to see a little bit more about the transition from the old to the new and how things changed in America during those times. Johnny's death broke my heart. I love Jodie Comer, the master of accents. She's my favorite actress, so talented. If you really want to see her act then you must watch the series Killing Eve!
Lots of people and filmmakers have an excellent knowledge of film! Only Nick truly has an encyclopedic knowledge!
The way I gasped when I thought Tom Hardy and Austin Butler were about to kiss. 💋 👥
Enjoyed this movie way more than I anticipated. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2
The Jimmy Dean sausage took me out 😂😂 ❤
Hi Joseph & Nick! 🏍I saw the movie today. Austin's acting was awesome as always and Tom was great too. For being a biker movie, I was kinda shocked how mellow and slow pace the movie was and all of the people were talking (the dialogue) was so slow. I know the 1960s was a more mellow era, but I think the dialogue was extremely exaggerated. BIKERS RULE!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I like how joseph kept calling the reporter the challengers guy 😂 it took me like a half hour to realize where I knew him from
Oh wow. I saw this movie Friday and I didn’t realize who he was until just now. 😂
Hi, I just wanted to say that you both have such a unique perspective on movies. Why you do or do not like them, your knowledge of film in general, it's just a delight to watch you both discuss whatever it is you are reviewing. You also talk about shows that I would never hear of otherwise. Plus you are both interesting, and funny! Thanks for what you do!
I just saw a trailer for this film today. I am SUPER EXCITED 🎉🎉🎉to hear yall thoughts! The thumbnail is already giving me pause.. I'm mad i gotta wait so many more days for the review 😂
Me too
I kind of like how they tell the guy to take off his jacket and he’s like hell no
The only way you getting this jacket is from my Cold Dead Hands!
(I’m paraphrasing)
".. a rebel without a pause..." lol
"I really expected them to make out" 😂😂😂
Norman Reedus was on Walking Dead. Not sure if he still is. He also has a kid with Helena Christensen!
I always love Nick in flannel shirts!
The main show ended and Reedus is doing a spin off show of his character.
Just saw the Bikeriders. For once, I didn't care that someone in the theater was on their phone. His Instagram feed was literally the most exciting part.
Loved Take Shelter - underrated movie.
Hi, guys! I saw the movie Monday Night. The Regal Cinemas chain has a mystery movie once or twice month, usually something coming out in the coming weeks, and Bikeriders was the mystery movie. I felt at times like the actions of the bike gang weren't extreme enough, I even felt sometimes like I watching a sequel to The Outsiders, because the mischief that they got into was very low-stakes. The performances were great, though. I guess I was more expecting more action and less talking.
Been looking forward to hearing what you guys think about this one yayy!! 🎉
Really Nick? Norman Reedus has only done damn near 12 seasons of The Walking Dead. LOL.
Jimmy Dean!!😂
I love you guys! When I saw this, I immediately recognized Cockroach. Only because I love the movie Brooklyn. But also agree that he looks completely different 😂
Def want to see this one. Thanks for the review
OK! Wanted to watch the entire review right now but cannot yet. Stopped when ya said the quote that included: ‘it’s the biker flick I didn’t know I needed, Joseph.
My son & I have been going to films together since he was 3 years old & loved Batman: Mask of Phantasm! We haven’t been to a movie since his 1st child was born on Jan. 1st this year!! This will be our first one back this weekend. I’ll finish the review. THRILLED you seemed to likey, altho messy!!!♥️🍿🍫🥤🎬✨
Have you guys ever watched the series "Justified"? Damon Herriman was so good in that too! I
Going out of my way to catch this on Saturday. I've been keen to watch it for a while, but now it's in my local.
When you guys were talking about Jodie I was so surprised you didn't know about her from Killing Eve. She's amazing in it. Only 4 seasons and it's on Netflix now. You'll love it. Dark humor and she is a chameleon. So talented. Sandra Oh co-stars. Love her ❤
Norman Readus was in Walking Dead. I recently saw him in an Orville Peck music video called The Curse of the Black Eye. Orville has such a cool voice. Happy Pride Month 🌈
Jodi’s Theater act was way over topnotch solo performance! She’s a raising star! Except no gd script for her now!! Sadly.
I so enjoyed Tom Hardy and was happy to see him doing movies again. It was a cool concept. Fun in a way and made me laugh.
I really do not like Austin butler. I just don’t. He was great in Dune but there’s just something about him that I just don’t like. Idk
It looks like it has potential, but I don’t want to get my hopes up…
Villanelle!!
Good review. Not mentioned in it was the needle drop pop songs. Lots of exciting 60's music that enhanced the scenes of choppers on the open road (and fights and parties). Almost really good..... they did that annoying modern hollywood thing where you only hear about 15 seconds of a song.
Also annoying is the parts in the script where the narrator would say something bad happened then we see it. This is done at least 3 times and totally removed any tension of what we were about to see.
I would say keep an eye out for the actor who played The Kid--Toby Wallace. He was in a low budget film from Australia called Boys in the Trees (2016) that has a lot of style and heart.
