I just bought my first Vette. 08, auto, z51, 3lt. It makes me happy, after a long, stressful day at work. If your in the fence about a Vette. Do it, because life is short, be happy.
@@KTrainProJust seen an 07 automatic less than 80k miles. Burgundy with white/black interior & looks to be a z51 for 19k, really want it. Just hate that I like on a dirt/gravel road
Thanks. I spent probably 6 weeks watching a ton of UA-cam videos on how to start a channel. I also spent over $1000 on gear that I did not already have. Its still not where I want it to be production wise...but I am satisfied I am off to a good start :)
Just saw your video, thanks for the review. I just purchased my 2007 c6 base, atomic orange with the extra top. It has 73000 on the clock, it's been serviced on by the dealership, been garage kept with car cover. It had new michelin tires, Harmonic balancer, brakes, and shift cable has been replaced. I was 13 years when I saw my first corvette close up, and dreamed for one every since. At 73, my dream has been fulfilled. I did change the air and cabin filters. The original paint is showroom finished. I too will keep in garage. Thanks again.
I've have had an 07 for 13 years, LeMans Blue Metallic, Black Interior with 6 speed manual, Mag Ride, Z51 goodies, both tops, an exhaust that'll let you know it means business, and have loved every mile now at 53k on the clock. I do have to disagree on the ride though. Had a C5 I sold for the 07 and it was 1200 miles away. Flew up to get it and the drive back was enjoyable, and found *very* comfortable. Even after 8-9 hours on the road, there was no fatigue, didn't feel cramped, and always turned around walking away from it, with permagrin going on. I really don't have many complaints about this car at all. Was in the dealership only once for a misfire code and hasn't been back anywhere for any problems. I'm not a fan of the C7, and certainly not the C8 yet, so I'll keep on driving mine making sure to give the Corvette wave to others I see along the way!
My dad has an 09 3lt Crystal Red Metallic Convertible with only 4,650 miles. While I love driving my 370z, the times I can take the C6 out is such a treat. These cars are such a joy to drive. Amazing video by the way!
I have a 2005 C6, convertible, absolutely love this car , it was a surprise birthday gift from my daughter, son in law and wife, wanted another for a very long time, just couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger so they did it for me
Just purchased a 07 Coupe in Velocity yellow/Gray interior AT with paddle shifters, 3LT, polished aluminum wheels, magnetic ride, and roof package for $34,000.....new Goodyear Eagle F1's, new battery and hood release cable....perfect paint and interior with only 6,750 miles.....never seen rain.....
I bought my '06 this year in March. $12,000. 😃 Great car. LeMans Blue with a 6-manual. I've upgraded to drilled rotors & red calipers, added rear Wicker Bill, front splitter, lowered it a bit, and went 19/20 on the wheels. Love the car, but I'll sell it next year to upgrade.
I recently sold my purchased new 2008 c6 corvette z51 manual with 143k and the car was extremely reliable and looked great. I sold it for 11 grand and the young man who bought the car was very happy. I sold the car because My c8 z51 came in. I highly recommend corvettes preowned based off of my experience with how reliable this car was. In the entire life of the car I only spent 6 grand in repairs at the dealer. I had the car proactively serviced and believe it could have gone to 300k miles. Just a fabulous car. I love my new c8 which I will daily drive my previous corvettes. Btw no accidents and I had 19/20 c7 z51 black wheels and michelin tires. The car had a HEadsup display too. Just a great car. I just fell in love with the rear mid engine and only have a two car garage so the c6 had to go. Fun video here and my recommendation is buy c6 z51 with higher mileage so the purchase price isnt quite so high all based off my personal experience. .
Surprised this doesn’t have more credit. This is a really informative video. I really appreciate the video, going to a dealer tomorrow to look at a C6. This helped a lot! Hope your channel grows. You do a great job!

I have been looking for a used vette. This is an excellent review. And we are on the same page I've been looking at 2008's for extra 50 horses. I thank you for this review.
Great review. I’m looking for my next fun daily driver, and for the money, I keep coming back to the corvettes... I’ll be 50 in March.... guess I’ll be getting a pair of new balance for my birthday! Lol
Thanks. I am new at this...glad to see a lot of people seem to enjoy this video. Working on video #8 right now (Driving a Tesla Model Y Performance Edition 1200 miles in one day)
That was a very good video. I leased an ‘08 Base Coupe for 2 years and just loved it. I’ve been waiting forever to get another one, so that’s my mission. This time, I want either blue or green Coupe. I have to get an automatic due to my back, which sucks because you can get a C-5 Z06 for a decent price and even though they don’t have the power the C-6/C-7/C-8 have, they’re still a blast to drive. But a clutch really kills my back so it’s auto for me. The paddle shifters help, tho.
