As long ad it makes money dont matter what we use 😅 i bought the occidentals too when i used to worked for a comoany and know i just use a jorneyman pouch thats all i need to run my jobs
I bought a Martinez and occidental bags when I started my apprenticeship. I got a lot of hate because of it. I’m a journeyman now and both still going strong!
They say jealousy is a curse. What is wrong with having some pride in what you carry around your waist and torso for 40 hours per week. Why not have the best. In saying that, my rig is a combination of several types, and some are hand made myself. Overall, it is a hybrid custom job. Looks a bit odd, but very comfortable and functional for myself.
I’m currently an apprentice and I’m having the same thing happen right now regardless if it’s my helmet, tools, or tool belt. It doesn’t get to me at all since I believe a way to make your self better at your craft is investing in your self.
After 10 years of being a lineman my old diamond back rig finally snapped yesterday, I'll probably buy another one because for the money you can't beat em
my tool tool belt and pouches are all leather Amish made just show up at Barntragger's leather shop and you get fitted and they will ask you what kind of belt you want ask you what kind of work you are doing and they make everything too best place to go for gloves if you got short thumbs they can make you made to order doe skins by end of day i love that place
I run 2 rigs. Occidental fat lips with strong hold Suspenders. For sheet metal work or I run lighter Occidental finishers bag for pick up work with multiple clip pouches for versatility. Any of the bags you mentioned are quality Lee Tools is great but $
I’ve had the same $30 tool pouch for 10 years, and the same web belt for 6 or 7. The web belt was $10. I will say, in my experience, when you show up wearing a $600 tool belt, swinging a $400 hammer, that tells me you charge extra to pay for your look as opposed to being able to do your job.
They both make some really nice gear. I've been debating a single DB or Akribis pouch for doing siding/vinyl work. Akribis has a lot of good reels and videos up on FB and IG. One feature is being able to add on an extra hammer loop.
I bought Occidental Leather pro framer’s in the late eighties, when I started doing finish carpentry I bought a new set of Oxy lites, I’m semi retired now and both sets of bags are in good shape. I still use them when I have to
My Great Uncle carried a no-name leather bag on a no-name synthetic belt for 50+ years. Another carpenter I know FOUND an Estwing hammer lying at the side of the road sometime back in the 70’s. He still has that hammer, his own personal museum with 9 classic cars and a variety of income properties. Put the money where it matters, which is not in high priced tools.
As a reseller, i get all sorts of items, one of the things I can count of selling same day/next day are Occidental leather tool belts. Idk if it’s the area I’m in, but it’s crazy how fast they go
I got the 5 inch padded occi belt with stronghold suspenders and the two suspender pocket clipons all is leather cross. 3 years later no regrets at all
Occidental leather full leather with shoulder rig, carpenters bag left side, hammer loop in the back, right side snipes pouch with driver tab to hag your impact. Thats been my rig for about 7 years and it has never let me down
Tough built all the way. I switch during projects. I only wish they all had one option if they would only listen they could have the idea if they would make it for me.
I would get the smallest most minimalistic bag that will serve my needs for my job. Never will I get giant bags that hang down to my feet and stick out to far.
👎 AWP leather has lasted me 4 years of residential metal roofing averaging 20 lbs and 3 years in commercial steel framework carrying up to 30 lbs of bolts. I paid $49.95 and coworkers always come to me for tools before they go to the trailer because I have room for them
@@connercoy2599 yes. A coworker has the exact same pair of awp leather pouches so they can't be too rare. Another coworker got a newer set of leather awp bags and they aren't quite as spacious as the older ones but still hold a lot of fasteners and tool slots

Not even close though. Them boys go into debt for years and years.
BEEN WEARING THE SAME BAGS FOR OVER 40 YEARS. Leather. Some of the best carpenters I have ever met wear a small cloth tie on apron bag.
