@@PEDROGARCIA-qj3gr Well the reason humans "don't always get it" is because cooperation isn't ALWAYS the best solution in terms of fitness / survival. So our behavior evolved to be flexible. In Overwatch, there are plenty of heroes that can rack up kills without needing much support, if the player is skilled. And some players just care how many kills they get, not whether the team wins or loses. I find this is especially true in Call of Duty. It feels WAY better to get a 31 killstreak in team deathmatch and lose than it does to do more poorly and win. In the end, everyone's still playing for their own selfish sense of accomplishment, and as Dunkey points out, Overwatch often fails because it's not designed around what players want to do, it's designed around what players would want to do in Jeff Kaplan's sugar-coated fairy fantasyland where everyone gets along and wants each other to do well lol.

“Trick them into playing as a team by giving them selfish rewards.”......well damn that sums up modern teamwork nicely
That is just smart game design. You can't expect someone to take one for the team in a group of randos. That is why professional esports is always fundamentally different from the way most people actually experience the game.
@@danielschroedinger2090 It's actually just game theory basically. The entire reason cooperation evolved as an animal behavior is ONLY because it is beneficial to individuals (or their close relatives). No one does nice things for other people just because, even if our egos trick us into thinking we do sometimes.
@@MamaSymphonia sure, you can break it down even further like that.
@@MamaSymphonia except humans don't always get it, and for sure "gamers" won't do it here, just think in any regular team sport, professionals know the importance of the team, meanwhile in amateur you always will see an idiot playing for himself, and blaming in the team when they lost, and people believe this just happens online.

I got 290 hrs on cs:go, which is okay imo. But it just gets stale so fast. Nothing to change it up but map rotation and maybe try a different gun. With valorant you can master a whole new hero, with new ones constantly coming out. Sure the map pool is much smaller, but when you're fighting a completely different team comp with a different hero and allies... that changes things.