I have basically the same car. It has the LT3 package. I was under the opinion that the power passenger side seat was part of that package as I see many without a passenger side power seat. I removed the cd player and installed a Kenwood double din touch screen with wireless android auto because I need voice over music for Waze and also installed a r3 radar detector under the mirror and neatly powered by the mirror wiring. We find it quite comfortable and the last 1000 mile road trip we got 28 mpg with the best mileage at 85 mph. The car is slightly modified, no cats, headers and exhaust, ram air induction and a mild cam. Also the Kenwood had camera ports. We installed one camera tucked in the nose so we wouldn't hit the parking curbs, it works great.
Good down to earth review. Coming from a fellow 2007 corvette driver. Leary about doing any Mods (exhaust & intake) to my limited edition collector Vette as it is usually better to leave stock.
Great video, I like you was chasing a color.. Mine was 08 LT3 Atomic Orange. Got it with the two tops, dual exhaust, and the LS3 . 30,000 miles on it and very happy with it. Great cars.
I had the same issue with the parking cub and a fellow corvette owner suggested i back my vette into the parking spot, as the rear of the car won't hit the curb, works great!
Great review! Looking forward to More C6 vids, new subscriber here. I really love The C6 Grand Sport (2012-13 manual, those model years have upgraded seats from the factory). That’s my ultimate Corvette. The exterior lines on the C6 to me are the best, especially from the rear with the GS wide body. 2nd choice is a C5 Z06. Unfortunately I don’t have the extra cash flow now to buy one so I watch vids like yours to get me amped up !! My goal is to get either one when i retire in about five years. I’m 56 now and I’m also a big golfer. That 22 cubic feet on the C6 hatch back sounds terrific !
Great review! We have a 2007 with all the goodies and low miles. The see thru top is great in the Spring & Fall. Absolutely love the car. The only real change we made was to add new run flat tires. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a reasonably priced corvette.
Changed my mind! I now not very happy! 30K miles and fuel pump problem @ $2500. GM did a "warranty extension" for 10 years ending 2017. Should have been a RECALL so everyone was notified with no limitation on the time to fix. It is so dangerous they re-designed the original fuel pump! I noticed it when fuel smell started filling the car while parked. Now I am driving a lethal bomb until I can afford to fix it!
I've had my 2007 C6 Automatic Coupe for 3 years. It's my first and last. I don't track my card because there are enough Mountain roads here in Idaho to keep me happy! My Corvette club has enough events too. My first ever ride in a Corvette was in my twin brother's 50th Anniversary Corvette, traveling Route 66 from LA to Chicago together. This is my daily, all-weather car. However, I stay home when there is more than 1" of snow, or un-treated roads with an incline.
They are fun cars. I sold this one last summer. My wife and I now have a 1995 with 38K miles (I bought to do some UA-cam videos with in the spring) and a 2023 2LT Coupe in Elkhart Lake Blue. You can see that one on my channel as well...
Excellent review and I enjoyed the process very much. Clear and concise information and appreciated the lack of 'awesome' and 'like' in the commentary.
Thanks. I appreciate that. This is one of my most popular videos. I have a few others on this generation Corvette on my channel you might want to check out.
Good informative video. I purchased a 2007 Corvette convertible 3lt automatic Monteray Red in 2014 with 38,000 miles. I absolutely love the car and still own it. However I have had some problems with it. One day the shirt cable broke and left me stranded. I had to get it towed to a Chevy dealer. Replacement cost was over $600. From what I've heard this is not an uncommon problem. I also had the dreaded stuck in park problem which means you can move the shifter out of park. This one is also a known problem and fairly common. The most common fix is to replace the shifter assembly which can be over $1000. I researched this problem on UA-cam and was able to fix it myself. The next problem was a DIC warning saying Shift to Park. I moved the shifter to park but I still got this warning. I researched this problem and due to a microchip failure in the shifter assembly the car thought it was in neutral and if you shut the engine off the car stayed in accessory mode. Doing this would eventually drain the battery so I had to disconnect the battery. Since the shifter assembly is non serviceable the only fix is to replace the shifter assembly. I ordered a new shifter assembly and was able to install it myself with some help. The other problem I had is the driver side window regulator went out. Again I was able to buy a replacement part and install it myself with some help. I am not complaining about the car and I still love it but I wanted your readers to be aware of these other potential problems.
