Have you checked out band/album Army of Anyone? It's the DeLeo brothers with Richard Patrick of Filter on lead vocal, and super drummer Ray Luzier. Great album.

It is also age related . Only people in their 20s max 30s and creative enough to bring something new to the music.
Tempo is all over place. Some parts sound like slow-moving mud.
