Excellent video. Yes, you can grow them in soil, in shallow water, on a wet paper towel... I have never sprouted the pups in a container as you did. I'm impressed!
I just had my aloe roots and stem starting to rot away almost unnoticed... due to compacted soil (my assumption). I found your video and I hope the cuttings I've done will grow new pups!
I’ve watched almost all your videos in the past few days and have learned a lot, thank you for making these guides and sharing your passion and knowledge of aloe with us. One topic I would like to learn more about is how to correctly fertilize aloe vera using organic methods. I also am interested in growing other kinds of aloe from seed, though that might not be a topic that you’d be interested in covering. Thank you again for your videos!
I grow my Aloe vera using organic inputs, it's just difficult to show them on video because it takes a lot of time to show results. But, I'll try to make videos on this topic.
Thank you so much for your straight to the point video! I wish others making these kinds of videos would just cut to the chase like you instead of wasting other people’s time with unnecessary comments! Well done! I will try your method!
The more of your videos I watch, the more I come to appreciate Aloe! I feel confident now in being able to save and propagate my dying Aloe... so thank you!
Wow, I just discovered your channel. You are far too underrated. I will be watching your channel non stop on my next few days off work. Thanks for making this channel!
This worked for me! 🤩 Very cool. It also happened with one where I went to gently reposition a plant, and the entire plant except the bottom leaf somehow popped out in my hand... So I planted that, and left the one leaf in the existing pot. Now a new plant is growing on the outside of the bottom edge of that leaf, and a second new plant started growing in the center of the base of the original leaf! Interesting plants. Thanks for the tips! 🪴☀️🎉 I have a kind of unrelated question, if you or anyone here might know. I have one aloe plant that started growing new leaves that are almost white in the center, with very dark green stripes (parallel with the leaf shape). It's very pretty, but I'm hoping it's not a sign of disease... It seems fine otherwise, and is even producing pups, so perhaps it's just a different type of aloe from the others. If anyone knows, I'd be curious! Thanks again, regardless. :)
I'm no expert, but generally spurting off pups from pups is a sign of unhappy living conditions [hence the aim to rapidly replicate, which in succulent species tends to work well in conditions of either too much or too little water...] I've learned this the hard way, but to my benefit, gifting me pups that've taught me plenty. Similar to gifts of thousands of baby cichlid baby fishies that I wasn't ready for, although that was a sign I was doing things correctly, but then had to scramble to decide what to do with all of those.
You always have the best videos on aloe vera! ❤ At what point in propagation do you begin watering? Do you wait for the parent leaf to start to shrivel? I am out here in the hot desert 3% humidity, so I have to pay closer attention to watering. I would like to try this indoors where it is not so hot, but it is still very dry. Super appreciate your videos and input, thank you!

Hello and thank you for you video. Just a question .... in the last step when placing the stem with the pups on to the soil, do you water them? And if so, how often?
Your videos are great but kinda have a random question all my aloe plant are healthy but I will have days where all my aloe leaves decide to point strait up in the air douse this indicate something?
Weather conditions and plant health affects their leaves. If given enough sunlight, their leaves will point straight up, with less sunlight they will grow sidewards. With less water, you will have thinner leaves, with enough water, they will have thick leaves.
I haven't successfully done it with barbadensis. The last time I did it, it only rooted but it didn't grow pups. I try it again and give it more time to grow pups.

Just keep it indoor and protect it from freezing. It will propagate and be ready for planting in the spring.