Very nice review. You present the car well. There is an exhaust option called NPP or dual mode. It has vacuum baffles that open automatically when you hammer the pedal to give you that Borla style exhaust note. You can also buy an aftermarket button that leaves it on all the time. It is pretty sweet. Nice color car!
great vid. Very informative. I love the blue. Keep em coming. I am in Michigan also, up by Saginaw. PS - I have a 2005 C6 Lingenfelter Convertible. It has 32,00 miles on it, Magnetic Red, 560hp, etc.. All options including Magnetic suspension and Sport seats with adjustable bolsters, Awesome Car
I own a c6 ls2 6 speed and I love the damn thing. The suspension feels like a new car and engine just roars when you hit the gas. Riding around the city low rpm it sounds quieter than a civic. Great car overall and I like the base because of the targa top, however, I probably wouldn’t hesitate to upgrade to C6z just for the sheer power which would make me forget about it being only a non-removable hardtop.
Exhaust sound tip on my 2008: Pull the bottom right corner fuse to keep the exhaust flaps open all the time. The fuse panel is inside cabin on the passenger side, knee level. Your neighbors won't complain about Corvette rumble if you own Harley-Davidsons.
Aye same here I got a 2007 c6 with the orange color. I put a borla straight pipe. And led tail lights. I’m going to be swapping the whole power terrain system that’s making 1,600 hp. And custom carbon fiber body kit
Thanks. This is one of the first videos I did when I started the channel. You might be interested in the new video I just posted: The 7 things I love about the C6. Next week I am doing the 7 things I don't like about the C6.
In 2016 I was looking for a used C6 and decided on a blk 07 Z51 6spd that was in Oak Creek WI. like you I gave them $500. to hold it and told them I was driving from Ca. to pick it up. Coincedently it was 5 miles from my cousins beauty shop . She was always good to my Mom so I told her If she would take me to the dealer where she and her husband bought their cars she can have the C4 that I was driving. She was so blown away that she got lost ! I did get my C6 that I drove back to Ca. I still have a 87 C4 and my wife has a C5. The C6 still smells like brand new inside . My first Corvette was a 64 coupe that was 6 years old on the used car lot at Clark Maple Chevy in Chicago. That was in 71 and I was i high school at the time I paid $1800. for it , still have the receipt but not the car. Cool video keep it up.
I ordered the 2007 Le Mans Blue Z06 with factory delivery. It was the best Vette I've owned. I pulled the center console and had the Dealer paint it body color. The Z06 motor had roller bearing issues and the motor had to be rebuilt. The top was bolted on, no levers.

Nice clean review, lot's of good tips for the new C6 owner. I own a 2010 C6 Grand Sport Convertible for the weekend and a 2004 C5 Z06 as the daily driver / track car. As for the auto vs manual, I have been manual since I had hair, even at 62 I would only buy a manual vette, it's a matter of choice so I don't see a C8 in my future anytime soon.
Good for you fella :-) It's easy to see your love for Vettes. Thanks for the info and your story :-) We have an 09 Z06 atomic orange. It's our first Vette, and hope to have more like you, ehh :-) 🇨🇦
I have a 2007 C6 also and found that most if not all the info that you covered was spot on and yes I would have considered the 2008 model instead of the 2007 if I had spent more time researching the differennces of both cars?I installed a Borla exhaust, and yes it does make a difference in the sound quality! Living in Calif also makes a big difference in what upgrades I can add to my car owing to our CARB rules and regulations. Too many rules!! Thanks you!
Thanks for the comment. Yes...I think If I had known the 2008 and newer had the better engine option, I might not have purchased this one. But I LOVE the color :)
We had a 2013 GS Convertible for a couple of years. I LOVED It...but it was my wife's car and she did not like having a convertible. And it had a couple of small minor issues that had to be fixed under warranty. So we sold it. I miss that car !
