I’m 66. I bought my Vette spring 06, it was a one owner 05 convertible. I still have it, 18 years later, with only 30k on the clock. We’ve already driven cross country, in 2014, NJ to Anaheim along Rt66 what a blast! Hoping to do that again as soon as I retire.
I’m 60 and finally bought my dream car. It’s a 2010 Corvette convertible. WOW we love this car and your right ! Top down and a drive even to buy some ice cream is a thrill.
Thank you for your story. My wife has always wanted one. In June, after finally paying off college for my 2 boys, we found and bought a 2006 victory red convertible with 31,000 miles in it. She absolutely loves it and I love that it makes her smile whenever she drives it. I keep looking at ways to improve it, or add horsepower, etc, but after hearing your story, I don't feel like I need to do that anymore. It's perfect the way it is. Thank You!!
Amazing story I’m so attached to corvettes specially C6 I have same Ls2 Arctic white it has touched my heart in so many ways. Corvette club member also
Great story and well made video! I have the exact white Corvette Convertible but with the LS3 engine and I like it just fine the way it is without doing any mods to the engine. After I sold my C5 Red Coupe awhile back, I totally regretted it; I bought it brand new from a dealership in Kentucky and I flew in to pick it up. Now, I am again back in a Corvette, like you said, it's like a "therapy chamber" for me as well; the sounds, the raw power, the open air and the way it makes you feel can't be put into words. It is not about status in any way shape or form; it fits my personality well as if it was made just for me. When buying a Corvette at our age, people will always have something to say, "having a middle-age crisis?" I bought it just for me and it makes me feel good and I don't have to justify it to anyone!
I loved your story. I'm in Lincoln, NE and have two corvettes. An 05' Z51 DSOM Coupe I've named ESME which is my daily driver (during the non-winter months) and a 77' project car named LOVEDA that I'm currently working on.
Great story, Thanks for sharing it. I had the same car and it changed me in a big way as far as cars go. I'm, looking for a c7 GS hopefully. Cheers! BTW, that drone shot coming down the Hiway in the afternoon sun is hauntingly beautiful.
I turned 60 this year and since I'm retiring next year, and I've been thinking about my next car. For the longest time, I'd draw a blank when I'd think of what I'd get next - but I remembered I've always wanted a corvette since I first got a ride in a 1984 C4 back in 1984. Turns out the wife has always wanted one also. I've been looking at the various generations - I don't like the C7 or C8 looks (no offense to anyone who owns one!) and while I absolutely love the looks of the C2 and C3, their price and ergonomics and safety gear leave a lot to be desired. Plus, I want something new enough that I have a decent chance of getting fixed at a nearby dealer. Through a process of elimination and watching a lot of youtube videos, I narrowed my choice down to a C6. And then like yours, I further narrowed it down to a convertible - a type of car I've driven (as a rental) a handful of times in the 90s. I officially started my search for a C6 yesterday, after going to a classic car show and asking and being allowed to try getting in and out of a C6. Since I've been watching a lot of random youtube corvette videos, yours popped into my list of suggestions today and I gave it a view. I definitely like your presentation style - so many videos are done with a selfie stick - trying to look cool, or driving like a hooligan on public streets. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face today :-)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) You may know this already, but the first thing you're going to want to ask about is if the harmonic balancer has been replaced. Mine was replaced just before I bought it. The dealer showed me all the pics. The process is a little involved. Good luck with your search and take your time!
c6 vettes will be next c2- i've owned c2-c3 -c4- c5-and c6- i really liked my c2 convertible, owned it over 20 yrs but my c6 is most fun to drive-will NEVER own a c7 or c8 they may appeal to some people but i feel they have lost the corvette look and now c8 is going to offer it in electric-good grief

Me neither. Mines a 2011 LS3 coupe and I love mine too. Will never sell it. So fun. Take the top off and it's like a convertible.

Good story👍🏾 just punched my 07 ZO6
Its fairly economical too. Plenty of room for 2 to travel & the interior is nice enough for me,i dont need fancy wood grain..

Harmonic Balancer
C7 Coupes are downright ugly - the ugliest Corvettes ever produced.
C6 Converts are probably the best looking - Especially in White/Graphite.

iv'e owned c2-c3-c4-c5 and c6 vetts-had my c6 16 yrs and in my opinion will be the last pretty vette model made
@Steven Um, no. C7s - especially the coups are BUTT UGLY. Of course - you are entitled to your opinion.
@Steven Sell that C7 to someone who doesn't care about looks - and buy a C6 Convert
@Steven Sell it and buy the Convert.
