Recheck the oil level after running it. The filter will fill, and the oil level in the engine will be slightly lower. It shouldn't be a lot because the filter is small, but why not get the oil level up to full.
First, use some cardboard, don’t mess up your garage floor. Then oil on the ground everywhere. Hahahaha. Just kidding. Thanks for the informative educative video clip. It helps a lot!
Hi, I have the same mower/engine, when I use the taller filters (Fram PH7575 0r 3614 or equivalents) the steering rod rubs/dents the filter when the left front axle goes upwards on hills or bumps, I can see in your video you don't have much clearance left with the taller Fram, the dealer told me they are well aware of this issue and that is why they went with the shorter filter (Kohler 12 050 01)
The W stands for winter, not weight. And with it being multi viscosity, it'll have the lubricity of 5 weight in cold temps and 30 weight in hotter temps. Just trying to help in case someone didn't know 👍🏻
Nope. You are supposed to put in oil to threads of the filter first and wait two minutes before installing. If not you have to adjust oil level again. Not sure if it has other benefits to fill the oil in the filter but manual recommends that. Good video however.
Great video! I have an issue with my front wheels going in different directions and it's difficult to steer. Any recommendations on how to fix that? My mower is very similar to the one in this video
Thanks for the video. What snowblower are you using? And how do you like it ? We live in Minnesota. Abd have been pondering a plow or snowblower for are xt1.
It’s a 3 stage snow thrower attachment for the cub cadet. I’m not sure if they currently seek it new you may find used out there. I like it, for clearing a lot of snow. However, it’s not super easy to swap every season when I remove the lawn mower deck and install the thrower.

Hello, where exactly do you check about other filter fitment? Normally places like Walmart doesn't let me select Lawn Mower as a vehicle in order to check about fitment. Is there any certain website where you go to check that?
If you're looking for a FRAM filter, you can go to their website and select lawn mowers. I think other manufacturers will have that on their website as well.
Fram PH7575 filter on this engine. The PH8175 should work as well. You can use a website similar to this to look up the exact one for your model/engine: www.fram.com/partFinder/search/index?type=3160&year=Any+Year&make=0187&model=14495300&engine=Any+Engine&car-type=lawn-garden
Thank you this is exactly what I needed!
You’re welcome!

I got a little too impatient on the pour :)

Extremely helpful
The hose was the best part.

Just curious why you wouldn't have drained it into your final container instead of having to transfer it. Just curious

5:30 I think you spilled some, but great video.
I totally botched that pour.
I thought you had to fill oil into the filter and let it soak for abit then put the filter on.

What about grease job?
Good idea. I need to put that on the list for future video as I get to it. Thanks for the watch & suggestion.