I paid $27,200 for a 2008 with the ls3 with 33k miles so sounds like I didn't do too bad seeing what you paid and it even has the adjustable ride of sport or tour mode (not z51 though)
Good video. Very well presented. Curious why you opted for the LS2 over the LS3. Was it more about the color? You noted in the video you were seeking out a Lemans Blue Coupe and that color went away after 2007.
Excellent review! This has always been my favorite model of Corvette, and I plan to (at some point) pick one up. I currently have a 2017 3 Series M-Sport, and a 2004 Wrangler LJ. Seriously considering trading the BMW for one of these...
Great video, Tom. A couple of comments from a fellow C6 owner. When you buy a older Corvette be careful of what options you want. You mentioned for instance the magnetic shock option. It may be a good idea to march down to your local General Mayhem dealer and query the replacement cost of those wonder shocks. It’s an eye opener ! For myself I found buying a top of the line adjustable shock still turns out much, much cheaper way to go. Speaking of parts, GM is notoriously terrible with parts availability for older ‘Vettes , and they Re pricey. It’s one thing to buy a Corvette for reasonable to cheap money but keep in mind, they’re not the cheapest car to maintain. For instance, the notorious harmonic damper issue on LS engines , another reif-air cost that can make your eyes water, if taken to a dealer. Don’t anybody get me wrong, I love my Convertible but be aware that ownership of these cars comes with a considerable price tag.
Tom, excellent review... I had a 2006 Z51 coupe in Lemans blue with 2Lt. 6 speed. Excellent car. I bought it in 2009 for $34k and drove it daily. Till 84k miles. Sold it in 2014 for $17k. Should have just kept it My main advice is, every dime in mods will never be recovered when you sell it. Put 10k worth of goodies in it. Wheels, transmission upgrade, shifter, tires, exhaust, brakes etc Z51 is worth it
I just bought my first Vette. 08, auto, z51, 3lt. It makes me happy, after a long, stressful day at work. If your in the fence about a Vette. Do it, because life is short, be happy.

Thanks for the info.
Great! Thank you - is there more info on your ownership experience that you want to share? Im getting one soon so im in reseasrch mode.Tell us more.
Be nice to open and close it at will
One of the most informative videos I've found on this car, thanks!
Don’t “drop in” the targa top because just like the hood, if you drop them into lock down they will eventually develop cracks in the fiberglass.
Hi Tom, great video! I'm considering a C6 for my next purchase. And I agree that the LS 3 would be my choice. Thanks for the info. 👍👌
Excellent video, thank you! Plan on buying one (C6) in the near future.
You will love it. They are a lot of fun...
Keep up the good work. This is a very good video and I can tell you did your research. 👍
A really helpful, concise and entertaining informational video, deserves much more views. Very well structured and put together
Thanks. I am new to UA-cam...so I try and get a little better with every video...
Exhaust sound tip on my 2008: Pull the bottom right corner fuse to keep the exhaust flaps open all the time. The fuse panel is inside cabin on the passenger side, knee level. Your neighbors won't complain about Corvette rumble if you own Harley-Davidsons.
i thoroughly enjoyed this video
Great n much very helpful video for my C6 purchase this month. 🤙
Great video man, told me everything I need to know. Trying to pick up the same model tomorrow. 🤞
Got my 05 Corvette for $14,500 in excellent condition. Loving it
Good price
What it look like wanna see me pics
I found a 2 owner, no accident 52k mile ‘07 Velocity Yellow Corvette that I am considering purchasing. These cars give so much bang for the buck!
Absolutely. What are they asking? $20K ?
Excellent review! Looking for the right C6 when I see it and this helps.
Great video! Very informative for new buyers!
Thank you I just got my first c6 31,000 miles after market Exhaust see through roof .prices went up some.
Aye same here I got a 2007 c6 with the orange color. I put a borla straight pipe. And led tail lights. I’m going to be swapping the whole power terrain system that’s making 1,600 hp. And custom carbon fiber body kit
Picking up my 08 Z51 on Tuesday! Can't wait.
sweet ride! got my 05 convertible for 25k w/ 58k miles over the summer. best 25k i ever spent
Still have factory steering wheel?
Awesome review...I also have a 2007 ...loving every minute of it...thanks !!!
Awesome review, I learned a lot from this video to help me choose my c6 corvette. Thank you
NICE C6 ,CORVETTE I WANT ONE I LIKE THE CLASSIC FOUR ROUND TAIL LIGHTS NICE 👌 👍
Thanks. They are great cars. You will love it...
