YES FINALLY SOME RESPECT ON MP8'S NAME! I absolute adored this game when it came out and have enjoyed it ever since. After playing most of the games, i can easily say that it is in my top 3 of all the Mario Parties. The memories of playing with friends, the sounds, the boards themselves beings spectacular and the dynamics of each all meshed together into something I'll never forget. Despite the motion controls, I never had too many issues with them and found ways to work them into games easily. Sure, some of the characters stared menacingly at you, but that was part of the charm moving to a new system. This will forever be one of my favorite party games and Tycoon Town = best board 😁 (also moped mayhem was, in fact, BASED)
It's weird to think that people were really sick of Mario Party at around this time - I guess being born just before the 2000s mattered a lot because I experienced less of the series back to back. Even so, the missteps until Super Mario Party were telling signs that Nintendo believed Mario Party needed to change. We already know the result of that, but Mario Party 8 was definitely a breath of fresh air to return to during the aforementioned "dark era." Still provides a lot of content even when compared to modern party games! Super great video, only sweetened by the Mimi (our kween) cameo.
Mario party 8 was the last Mario party game made by Hudson soft and for me personally it was one of the most underrated Mario party games ever

Wii Party is more mario party then mario party 9 is
I see so many people hate on 8 (heh) but it was so much fun at the time. I grew up with it and 7 so I'm a bit biased, but I feel that some don't take into consideration what it was like at the time and instead choose to compare it under a modern lens. Besides, you can play as blooper. Who doesn't want to play as blooper?

While I love Mario party, Mario Party 8 just isn’t for me… Half the boards all feel like you could play a different board from the older games.Most things I feel like could’ve been improved and a lot of the things are pretty much very monotonous and very soulless and just doesn’t feel like a good thing that it is just really casual which is okay if people are new to it but if you have played other games earlier it feels a bit more boring and a bit boring.
Items:Candy’s are dumb you say it’s because it feels more easy and more direct but Mario party 1-3 all had good DIRECT items, Mario party 8’s candy feels very flawed for example: when you steal something outside of the candy in bowser’s wrapped orbit (terrible board by the way rant later btw) you don’t gain the coins which means if you’re in last place since you don’t gain coins you have very little reason to use it also,because you can have them steal only 1 coin which you don’t want when you’re in dead last. Another thing is a lot of the candy just feels like HiT aNoThEr PlAyEr aNd SoMeThInG hApPeNs.
Minigames:While the minigames are okay they just don’t hold a candle to any other game except 1,the minigames definitely feel like they overuse motion controls which just feels wonky and again monotonous I just think that when there is a different space in the minigame explanation for motion controls that makes me feel that there is just too much motion controls.
Bowsers warped orbit RANT:If you haven’t seen yet I haven’t brought up yet is the boards that is because I just have very little to say. BUT there is a board that I do have things to say about which is bowsers warped orbit. THIS BOARD SUCKS IT HAS A SUPER UNORIGINAL CONCEPT, HAS A SUPER LINEAR STRUCTURE AND HAS SUPER LAME BOWSER SPACES AND DK SPACES. OH LOSE A STAR AND GAIN A STAR (SIGH) ALSO THE AMOUNT OF SPACE TYPES REEEALY SHOW ON THIS BOARD THERE ONLY 6 SPACE TYPES BLUE,RED,EVENT,LUCKY,BOWSER,DK SPACES, SINCE THIS IS THE FINAL BOARD THEY COULDVE EASILY REMOVED THE LUCKY SPACE AND REPLACE THEM WITH HMM OH YEAH DUEL SPACES(at least have the duel candy)THE EVENT SPACE JUST TRANSPORTS YOU TO A NEW AREA LASTLY THE ARROWS TO DIFFERENT PATHS IS SO POINTLESS LIKE WHY HAVE THEM OH WAIT ONE MORE THING IT ISIN’T THAT COOL THE CHANGING DIRECTIONS.
Even I did diss it a little too hard it still is an okay game so here are some good things
-Graphics
-MOST minigames
-epic host
-Koopa tycoon town
-Yoshi
-the characters
-decent music (not as good as 9)
-fun but weird story mode
-Funny to watch MOST boards
-moped mayhem was grrreat
-It walked so Mario party 9 could run
-not👏the👏worst👏Mario👏party (island tour and the top 100)