Nick I am surprised you didn't care for "Loving." Although I have heard you criticize this film in passing before. I thoroughly enjoyed that flick. Of course one of my favs Marton Csokas is in a supporting role. Even so I thought the story was well told. As for this movie I definitely want to see it if Tom Hardy gives a solid performance. He is seriously underrated as a true actor.
Agreed
can't wait to watch this!! i'm drooling over tom hardy on a bike already
Me too😂❤
I'll go watch it only because of Tom. Tom's fan for many years. 👍👍🔥
Jodie Comer is a fabulous actress. I can see her hitting the big time 🙂
The narrative seem to lean on the 'never give up attitude.' Could be, like you suggest, nomination for awards for the cast here though.
I saw this movie on Monday and I thought it was a mess lol, Tom Hardy was the best part
Agreed
It was a really enjoyable movie and the acting was really above grade but something about the script felt a little bit hollow like maybe they could’ve done more with characters if like they were just rushing through to the finale. Something felt missing by the end of the movie.
Glad you all mentioned that EXTREMELY homoerotic scene between the two of them. I was very confused!
It was a good movie, not great. But for me when they mentioned Norridge, Harwood Heights, and Elmwood Pk. I was shocked. That all this was right here in Chicago.
Joseph’s review in one word “CUTE.”
only gonna see it for the delish Austin.
The film would have been far more interesting if it would have followed The Kid's rise to power and all that happened in between up to his inevitable downfall as the gang moves on without him. As far as the ending goes....imo it had to end the way it did cause if it didn't Johnny would have ripped thru The Kid like a wet paper bag. Jeff Nichols definitely has an opportunity to continue the story with the life of The Kid tho.
Want to see you both review the 1978 Danish movie, "You are not Alone"..
Was disappointed in this film not because it was terrible but because there was so much wasted potential.
*Spoilers*
I agree that narratively, the film felt disjointed. It doesn't establish any time period cutting to scenes from the 60s, 70s, and 60s again. Most odd was inserting the interview from the 60s when it would have been more logical for the last interview to be used as a framing device. The major weakness of the film, however, is that the story isn't that interesting. It would have been far more interesting if Johnny's death had been the inciting incident, and Benny felt compelled to challenge the new Vandals to assume the role that was already given to him. I understand that this was loosely based on real characters, but the former would have made for a much more interesting story, facts be damned. As it is, Austin Butler felt like a background character in his own movie.
Wasn't surprised that the Kid cheated in his match against Johnny. The way I assumed it would go would be that the Kid's gang would ambush Johnny and his team and end up killing most of them. However, the way it plays out, Johnny's gang come across as totally weak which was perhaps the point. However, it didn't make much sense to me given Johnny's honor code or after seeing the scene where they all show up for Brucie's funeral. It also didn't make for the most compelling cinema experience.
I was worried about Tom Hardy's accent from the trailer, but he pulls off the role and has an undeniable screen presence. So does Austin with the little he's given to do. Overall, not a film that will be remembered or talked about but a passable way to spend a couple hours.
Emory Cohen used to be pretty not that long ago, was also shocked to see his appearance in this film.
The not working aspect killed me! I also didn't necessarily buy into Benny loving Kathy because they didn't show me enough of their relationship.
Do you really think club members work ?! Wow...
Wasn’t Dean & Brando a dysfunctional couple for a short time.
You have to watch Killing Eve! Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are amazing.
I dont care about any of the characters in this movie
Toby Wallace was great in Babyteeth. Great film, check it out!
When you bring a gun to a knife fight
Not Asian any winehouse😂
How come you guys havent review agreat film like ghostlight , lately just commercials films please do , i loved it remind me of coda
Bikeriders was between good and ok could be better
Nick looks amazing in red! Love it when you boys wear grown up shirts 😅❤❤❤
A lot of toxic masculinity and homoeroticism .... I'm sure there's more layers too, like I wonder if the filmmaker addresses the "father wound" - all that unhealed trauma from absent and/or abusive fathers they may have had and the pressure of patriarchal roles and expectations that many men can not live up to. Might check it out. Thanks Gents.
🏍️🛵
😂 This movie like most movies at the moment was a try hard.. Cormer's annoying accent (a cross between Canadian and boston) was like pulling teeth and Tom Hardy trying his upmost to be a plastic Marlon Brando was just too desperate sorry as I really wanted this to work I really did...
I thought mud was a great movie
the cast is stacked but i’m not the demo for this film. it’s a skip for me. i have zero interest in the “biker” lifestyle.
I just left the theater. This movie was an awful, but it was quite boring for a bike or movie. I also felt weird to see the movie mostly focused on the girlfriend rather than the actual bike club. They gave her too much of a big part and she contributed nothing to the movie absolutely nagging the whole time.
Austin Butler is so unbearably cringey to me.
twaaaa he got that elvis voice though twaaaa (same )
Same
Ohhhh yeahhh, forgot to say: Benny’s a li’l heartthrob w/ that cutoff tee, draped on the back of that chair🪑 🔥🌶