I have had my 2007 C6 for six years and it's the best car I have ever owned.
Great quality and a great review. Really appreciate the different camera angles and voice overs you've done here
Thanks. This is one of the first videos I did when I started the channel. You might be interested in the new video I just posted: The 7 things I love about the C6. Next week I am doing the 7 things I don't like about the C6.
The only color I'd get other than black. Gorgeous Vette! Very informative video, thanks!
Thank you sir. I love my 07 C6.
Nice review! Informative and to the point
I've been looking at an '08/'09 C6. Thanks for the review!
The 2008 LS3 has the NPP exhaust and with the mild to wild switch, you can have all the exhaust note you want and shut it down when you want quiet!
C6 Z06 cars the top doesn't come off
Beautiful Vette. Great review. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks. I drove it to two car shows just yesterday. I do love it...but it could use some more POWER
Great video! I hope to be in the market for one soon!
HEY TOM. JUST FOUND YOUR VIDEO HERE AND YOU, FOR THE FIRST TIME. WATCHED IT AND WANTED TO SAY.... GOOD JOB WITH THE VIDEO, CONTENT AND NARRATION. NICE CAR. * GET THE NEW AND IMPROVED SEATS THAT YOU NEED! YOU HAVE TO BE COMFORTABLE WHILE ENJOYING THE RIDE!
Good review - looking at a white 07 at the moment. I had my dads C3 (74) white with tan interior so has some nostalgic appeal too.
Awesome video Tom! Thank you so much! I helped me a lot as I am searching for a C6. Take care! 😄😉
Excellent review, very informative. Thank you.
I got a 07 z51 ls2 and it's not the fastest vette there is but it kicks ass and mint condition. So ls2 is pretty strong.
Found this video while looking at an 07 corvette for $25k. The more I research about it, the more I want to get it.
How many miles did it have? I also found a 2007 C6 for 25k with 55k miles
I own a 2013 and it is hands down the best car I ever owned.
We had a 2013 GS Convertible for a couple of years. I LOVED It...but it was my wife's car and she did not like having a convertible. And it had a couple of small minor issues that had to be fixed under warranty. So we sold it. I miss that car !
I paid $27,200 for a 2008 with the ls3 with 33k miles so sounds like I didn't do too bad seeing what you paid and it even has the adjustable ride of sport or tour mode (not z51 though)
sweet and nice I have a C6, C7, and C8 a vett is always a vett , there like babies to take care off
Good video. Very well presented. Curious why you opted for the LS2 over the LS3. Was it more about the color? You noted in the video you were seeking out a Lemans Blue Coupe and that color went away after 2007.
Yes...it was all about the color. I did not even realize the LS3 started the next model year when I bought this.
Great review and a very helpful one as well👍cheers from new subs from over the pond in northern most part of Europe
Excellent review! This has always been my favorite model of Corvette, and I plan to (at some point) pick one up. I currently have a 2017 3 Series M-Sport, and a 2004 Wrangler LJ. Seriously considering trading the BMW for one of these...
Great video! I have a 1987 c4 corvette and i love it! Though i want to save up and buy a c6 in the next year or 2, the c6 is my dream car.
Speaking of parts, GM is notoriously terrible with parts availability for older ‘Vettes , and they
Re pricey.
Good points. I have noticed recently that my harmonic balancer is starting to show a slight wobble...
Can you say a couple of prices
Great review, brother!
Much appreciated!
Excellent , detailed review.
The LS-3 is fantastic!
When I bought this...I did not know the LS3 was introduced the following model year. I was primarily focused on the color :)
Tom, excellent review...
I had a 2006 Z51 coupe in Lemans blue with 2Lt. 6 speed. Excellent car. I bought it in 2009 for $34k and drove it daily. Till 84k miles. Sold it in 2014 for $17k. Should have just kept it
My main advice is, every dime in mods will never be recovered when you sell it.
Put 10k worth of goodies in it. Wheels, transmission upgrade, shifter, tires, exhaust, brakes etc
Z51 is worth it
I had a Lemans Blue 07 Z51 manual until it died in Hurricane Sally. I miss my beautiful girl!
That is a bummer...hope you went out and purchased another Corvette with the insurance money !
I have a brand new Lemans Blue Targa Top for a good price.
Great information. Thank you from Australia
Awesome video man love the content!!!
Good info. Well done. The C6 is a great sports car. Very tempting vehicle to buy.
